Donut Connection, also known as New Mike’s Place. It’s a small place, it’s not fancy-shmancy, but they have three tables and lots of personality! The donuts here are awesome, big, fresh and delicious. My favorite is the long, glazed cruller, they have the regular one and marble. My other favorite is the Cheeseburger Deluxe with lettuce, tomato and french fries, $ 4.95. Other breakfast items include: great coffee, muffins, pancakes, french toast and omelettes. Lunch is: soups, salads and many kinds of sandwiches. They even have a sandwich called the Howard Stern! LOL, I’m trying that next.

Love their decaf ice coffee and much better than Dunkin Donuts jelly donuts. Wish they would fix the place up though. It is shabby looking and uninviting as well as uninspiring.

This place has almost no reviews. Which is surprising, considering how many regulars they have and how busy it gets. First things first: If you take a good look, the place is dated. Everything looks old, dirty, etc. This can all be ignored. The coffee is delicious. I don’t know how, but they make it perfectly for me every time-the most consistent coffee place by far. And when you get iced coffee, they add your sugar and then the tiniest bit of hot coffee to melt it before they add the cold coffee. Sandwiches are perfection. I always get an egg and bacon on a roll. They have other breakfast stuff too but I usually stick with what I love. Donuts are BIG compared to any other place. For selection and freshness, you need to be there in the morning. Big coffee rolls and croissants. Love it when they have the homemade corn muffins. We always try other places and always come back.

I was going through a donut craze a while back, remembered checking out their reviews and wanting to try this place out. We(fam and I) passed by this place at around 9pm and saw that they were still opened so we decided to go in and see what they had. I knew being late near closing time, pickings were slim, if any at all. I saw they had a sign, «after 2pm, donuts are 2 for $ 1.00»… Great deal! They had about 2 dozen random donuts. We ended up getting 6 donuts, 2 crullers, 2 jellies, 1 glazed and one chocolate glazed(like the one from Dunkin). The chocolate one was mine. It was okay flavor wise but I was surprised that it was fairly moist. I was afraid it was going to be hard and stale since it was sitting out most of the day. I had half of the jelly donut the next day. It didnt keep well in the paper bag but it was still edible. I wasn’t a big fan of the jelly. It was like a blueberry flavor. I was expecting strawberry since that’s what the lady said it was but I guess she said eff it, and gave us a random one. I would like to return one day, earlier in the day(but after 2pm to get the deal) to see their donut variety.

I love Donut Connection. They make croissant with sausage egg and cheese and it is so delicious! Makes waking up in the morning so much easier, not to mention that their coffee is good too. I like that this place has no pretense, it is simply a place to stop by grab a quick breakfast and go. Not to mention that the service is fast especially since they get so crowded in the morning. The lady in the counter always tries her best to get everyone out, not in a rude way, but in a quick and efficient service kind of way.

What really makes the place special is the awesome pair of ladies behind the counter. This is as heart-warming a place as you can find in this day and age. They’re always cheerful! They’re like the best moms you ever saw as a kid, hanging out at a friend’s house. Remember, ‘Breaking Away’? That kind of mom. Hair up in buns; wearing uniforms and caps; chatting and gossiping with customers; smiling and laughing and taking care of everyone, even strangers. They scramble to make sure your order is prepared exactly to your slightest preference! While its being made, they check back with you to ask you if you want salt, pepper, extra cheese, what kind of bun, how much sugar in your coffee, how much milk, everything. They call you ‘hon’ and ‘sweetie’ and wish you a good morning. Just amazing. Reassuring courtesy and warmth, in a chaotic and insane age. Bravo to these ladies! I’m practically ready to ask one of them out.
