I’ve visited this place 3 years ago for the very first time when I decided to take a leap of faith and add a little color to my natural hair. The setting the stylist very professional nothing like the usual loud and unprofessional hair stylist without licenses. The owner watch and assist the girl who was doing my hair making sure I was getting the right treatment and quality services, which made me feel at ease and very happy to see services like this being done right here in Brooklyn. Now I’ve kept my color for sometime and it faded I came back years later to the same amazing quality of service felt like the very first time the owner watch and told the stylist doing my hair how and what to use I loveeee this place and would definitely come back whenever I need to give my hair a little love

The stylists make it their aim to cater to each client’s individual hair needs. The stylists really do care about the health of your hair. I always leave Divine Connection with a fabulous new do & a smile. I have tried many different hairstyles over the years and I am ALWAYS pleased. My only regret is not going to Divine Connection sooner! After finding Divine Connection, I will never settle for less!

These people are a bunch of crooks!!! I told the lady that I wouldn’t be able to wait to long and she told me ok I will do your hair really quick. Next I know when my hair is done drying Im waiting for this lady n it’s hour later. I told Her I can’t wait n she charges me $ 30 for a wash and I hardly have any hair no conditioner applied. Im disappointed n they will never see me any more.

I came here some years ago when I got my first short cut i was extremely nervous when my friend told me about this salon she told me it was a Christian based salon and that they were really kind etc when I arrived for my appointment I felt it was extremely awkward didn’t really feel welcomed the owner did my hair and I have to be honest wasn’t really impressed needless to say it was my first and last time there

I love love love divine connections hair spa. I’ve been a loyal customer for years. Great service and very professional. I always leave the hair spa looking fabulous. I truly recommend this salon to every female who wants to take great care of their hair and to also look fab.

I’ve been coming to Divine Connection for about 4 years now and I’ve done so many different things with my hair from a short permed cut, to the big chop, coloring, and to sew in weaves. I always leave happy with my hair and look even more beautiful than when I came in. The staff is very professional and knowledgeable. They use top of the line products from brands such as Chi, Jane Carter, Mizani, etc. I love the fact that the stylists are always educating themselves and attending courses to understand the new trends as well as everything they need to know about hair care. I also love that it’s a Christian salon and good atmosphere.

Nicole is not a hair stylist, she is a hair artist! Her salon is a nice respite, from other salons that play cursing hip hop music and have gossiping workers.

I truly continue to love this place. I always leave looking and feeling wonderful. This is the longest I’ve stayed with a stylist. I can’t say enough about the ambiance. My 9 year old also gets her hair done … The stylist Nicole recommended a smoother 360 for my daughters natural locks and it has made my life so much easier. The great thing is no chemicals and her hair is now easier to manage.

I was looking for a new hair salon to take my daughter and was recommended by a friend who’s hairstyle I absolutely loved. Of course I was skeptical going to a new salon and hoping that everything goes the way you want it to. I have been to places and prayed to get out of there with my hair in tact and my pockets not completely empty. My daughter had been going to Dominican hairstylists and honestly her hair what little bit she had left was suffering. I had to do something. Thank God I made the right decision. My daughter and I simply love Divine Connection.
We were greeted with a professional manner. My daughter had a consultation and Nicole told me exactly what had been happening to her hair and what had to be done to correct it.
The atmosphere is calm. There isn’t any loud talking or ghetto behavior. You make an appointment and its kept. No waiting forever for a wash and set. Its a joy to be there. My daughter’s hair is healthy and she’s happy, and so am I. Thank you Divine Connection.

After 6 months, of Divine Connection, I’m still as pleased as my first visit.
My hair looks flawless every time. If you use Remy like I used to, Divine Connection has the connect on what the tress the celebs use. Rock Star staus!

I have been going to Divine Connection for one year now and I am happy. The first thing I liked about this place was the sign that states, No Children Allowed. I am tying to relax so I really do not feel the need to have kids yelling and running around me. I also like when I walk in the staff greets me by name. As soon I sit in the waiting area someone is ready to start my hair. I have done short hair cuts which seems to be their speciality and glue in and sewed weaves. The hair products are great and the way they weave it doesn’t pull out my hair. My hair always looks good when I leave. Nicole, the owner, is very detailed and a pro when it comes to cutting hair. The gospel music is very relaxing and I love how they don’t gossip and bad talk customers as soon as they turn their backs.
The only thing is my hair is very thin so I wish Nicole and her staff catered more to consulting customers on how to improve their hair. I believe they are more concerned about finishing your hair at a set time to move on to the next person so time to talk and advise clients doesn’t fit into the schedule. And if you decide you want to do another style instead of what you scheduled you are sure to make Nicole upset and she doesn’t hesitate to say no. This is the approach that causes the wait to be short when you come in but I wish she was more approachable or flexible in this aspect. For now to avoid being barked at I just let her do her thing, my hair still looks good anyway.
I wish they could also add a comment box so people can rate or write comments about how the new hairdressers in training do so that way they can learn from client’s feed back. Because God knows how much I want to yell out stop pouring all the water in my ear.

My rating is not based on a hair service, because I had the good common damn sense to leave IMMEDIATELY!
Making the reservation:
I was in search of a new salon on a beautiful Saturday and based on the Unilocal reviews and the professional website i decided to give this place a try. I spoke to a woman who was EXTREMELY pleasant and professional. I was sooo looking forward to my appointment that appeared to offer «Manhattan» professionalism and skill just located in Brooklyn. I was booked @ 4:30 for Wash and Cut.
Arrival/​Greeting
I walked in and was greeted by (I’m assuming) the owner who made my appointment and was told to have a seat in the back. IMMEDIATELY i was nervous because every single woman waiting had short haircuts. I do not– and from experience those who master short hair fall short on caring for longer hair… so the anxiety begins.
I decided to look through some books for cut inspiration. And that’s where the trouble began. This really tall, young, «round» woman approached me without a hello or smile and asks «do you have an appointment?» I’m thinking to myself I know I announced my name and appointment time when i walked in, so what was the confusion? She goes up to the front talks to the owner (I’m assuming) comes back and asks «what are you getting done?» I told her i needed a Wash, treatment and a cut. Again no OK, or ill be right back to get started nothing. She walks back to the front, talks to the owner. SLIDE #2
She comes back a third time (now I’m pissed annoyed, and scared), «You want a cut right? then what?»
I should have walked out right then and there, but it was clear this girl, was just a receptionist or family member given a job. SLIDE # 3
This same young lady tells me to have a seat @ the sink. So now I’m saying to myself wait a minute! NO ONE has even touched my hair, scalp or anything and you want to wash me. I was sold from all the different treatments and systems offered. But that was never discussed.
Based on customer service ALONE I booked it straight out the front door! My suggestion to the owner, fire your niece or whoever that young girl is.
To all thinking about coming here– please don’t be fooled by the presentation. I cant speak on their skill or work. But based on what I experienced in the 10 minutes, I would have much preferred staying home on my couch w. my hair a wreck! I did find a salon the following day that met my expectations + more for half the price!

These ladies hook me up every single time! I have been getting my hair done by these ladies for years and they are professional, friendly and I walk out of that salon looking Hot. When i first came to them my hair was extremely short, damaged and a hot mess. Now my hair looks amazing!

I am from from what some people consider ‘a hair capital’-Atlanta! So moving to NYC amd trying to find something comparable was a daunting task. I have been to this salon at least 3 times an each time a different stylist does it. And they are all absolutely wonderful.
Nicole is the owner. She has the best eye for styles and has knowledge of products and care tips to keep your hair healthy. The other stylist there are under her wing. Though she may not be styling your hair that particular day she makes sure that the other stylists, who are very professional and superbly trained, don’t ruin your hair or the salons rep by checking in one you every now and then. You also can get great products from the store for home care. They always tell you how to keep your mane in shape til your next visit.
I have always gotten compliments and head turns when leaving that salon. Came out looking so fly and fancy that I almost caused an accident, but considering this is NYC he might have just been a bad driver.
It’s a Christian atmosphere but not stuffy and judgmental. They have fun here. Laughter always fills the salon and the music is wonderful. There is a nice waiting area with not just hair magazines but books, coffee and tea.
The salon takes credit cards also so you don’t have to carry cash. The prices are moderate but when you come out looking like a movie star, you forget what you paid!
The only complaint I have is that when I go to use the ladies room, there is no where to hang my purse.

I had a great experience with this salon. They took me as a walk-​in late in the evening, and I was very happy with how my hair turned out, and the attention the stylist gave to it. It It’s a beautiful, quiet shop that uses great products, and I will definitely be back.

Since recently moving to Brooklyn, I have been shopping for a hair salon home. dont be fooled Unilocalers by the other high reviews as I was, this place is fine in a pinch but otherwise, try elsewhere.
Well, I made my appointment over the phone, receptionist seemed nice but upon walking in the salon, 2 days later, no one greeted me upon walking in, everyone kept to themselves and while I was waiting to be service, I was looking at the hair of the women getting done before me and I was shocked that half of them were walking out of the salon w/​smile. the work looked unfinished. the stylist I had did not seem to know about hair care, I felt like my little cousin was doing my hair.

I just returned from two weeks in Africa and was desperate for a hair cut. Inspired by all the gorgeous hairstyles of the women in Kampala I decided to trade in my curly, natural ‘do for a flat-​ironed straight style. Eager to make the change I was delighted to be able to get a same-​day appointment on a Saturday. My stylist listened to what I wanted and helped me figure out good cut for my first-​time-​wearing-​it-​straight-​instead-​of-​natural-​in-​five-​years hair. And the best part was my wash, set and cut only came to $ 65! I look forward to going back to try their other services and to upgrading my rating to 5 stars.

I had an appointment with this hair salon today, service was great, everyone was very professional, the owner recommended certain treatments for my hair, which came out looking absolutely beautiful, I am going to be visiting again, very happy with the level of service given. I have been going to Dominician hair salons before and this salon puts them to shame, really should not compare, you really get mediocre service at most Dominician hair salons. Thanks Nicole.

I love coming to Divine Connection. Nicole (the owner) is a fabulous stylist with many years of experience. I haven’t had a hair cut this good in so many years. This is a serene and professional salon. Very reasonably priced. I have yet to be disappointed in any service I have received. I highly recommend her and she has a great staff to support her.
