There are some pretty strong pros and cons. The restaurant has great ambiance, staff are helpful, and the food is tasty. I love the scallop tiradito and the octopus dinner. Serving sizes are really small, so you do need to order more than one serving a person, which is where the cons come in. The plates are appetizer sized servings for dinner prices… $ 20 – 24 for next to nothing. Plan to spend $ 140 – 200 for 2 people(which is obscene). Also the $ 1 oysters are pretty tiny and tasteless. They are a $ 1, which is great, but not really something to get excited over. Their shrimp ceviche is good but pretty basic. Would hope for more considering it is $ 19. The recipe is similar to what you can easily make it home. All that said, I do enjoy coming here 1 – 2 times a year.

I have mixed feelings about Desnuda. Pros: — interior decoration — service Cons: — ridiculously high prices The food here is pretty good, but that alone is not enough to justify its costs. The portions are so small. SO small. I made the mistake of coming here for dinner. My date and I spent over $ 160 for a few dishes and still walked out hungry and unsatisfied. We actually went to a different restaurant. Will I return? No.

Stopped by for a snack on a Sunday night. The truffle popcorn is great. Usually, I don’t like popcorn, but this was pretty good. We started with a dozen oysters. They were poorly shucked with pieces of shell all over the place, and the oysters were from Virginia and they weren’t particularly briney or creamy, just kind of mehhhhh. We also shared the scallop tiradito. It was served lukewarm and drowning in sauce, so those two factors kind of ruined it for me.

I come here for the oysters and stay for amazing service. Gabriel is always attentive even when he is slammed with customers. Great spot.

Drinks are priced reasonably for the area, but the food prices are insane. $ 40 for one drink and 6 pieces of sashimi.

Terrible food, awful service and smokey as hell. Have they never heard of ventilation? I’m asthmatic, and had a full blown attack here because if the smile coming from the ‘kitchen’. Stay away

This restaurant has been inconsistent. It was delicious the first time I went, and progressively got worse each time after. Yesterday, I took my friend for to try Desnuda and I was utterly embarrassed. The ceviche was cut thick, it was ice cold, and old. The fish was not treated nicely, the sauces were all over whelming/mayonnaise drenched. Freshness is KEY when it comes to ceviche. Disappointed.

O. M. G. This place seriously rocked my world. I came here after work with my girls, in search of an oyster happy hour, and what we stumbled upon was SOOO much better. The 3 of us shared a dozen oysters, but the sauces… oh man. They make their own cocktail sauces in-house and they were incredible. There were 3 — a soy-based, a ginger-based, and I believe a spicy one(though I had had a few glasses of Peruvian wine, so it’s a bit cloudy) but they were all equally amazing. Since we were still hungry, we decided to also order the seared tuna with truffle oil, the lobster ceviche, and the coconut rice. I honestly think I died and went to seafood heaven. This stuff was sinfully good. It’s def a bit on the pricey side. In the end the 3 of us dished out about $ 60/each I think. But the flavor explosions in my mouth that evening… priceless. Oh I’ll be back, alright.

This is basically a tequila and rum cocktail bar with what looked like good seafood. The tequila cocktail I had was great, and they also serve free truffle popcorn to munch on at the bar, which was delicious. They also played a lot of great deep cut 80’s music. It’s a little pricey for BK, but it was a cool spot.

If you’re looking for a place to grab drinks in Brooklyn that teeters between upscale and laid back, head over to Desnuda. Though the bar/seafood-oriented spot is small and has limited seating, the décor is modern without being too uppity. The cocktail menu is moderately priced(around $ 12 each) and boasts creative concoctions such as tequila drinks with hibiscus and jalapeño notes. But beware all whiskey-drinkers, this isn’t the place for you. There were drinks that feature rum, tequila or vodka on the menu, but none with heavier, darker liquors. While we didn’t have any of their seafood dishes(though they all looked and smelt amazing), the bar is stocked with truffle popcorn that you will be munching on all night long. Overall, a great spot to grab a drink on date night or with your girlfriends.

Went here with my boyfriend a month back and I’ve dreamed of coming back here for so long… We went specifically for the happy hour oysters. They were delicious. Usually seafood places give you horseradish, cocktail sauce, or other usual sauces, but this places truly gives foodies something to rave about. I can’t remember exactly what they were called, but Desnuda offers three wonderfully delicious and unique side sauces that comes with the oysters. The flavors in these just brought out how fresh and awesome the oysters were. Twenty four oysters just weren’t enough… On top of that, our server was freaking awesome — helpful with that cool, laid-back vibe. The atmosphere is rustic and filled with the smell of the delicious Brussels sprouts cooking… Definitely found my go to spot for oysters and dinner. AND the best part is the fact that it wasn’t loud and that I was able to enjoy the place without shouting. :)

Before I complain, let me say the food was delicious. That’s it. That’s the one star. $ 81 for one(1) twist-cap bottle of white wine, a small lobster ceviche and a side of white basmati rice. We actually ordered another ceviche because obviously this won’t satisfy two people, but the waitress forgot to put our order in and after waiting around 20 min for the plate(the lobster one came out super quick), we just got the check and left(still hungry). They need to give proper training to their waiters. In her defense, she was working the whole thing on her own(which was like 5 or 6 tables) but if you do get organized it’s not hard to handle. Just get a pad and get every table’s order at once instead of taking one table, putting the order in, then coming back to get the next table, and putting that one in, and so on. I get some food is pricey, but $ 28 for a appetizer sized lobster ceviche seems a bit too much. I’m sure you can buy a full entrée of lobster somewhere else for that price. Will not come back here unless I win the lottery and they get their service situation in order.

I didn’t know about Desnuda until one Thursday evening I was having Happy Hour in Williamsburg. We stumbled upon Desnuda and my world has changed ever since. The oysters and cocktails were unbelievable. They include 3 sauces for your oysters, you won’t need tabasco, trust me! The cocktail that stood out the most is called«The other lady.» We’ve practically tried half the menu and will go back to try the other half. Be aware that this place is for raw lovers. You might still be hungry later on, however, this is damn good and worth the price. Sit at the chef’s table and watch all the fabulous creations.

Went here for my anniversary(3rd) The server Vala(I think that’s how it’s spelled) is amazing! We had such a good time. Look small things here and there happen in any kitchen, what is important is that coming out on the service end is that it’s taken care of before it’s a problem. And that’s what happened. The food was amazing, the yellow tail was like butter, we had one little bobble… But it was taken care of before it was even a glimmer. If your looking for quality, and a foodie fusion this is a great place… Let’s give the staff a hand. Maybe we will be back for our 4th.

When you find«the one», you just know. Even before entering the doors at Desnuda, we got a good vibe from the place. Every inch of the décor(both outside and in) is beautiful, rustic, and well put together. If I had a summer home, this is what I would want it to look like. While it’s tempting to sit in the cozy booths, I highly recommend sitting at the bar and chatting it up with Steve while watching him prepare your food and drinks. The rest of the team is equally as pleasant but Steve really kicked our dinner experience up a few notches. Now onto the food! After a dozen($ 1) oysters, a beer, a rioja, truffle popcorn, 3 specials(Hamachi in yuzu sauce, seared scallop done 2 ways, and Brussels sprouts) and tuna ceviche with pickled jalapeño, Desnuda sealed the deal for us. We can’t wait to come back again, and try the East Village location as well.

You have someone that actually wants to go on a date with you? You should take them here before they change their mind. Because Desnuda hits all the right notes. The food is exotic but still accessible… delicious, but light enough that you’ll still be able to disappoint your date afterward. Each and every dish is a delicate and masterful balance between salty and sweet, acidity and heat. The jalapeño in the Tiradito de Atun is pickled to temper the spice, and the potato crunch rounds out the dish texturally. Unlike your conversational skills, there is nothing boring about this tuna. Make sure you get a spoon if you opt for the Ceviche de Camarones, as drinking that lime and orange juice along with the creamy avocado and the plentiful pieces of prawn make it memorable. If the brussels sprouts on special are available, you’ll also want to slurp up every bit of that maple marinade, with the chunks of bacon a tasty treat each time. Each dish is also beautiful enough to ache for Instagramming, but Desnuda is too dark to bother with a camera. More importantly though, it’s dark enough that your date can pretend she’s with someone better-looking. And they have alcohol, which can only help someone with your personality. The barkeep can handle anything you throw at him, but don’t sleep on the menu; their house cocktails aren’t an afterthought as in so many other eateries. Here, they complement the food quite well. If she wasn’t so violent, I would leave my wife for The Other Woman. Tequila, habanero syrup, and a hibiscus salt side ensured that I’d order another, and the hint of spice paired perfectly with that same note in every dish we had. Even the music is excellent in this place. If Desnuda was a person, your date would already have left you for him. But if you pick the restaurant, all it will do is make you look good.

Came up here with a friend visiting me from London and was nicely surprised ;) so warm and welcoming you feel at home instantaneously! The food was the next great surprise, mainly sea food, but I never had the kind of taste and mix before — truffle pop corn for start and to die for, oysters with house made condiments, tuna with truffle ponzu potato crisp cilantro and red onion, brussels sprouts with maple syrup and bacon and many more delicious surprises. Great cocktails with freshly squeezed juice and not to forget toped with the best music! I’m bringing all of my friends next time

I love you, Desnuda. No matter where you are located, I will find you and continue loving you. Finally came to visit the Williamsburg location last Monday. Perfect that we were in around the area since they have Happy Hour $ 1 Oysters every Sunday and Monday. That day there were two kinds — one from Long Island and another from Virginia. We ordered a half dozen of each, 4 tea smoked and the scallop ceviche. They also had a two dollar off special for the Caipirinhas($ 9 from $ 11). Everything tasted delicious and the space is gorgeous. Although I do prefer sitting at the bar and watching the chefs at work, this location has about a 12 person elevated seating area behind the bar. Groups more than 3 are more fitting here — it still feels intimate all the while providing a more private, spacious option also.
