Cutting Edge Barbers

Let me start by saying I’m VERY particular about how I get my hair cut. One of my biggest worries about moving to New York actually was leaving my barber of 6 years.
Anyway, I went into the shop very anxious. Dave ended up being the first barber that could take me. I said two sentences about how I like my hair cut and showed him one (crappy low res) picture and that’s all he needed. 20 minutes later I had a haircut that was even better than my hometown hair cutters.
HIGHLY recommend Dave/​the whole staff. They are very friendly and can really give you one hell of a hair cut.

Just went here this morning for the first time and we left impressed, will definitely head back next month. As the other reviews tend to state, there is evident care taken which makes all the difference.

How many of you have left a haircut store with a fake smile, thanking the person who cut your hair, only to run back home, wash your hair immediately, and try to style it in a way that will «enhance» the gigantic mess that was left on your head? Your only consolation is that your hair will grow back and that the mess is only a temporary problem.
If you would like to avoid this kind of experience every month, I would recommend getting a haircut from Dave. The difference is not only of skill, but of intention. Dave cuts hair because he considers it a craft that he genuinely enjoys. It’s not something he does because he kind of likes it; it’s something he does because he considers it an artistic pursuit.
One thing I would like to mention is that there seems to be a general assumption that a barbershop is not as good as a salon. This is probably because the old school notion of a barbershop is now a rarity, and because salons tend to advertise themselves in a flashy manner. Cutting Edge, however, is an anachronistic treasure find and their work is the only advertising they need to set them apart.
For once in your life, why don’t you see what it feels like to actually get a haircut you like?

Dave is the man! Gives 1000% attention to all haircuts. Been cutting since he was 14. If you want a haircut as you describe go to cutting edge. Any one of the guys will hook you up. This is 5 min walk from my house and if I ever move I’ll come back here just to get cut.

I used to go to a salon in Williamsburg. I even admitted that and they still served me and were nice. Great cut, great hot shave. I think I have a new go-​to in my neighborhood. Cutting Edge is a great barber shop.

Best barbershop in Brooklyn hands down!!! Dave and crew will get you right no matter if you’re black, white, or whatever. I’ve been going for two months and have never had a bad cut. For the most part it looks the same if not better than the last time I got a cut. Price is reasonable and customer service is superb.

Visiting from California and thought id check this place out vs. the supercuts next door. Glad i did. Great haircut. One of the best I’ve ever had. The guys are really cool and friendly and they enjoy what they do. The attention to detail is what impressed me the most. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

This has been my go-​to spot for about six months now. I have Asian hair and been going to Asian salons for the longest spending a ton of money. I was honestly a little skeptical of going to a barber. But, I’m so glad I made the switch. Dave takes care of you and makes sure you look fresh the moment you step out that door. I seriously get good looks from people while walking on Montague on my way to the subway. Friends, co-​workers and family all approve of it. I’m from Queens and still come out to Brooklyn Heights to get my hair cut by the amazing crew at Cutting Edge Barbers.

I was looking to get a haircut and my friend recommended me cutting edge barber shop.
When I walked in the first thing I noticed was that all the guys greeted me and made me feel welcomed. The place is very clean, I sat in the first chair his name is Dave I explained what kind of haircut I wanted and he made it happen for me. I also got a hot towel shave there, that was a great experience, he is so good with the razor. Support this barbershop this group of guys are all great barbers.

I received a straight razor shave here a few weeks ago. This was definitely one of the best shaves I ever received in my life — not a single hair was left when the barber was done! The barber was very courteous and polite, and was gentle throughout the shave.

Been coming here for the past 1 year now. Dave is just overall and awesome guy and the rest of his barber crew and really nice guys. He makes you feel welcomed, not uncomfortable. He always asks what style or haircut you want instead of assuming that you «need» a certain type of haircut. He is respectful. His haircuts have always been on-​point and the prices are reasonable! Keeps me coming back.

After jumping around from barber to barber here in Brooklyn heights and Dumbo, I’ve finally found a place that gets the job done with amazing results every time.
I’m glad i discovered this place when it newly opened and I’ve been going back ever since.
Dave is an amazingly skilled and great all around guy, he’s spent time to teach me how to style my cut and gives great advise on what to do when I wanted to change it up. His attention to detail is always on point.

Out of frustration and inconsistent hair cuts I use to get, I decided to try this place and am glad I did. I was hesitant at first because I was accustomed to the factory down the street, but have now become a regular. These guys are great. The level of service is impeccable. They’re really friendly, patient, and actually care to get to know their customers. That’s what I was missing from the other neighborhood shop.
Aside from the friendly atmosphere, they give great haircuts, especially Dave. I’m picky when it comes to hair since a lot of barbers (and even stylists) tend to mess up short (asian) hair. This place definitely gives the best haircuts for the money. If you’re in the area or are frustrated with the other options around here like I was, you gotta go with Dave and the crew. It’s a great local shop that deserves your patronage.

I’ve been coming here for almost a year and it’s been great. I also randomly ran into a buddy of mine while he was waiting for a cut, and he’s been coming here for a good bit, too. The barbers are nice guys. Dave’s a hard worker and knows what he’s doing. I have no complaints whatsoever and will be going to this barber as long as I’m in BK.
Added bonus, it’s in a nice location with things to do in the area, so you can run some errands, grab some dinner, etc…

I wanted to wait before posting a review until I got a cut here three times. The place is clean, the tunes are good, they have a flat screen TV, and my haircut has been spot on every time. Dave (the owner I guess) confidently cut my hair and gave me a nice straight-​edge razor neck shave at the end.
I was a loyal customer of the other local barbershop a few blocks away– and still love their style– but I haven’t waited more than 2 minutes to get my cut here, for the same price, and for the same quality.
I think it’s really important to support this local business. Next door at the chain haircut place, they’ll charge you more for a cut that’s twice the amount of time. This place should stick around… so bring the kids, bring a friend… let’s keep them up!
And for those that care– I know I do– this place may seem very sporty and bro-​y… but they welcome and accept all types of guys.
