My favorite place around the neighborhood to go — places to sit, plenty of machines in good condition, clean, and cool. I only do my own laundry, so I can’t speak for the drop-​off service.

Always a good experience! The folks that work at night and on the weekends are super kind! There’s only been one time my clothes were not completed by the 5pm time (in the six months I have been going there weekly).
FYI: sometimes in the mornings, they aren’t open by the listing time. It’s usually one guy that has to open it and sometimes he runs late.

I use the drop-​off service at Cleancity: they are unbelievably quick and the prices are very reasonable. My clothes are neatly folded and smell neither too strong nor too weakly of detergent when I pick them up.
I drop my dry cleaning with Dulce and then my laundry here. Obviously if you’re dropping off delicate clothes that should be done in cold water or hand-​washed, you’re asking for trouble. It’s a drop-​off service. I should say, however, that I accidentally left a pair of dress slacks in my laundry bag, and someone here took the time to wash them in cold water/​low-​heat dry. I couldn’t believe it! I was very impressed, having written the pants off as ruined as soon as I realized I’d left them in my laundry bag.

Definitely the best laundry place in the area. Always same day service unless you go late afternoon. Clothes are folded nicely and they usually separate my and my fiancé’s clothes which makes them easy to put away. Despite what their sign says, the do not do dry cleaning. They do not have a pickup/​delivery service. Good price and friendly staff!

Great price, great service. I’ve been only once so I can’t write about consistency but I was thoroughly satisfied with my drop off experience here.

New to the neighbourhood I decided to give Cleancity the benefit of the positive Unilocal reviews and give the drop-​off service a whirl.
I made the 5 block journey with the 35 lbs of laundry we’d accumulated since our arrival to NYC and was met by two friendly staff members who quickly weighed the load, indicated that it would cost me $ 22.70 (for 35lbs) and happily said they’d add some bleach to the white load.
6:30pm and the woman serving me said that I could collect it at 9:30pm — Seriously? It’s hard to deny that is good value for great service.
We arrived to collect the load, by this time I’d rallied my husband to help with the weighty haul, at 9:20 thinking we’d wait out the 10 mins however our washing was clean, dry, neatly folded and ready to go.
This is the second time I’ve used a drop-​off service and er on the side of OCD when it comes to washing, bleaching whites and just doing it properly.
I have only good things to say about the whole experience, except perhaps the part where I lugged a 35lbs load 5 blocks, but it’s hard to say whose fault that it :-)
Pro Tip: As Newbies to NYC we discovered that laundromats are the one place you are not expected to tip, even if you are extremely impressed with the service.

I chose this laundry place based on the positive reviews on Unilocal. Unfortunately, I cannot give Cleancity the same type of praise. I’ve had several mishaps there in only the few times I have been. Though the price is fair, I don’t think that means I should compromise my clothing. I’ve had a couple items come back with brown/​blank gunk on them. Honestly, I have no idea what in the world it was, but I will never be able to wear those clothing items again.
Also, the last time I went and dropped my laundry off in a certain, large laundry bag, I didn’t even get my bag back. I swore that I saw the exact same laundry bag being used for someone else’s laundry on my way out, so it’s possible they mixed them up. They didn’t even mention the missing bag; instead, they just put my laundry in with my boyfriend’s bag.
Yes, it’s nice having everything folded, but I’d rather my clothes come back without any random gunk on them and have my property returned as well.

I have never actually done my own laundry here but I have used their drop off services for over a year now. The staff is so nice and as soon as they see me come in the door they have my clothes waiting for me. If you need something with a quick turn around, they usually can get it done within a few hours. I hate the idea of moving out of my neighborhood just for the fact that I would have to find a new drop off service!

The prices for their drop-​off services are great, the staff is friendly, and the laundry is clean and impeccably folded. I don’t send anything too precious and there have been a few minor mishaps, but the staff is always contrite and does their best to make amends. I’m so grateful that this is the laundromat closest to me – I never have to worry.

Have been going to this laundromat for the past 8 months. I’m used to living places with washers and dryers so this is my first time having my «own» laundry place. I have never come here to actually do my laundry, so this review is based entirely on their drop-​off services.
What I like the most about the business is that they seem to be pretty quick. I usually drop my clothes off in the morning and if I stop by at the end of the work day my clothes will be done. Your receipt will also give you an estimated time of completion, but they are usually conservative with what they put on your receipt and if you call ahead will let you know the status of your order.
Worth noting is that depending on who is there your clothes will be folded differently. One of the guys folds all my shirts inside out, which may annoy some, but I don’t care. They also just put all of your socks in a bag.
Finally, while I don’t have much to compare it to, the prices seem reasonable to me. I have attached a picture of the «menu.» At the moment it is $ 6.50 for 1 – 8 pounds and an extra .60c per pound after that.

Did laundry here once. The staff was very friendly, the place looked clean and the machines were new. BIg TV if you want to hang out while waiting for your laundry. Prices were from the low side.

The new management has totally remodeled and put in new awesome machines plus they are really nice people too. Doing laundry here used to be a really ghettoy experience but now it’s all shiny and new and goes really fast.

They have recently re-​vamped the entire place, put in new washers and driers, and of course changed some of the pricing.
I can not comment on the quality of handing over my laundry as I’ve always been one to do it myself however it appears they do a good job as I regularly see people dropping off and the employees working on washing, drying and folding.
I’ve found that it is a clean, and fairly enjoyable place to sit for the hour or so it takes to wash and dry. I have also found the staff to be extremely helpful, always around to turn your dollars into quarters if their dollar machines are acting up (which doesn’t happen too frequently). They have also changed channels, if there aren’t too many people, to a show — or sporting event — should you express interest.
For a small washer it is $ 1.75 and an extra $.25 for each should you want an extra rinse or pre-​soak. (I truthfully don’t know the larger prices off the top of my head). The driers are large enough to comfortably fit 2 loads of wash and dry in a little over half an hour (on hot) or around 40+ minutes on medium (depending on how many towels vs. light weight fabrics). They are now $.25 for 8 minutes so I simply put in a dollar and go back to watching their tv. They have carts you can use to wheel around the place and should you drive, with many bags of laundry as I’ve seen some people do, they will help you load it back into your car once cleaned.
While I have never had any issues my roommate has mentioned (which is why only 4 out of 5 stars) that whenever he does his bed-​sheets he notices extra spots on them however as I have never had this issue with any of my sheets, towels, or cloths I can not say much else.
Overall it is a pretty clean and well run place with helpful and friendly staff.

Read closely if you value your clothes!!!
Like most, I have a million things to do, and not a lot of time to do it. When I discovered this laundromat down the street from my apt, I was elated to have a convenient and affordable alternative — but BEWARE!
The second time I brought my clothes to be washed, the colors returned dull. This time around, I pre-​sorted and explained to the employees how I wanted my clothes to be washed. Whites with whites, colors with colors. I left and returned shortly after they placed my clothes to wash and found my whites, bright pinks, bright blues, and oranges all together — and to top it off they were adding bleach! I stayed around to see the condition of the clothes as they come out, to see all of my colors discolored from the bleach, and the whites no longer white.
Unapologetic, the employee tried to throw my stuff in the dryer telling me that he washes perfectly all the time. In the end I now have two loads of totally unwearable clothing. I had to argue with them, to not pay as I am now out of formerly good clothing, and on top of that wasted time.
So, if you value your beloved clothes as I do, DO NOT GO THERE! Lesson learned, I’ll add washing clothes to my list of to-​dos or find a more reputable place.

This Laundromat is fantastic! Owners and employees are incredibly nice and respectful. When I needed help with one of the machines, the owner didn’t hesitate to help me out, and when my shoes popped open the dryer door, and I wasn’t there, they pulled them out, and replaced my clothes and turned the machine back on!

Ok so I’m a California girl where most all apartments or houses come accessorized with a washer and dryer. Finding a laundromat and then proceeding to do laundry in the snow was something I dreaded when I moved out here.
When I lived in Boston for a year, I had the luxury of a washer/​dryer in my basement and I always wondered how others lugged their dirty clothes to the laundromat in the freezing cold.
After having a not so good experience at this other spot on Nostrand Ave between Union and President, I decided to wholeheartedly search for a suitable alternative.
And then I met 846 for the first time last week. Dropped my clothes off and paid 14 bucks for about 2 loads of laundry. The clothes were organized and stacked accordingly, folded impeccably (even my thongs were folded– who does that?!), and the guy who runs the place is just so helpful and friendly.
I decided that since winter hasn’t come yet, I would start doing my own laundry (there are $ 2.50, $ 3.50 and $ 4.50 machines depending on how large your loads are and then it’s $.25/​10 minutes for drying). The machines are in fact a bit dingy on the outside, but it hasn’t affected my clothes AT ALL so far.
P. S. The folks that come through this laundromat are also really endearing and friendly.
P. S.S. There is plenty of seating to rest your twinkle toes and a decent sized TV that is always on ABC– good stuff!

Plenty of old washers and dryers, different sizes, decent prices, albeit the drabness of the place. Ring a doorbell bell to get some change from your cash.
Our laundry came out fine, so no complaints!
