City Line Driving School

I needed a driving school but passed on this one cus I found another one a little bit cheaper. Worst mistake ever! 3 failed road tests later (embarrassing, I know), I finally decided to give this school a try. I’m still upset I didn’t choose this school sooner. I had three lessons with one of the guys (wish I remembered his name!) and it was awesome. He was so calm and informative. It also helped that he was my only instructor so he could track my progress. I would recommend this place to anyone! Happy to say I got my license on my first road test with them! To think I would’ve saved so much time and money had I not passed on this place!

This is an amazing school with great customer service and reasonable prices. I took the 5 hours class and my driving lessons at this location. I was extremely nervous as a first time driver but the instructors William and Pete made me feel comfortable and at ease. Both instructors took their time explaining and gave me constructive criticism on my driving. They both gave me confidence and encouragement to pass my driving test. I would highly recommend this school to everyone.

This is a family business that has reasonable prices, and it’s worth so much more.
I’m a guy who was living abroad for a few years. During the time my NY license got expired. So coming back, I had to start from scratch. But being that I hadn’t been behind the wheel for so many years, I had to get the cobwebs out, so I decided to take a few driving classes. I got my permit on my own. They have the 5 hour class available here and all. Everyone here is very easy to talk to, friendly, and respectful.
Johnny is the man of the hour. Many times I arrived early since it’s right there in the neighborhood. He always calls an hour or two ahead of time to make sure you don’t miss your class. The local kids, and adults who pass by all know him by name. That tells ya that they’ve been around for years and have a good reputation. He’ll always answer the phone. There’s never any annoying voicemails, or answering machine services telling you to press two for español. Its like I’m calling a close friend or family member just casually picks up and says hi. except, of course he’ll say Cityline. My point is, even the simplest phone call feels comfortable.
First, I had to take the 5 hour class. It wasn’t boring at all. The owner of the location Joe gave us the class from beginning to end. Of course we had to watch the 1980’s safety movie. Which was alright cause what that film lacked in liveliness, he more than made up for with his charisma. He made sure the class is serious, yet at the same time entertaining enough so nobody fell asleep. He’s an awesome guy with a great sense of humor. Kinda reminded me of George Lopez in a way. The time went by really quick. We all got a few laughs. And before you know it we were all signing papers and out the door.
While taking my lessons, the instructor Pete helped me correct myself where I had to. Understand that I’m 30 years old. So before I signed up or even considered lessons, I thought would be embarrassing to drive around in a car with student stickers. But I have to admit, I felt like such a kid again, taking driving lessons, and It’s a good thing I did too. He was patient with me, never jumped down my throat about any mistake, no matter how big or small it was. In every class he reminded me about everything that I needed to know that pertained specifically to me. A lot of people reading this are going to think «big whoop, you’re 30 and you’re happy about passing a driving test.» The big picture here is that we all know ourselves better than anyone else knows us. I know that I can be pretty stubborn and hard headed. For Pete to be my instructor and get through to me is a big deal. The only way a student gets a good grade is if he has a valuable teacher. He pointed out my faults, where I needed to improve, and most importantly he helped me work on everything I needed to in order to pass the test. AND I DID.
Now it’s time to work on getting my CDL.
