Building Blocks Daycare

1 year later and I can’t ask for anything better. I feel secure every time I leave him at the door. Thanks building blocks. Thanks to all those wonderful teachers and directors.

We were walking down 20^th avenue this past Saturday and saw there was an open house at this day care. I’m actually expecting to deliver any day now so we aren’t exactly looking for day care yet but as a soon to be mom we thought it would be fun to just take a glimpse. There was another couple with a child inside speaking with the owners so my husband and I just spent some time looking around and discussing the future. First thing I noticed was the child gate at the entrance which seemed brilliant and I don’t recall ever seeing those before at daycares (from younger sibling). We also particularly loved the warm blue color of the walls and how great all the kids artwork was. Everything was displayed so organized and with such intention, clearly very caring teachers and the place seems to to be run in a very organized manner. There’s a really adorable check in station where the kids take their picture cards and place it in the correct slot indicating that they’re present at school that day and they have to flip their card to the correct side. The little kids bathroom was also precious with perfect little sized toilets and sinks. I also visited the adult bathroom which was clean and had a large changing table in their for privacy so teachers can change the smaller kids diapers I guess. Personally I wouldn’t send my kid to daycare in diapers but it’s good to know they accept kids that are. When we finally got around to speaking with the owners I was actually surprised they were owners and not teachers. They’re a fairly young couple and in speaking with them we learned they are in fact certified teachers themselves so they’re not just in it for the business aspect. They genuinely care about the children’s education and development and oversee the curriculum they teach and make sure the teachers they hire are performing to the same high standards they would expect for their children. They only had I believe 1 spot available for registration as of now so we decided to wait list just in case for when my son turns 2 since it seems like they’re pretty popular in the area. I’m writing this review mostly for myself so come time in 18 – 24 months from now when I’m on a real daycare hunt I will remember what a wonderful impression this daycare left on us. I also LOVED the enclosed backyard play area. Generally I’m a paranoid kind of person who’d probably prefer my kids stay in doors when in day care but it’s so secure and private I don’t think anyone would have any security issues with it. There are also cameras inside the daycare all through out, I forgot to ask if parents have access to the live video footage during daycare hours but it’s still nice to know that cameras are present recording the teachers keeping them on their toes for sure. Hope this helps some other mommies out there as well.

My husband and I happened to be passing by the daycare while on a walk with our nephew, during 1 of their open houses and peeped inside. We had heard such positive praise about this day care from many of our friends around the neighborhood and wanted to check it out for ourselves. As soon as we entered, a feeling of warmth, family and care surrounded us. The owners were extremely pleasant, warm and attentive. The teachers were all very engaging and immediately took our little nephew and integrated him into the group activity that was going on. I immediately noticed the kids artwork proudly displayed around the room along with interactive stimulating graphics all around. In addition, it was hard to miss how spotless and orderly the day care was which brought a smile to my face. I was also impressed with the professionalism and the education background of all of the teachers and the owners. Our nephew was having such an amazing time with the kids and teachers that it was hard to take him away. My brother in law came back the next day to enroll him and raves about this daycare every day!

Clean and beautiful space for my daughter to spend her days. The staff are dedicated to promoting her development both mentally, emotionally and physically. They spend time outdoors everyday, which is important. The food is high quality. My daughter loves the teachers and assistants and talks about them all weekend. I highly recommend them!

This daycare is excellent. I brought my kids in after attending the open house a few weeks ago, and they fell in love with the caring teachers and friendly owners. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and my kids look forward to attending on a daily basis. Highly recommended!

The new management have really turned the place around. The staff is very friendly and accommodating with the children, and always accessible to the parents. The space is clean, safe and tailored to a healthy learning environment. Children’s art projects and accomplishments can be seen throughout the location. The overall feeling is that of a supportive, caring and positive environment for children to learn and develop.

My daughter attends this daycare. She always comes home learning something new everyday, and for first time is excited to go to daycare.
I’m extremely impressed with the teachers and how they always reach out & communicate with me. As a parent I find the communication and hands on approach very important.

First off let me start by saying they are under new management !!! The new owners are very nice and friendly. Nice clean and organize environment for the kids, the curriculum is well thought out and effective, teach your kids to be creative and give them the necessary tools to start kindergarten. They care for kids like it’s their own, as a pArent I’m happy and confident to leave my daughter in the hands of these incredible teachers. I don’t have enough words on how grateful and thankful I am to have such a great day care right next to me and I am so happy see and hear first hand from my child how happy and how much she likes her daycare and teachers. Almost like family. Keep up the great work to the staff at building blocks.
