Brooklyn Bridge Park

This place is phenomenal. One of the most underrated places in NYC and this place is put together very nicely! Lots of different spots to take photos, hang out, bring a date, and such. There’s a mini beach, garden, merry go round! Wait, there’s a merry go round? Don’t believe me? Go check it out yourself!

If you are in Brooklyn, and you happen to miss this?!, then I don’t know how you have planned your NYC itinerary. This got to to be one of the most icon tourist scene on everyone’s list. Walking on the bridge is one thing, coming down here and wait for sunset at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory is a whole different thing! This can be date night, friends & chill, just cuz’ kind of hangout destination. You can dress whatever you feel comfortable but please be public appropriate: D I can spend hours here, and truly appreciate how beautiful the city is! And this essentially might be just what people come to Brooklyn for! Don’t believe me? Just take a look at the picture I snapped after sunset.

I’m in Love with the park and everything that it has to offer. The scenery of Manhattan is priceless. This is now my favorite park of all times.

I was amazed to see the expansion that the Brooklyn Bridge Park has undergone since my visit last Summer. Starting from under the Manhattan Bridge to Furman Street and Atlantic Avenue, visitors to the Brooklyn Bridge Park can walk, bike or run along 1.3 miles of the East River water front. The Brooklyn Bridge Park can be reached from walking or cycling over the Manhattan or Brooklyn Bridges and following the plethora of signs once in Brooklyn to the park.
The East River Ferry also makes a stop the Brooklyn Bridge Park/​Fulton Ferry Landing. Check the park’s calendar for activities and events taking place in the area, you will be disappointed. Free WiFi, childrens’ playground, dog park, picnic tables and benches with lots of open space to sit and relax awaits you on your visit to the Brooklyn Bridge Park; let me not forget to mention the magnificent grand views of New York City’s East River and lower Manhattan. Don’t worry about getting hungry, several restaurants and the famous Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory can be found along the route.
I highly recommend a visit to the Brooklyn Bridge Park.

This place was awesome. Really great for an out of town Sunday visit to Brooklyn. Kids loved it, lots of places to eat and lots of green space to run around.

We wanted to walk here to catch the Manhattan Skyline at Sunset and we did. We didn’t know about Grimaldi’s pizza place and we were wondering why so many people were lined up out the door. Found out after! Anyhow… loved the water front park there where we sat and took amazing night photos of The Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan Skyline. Beautiful evening and walk. It was the high point of my trip to NYC. Despite my feet hurting, it was well worth the view! I’d love too see more of Brooklyn after this, but just didn’t have the time. So, if I ever go again I’ll make a point of it!

Best views of NYC, plenty of seating and cool areas to explore. Awesome at sunset and stunningly beautiful after dark.

Lovely view, lovely city. Of all the stories you hear about New Yorkers being rude, it’s just plain wrong! We’ve been here 2 days and everyone has been so helpful and polite. The view from the park is amazing during the day and almost magical at night. The lights from across the river make you feel as if everything around seem so surreal. Definitely a spot to see!

I thought I was a Cali-​kinda-​girl but NYC made me fall in love with it all over again and change my heart. I love its energy, hustle and bustle, the constant struggle, the realness and rawness of the city which breeds so many different cultures and ethnicities together. This city is where dreams are made and crushed.
Are you wondering why I’m ranting? I’m ranting because this is the place which made me fall in love with NYC all over again. You can watch the Manhattan skyline while seeing the Brooklyn bridge looming large on the side. You can choose to grab pizza from one of the famous pizzerias nearby or an ice cream cone or maybe those yummy chocolate chip cookies from Jacques. Whatever you choose to do, don’t forget to set some time to just stand and take it all in and dream a dream — after all this is what Empire State of mind is all about!

I always tell visitors to the city to check this place out if they are in Brooklyn. There is so much to see here. You get amazing views of the Manhattan skyline from the water here. From west to east, here are some highlights of this park:
–On the west side, you will find soccer fields, volleyball courts, basketball courts, handball courts, and a roller skating rink! This area is well maintained and clean. Something for everyone and all for free
–On the part near the Brooklyn Bridge is a Water Taxi ferry that will take you across to Manhattan, the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory with its delicious handmade ice cream, and the famous River Café. The River Café on the boat is a little pricey but a great place for a romantic dinner.
–Between the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge, you will see Jane’s Carousel. This is a nice classic style merry go around for kids.
–The DUMBO part of this park features a nice park for sitting and hanging out with great bridge and city views.
–There is a bike trail that stretches the length of the park, and a Citi Bike station to rent bikes if you don’t have one.
Brooklyn Bridge Park is simply an amazing place to spend the day with friends and family.

Brooklyn Bridge Park!
My favorite park in NYC. I spent far more time running in Prospect Park and Central Park but Brooklyn Bridge Park is far smaller than both and feels wonderfully quaint in comparison. I used to go here with just my book bag and a blanket. I would lie in the park reading books and I often fell asleep there. If you did that in Prospect Park someone might try to jack you.

Your happy place. It’s where you go to let all that garbage that’s bringing you down in life. Whether it’s the stress from your job, shortage of cash, your children… no wait they’re our future. We need them.
For my 700^th review I’m gonna let you know about Brooklyn Bridge Park, one of my happy places.
The image of the Brooklyn Bridge with the Manhattan backdrop is as iconic as iconic gets. The view is just as great as the first time I saw it as a kid. This is the best place to get some great pictures.
The park is pretty big, ranging along all the piers. There’s plenty to do. Volley ball, basketball, movie screenings, BBQs. This park has it all. The BBQ grills are provided by the city, just get there at a good enough time to claim one for yourself. There are sports leagues setup which you can join. And what can beat a viewing of Sharknado right on the waterfront.
There’s a section devoted to kids. They have mini parks within the park. A slide park, swing park, sand park, and a pretty sweet sprinkler setup. Children love it.
While it was sad to see Smorgasburg go, I had plenty of fond memories of it while it was there. I’m sure they’ll get something good there sometime soon, to replace it. If you wanted a nice walk around on a nice day, this is a top spot. If you get tired just find a spot by the grass and park yourself down. There are several places along the park where you can get something to eat or drink, make a lunch or dinner out of it.
Coming here when it’s nice out, you don’t have a care in the world. Good thing we’re six months away from it being nice out. Make sure you mark you calendar.

Quite a lovely park. Nice air conditioned restroom facilities in addition to cute paved pedestrian walkways with trees, mini beach, and sweep vistas of the Manhattan skyline pierced by the Brooklyn bridge. It’s quite a site. I highly recommend this little park for New York visitors.
Take the subway to Brooklyn heights, walk the promenade and this park, then walk the bridge back to Manhattan. The view is much better walking toward Manhattan.

Beautiful park with a beautiful view! You can see everything ranging from Manhattan to the Brooklyn Bridge to Brooklyn, all with a great view of the water too.
There’s ample space in this park, so you never feel cramped or have difficulty finding a spot. If you walk through the park along the water, you can see all types of funky sculpture benches and artwork, as well as big grassy areas to play in. There’s a pier where kids can do outdoor games/​water activities like kayaking or swimming, which seemed super fun.
I had a wonderful afternoon walking through the park and reading my book. Next time, I want to bike across Brooklyn Bridge into the park (I heard there’s bike valet!)

So many amazing things down here. I recommend walking the bridge from
Manhattan, wearing sunscreen, and comfortable shoes! See the art, grab ice cream (or grimaldis!) see the glass house, and take the ferry to smorgasburg on a saturday, or experience smorgasburg here on a sunday!

This has become my go-​to spot whenever I need to refocus and reflect. There are several things to do here… you can kayak, enjoy free movies in the summer, Jane’s carousel is within walking distance… for $ 2.00 you hop on the iconic merry-​go-​round and be a kid again, basketball courts are available, soccer field and volleyball court on Pier 5, sprinklers on Pier 2 and at the Atlantic Avenue entrance, ice cream and
Grimaldi’s pizza are within walking distance, zumba in the park on Sundays 4 p.m., sunrise yoga, sunset pilates, hip hop dance, chess tournaments, instructional basketball for youth, fishing, pop up pool, and all year round school aged programs… all events are FREE!
I love it here (can you tell).
Or you can just sit, reflect, people watch, and enjoy the breath taking views of lower Manhattan.
Parking is available, however it is expensive.
Public transportation is accessible and efficient in these parts.

I absolutely love parks! This park has now become one of my favorite places to venture to during a warm summer day. Initially, our goal was to just walk across the bk bridge but since we were already going to be in bk we decided to make a day out of it.
After researching activities to do in the city, I stumbled upon bk bridge park and the «please do not touch exhibit» by Jeppe Hein. It is a public fund art project and it was amazing. Yes, it is just a lot of benches placed in different locations through out the park with different shapes, but it was fun to walk and spot each one. The website provides you with a scavenger hunt picture list! I would say the scavenger hunt definitely made it 100x more exciting to participate in. If you complete the form and send it in you receive a gift!!! Lots of walking to do, but an amazing exhibit. This particular exhibit will be open until next April 2016 and I highly suggest people to go and check it out.
There are restaurants and a shake shack around the area which is convenient. This park has stunning views of the bk bridge, the city, and is an overall breathtaking experience. Next mission is to come here and have a picnic while having an spectacular city view during a summer day.

One of the best parks in NYC. It has an incredible skyline view of NYC and is constantly expanding pier by pier. We took a stroll one Saturday night from Pier 6 to Pier 1. Unilocal breaks down the park by pier but here’s what we thought was unique in each one.
Pier 6 begins at Atlantic Ave & Furman Street. There’s a Fornino pizza restaurant on the second floor of a building with public restrooms on ground level. There’s also a kids playground and volleyball court.
Pier 5 hosts the famous Ample Hills Creamery kiosk. There’s also a huge soccer field on the pier. Along the river are dozens of picnic tables. Everyone brought their own grills, which made this section of the walk smell delicious. It was also the most crowded part we walked through that night. Smorgasburg is also held here on weekend mornings. Before we dived into the Picnic area, I made sure to snap a photograph of the beautiful Brooklyn Bridge with the gorgeous Empire State Building in view.
Pier 4 is relatively tiny compared to the rest of the piers. It’s a small beach adorned with huge rocks separating it from the walkway. No swimming allowed.
Pier 3 is hard to miss. There are huge granite blocks stacked on top of one another on your right. Lawns are plenty and this summer’s Mirror Labryinth public artwork is here.
Pier 2 houses a huge recreation center from handball to basketball courts complete with lockers and water fountains. If you walk along the pier, you get one of the best views of the Brooklyn Bridge! The Empire State Building is no longer in view unfortunately.
Pier 1 has a little of everything. Food, playground, giant lawns, and the Granite Prospect, stone steps for climbing or sitting down as you admire the skyline and bridge. There is supposedly an Appearing Rooms pubic interactive art piece here during the daytime. I will definitely be coming back to check this out!

La récompense suprême d’une vue les plus belles de New York lorsqu’ on a arpenté le pont de Brooklyn Bridge.
C’est vrai que j’avais enchainé Statue de La Liberté, Wall Street juste avant alors je commençais à être sur les rotules, mais un dernier effort et puis on se pose, et on admire.

Es un lugar increible su vista hacia la estatua de la liberta, los rascacielos, el rio, simplemente sorprendente

Super Sicht auf die Skyline, aufs Wasser und genügend Sitzplätze für eine kleine Pause. Von hieraus hat man auch eine super Aussicht auf die Brooklyn Bridge von unten. Mit dem Wassertaxi oder der Fähre kann man schnell aufs andere Ufer kommen.

We came to Brooklyn Bridge Park for a nice view of the city. A spectacular view of the city is exactly what we got. The park was fairly empty so we were able to get a ton of great pictures. I definitely recommend coming here to relax and take in the views. Also, a great place to admire the Brooklyn Bridge as well. There was a little lemonade booth located in the park as well which was delicious, and much needed on a 90 degree day.
