Although there are many Pilates studio popping up all over Brooklyn, Lou is the only one who does one on one authentic Pilates. She works specifically on injuries of all kinds, specializes in back problems and gives your body the attention and strength you require to live a long and heathy life. The fact that she has been teaching for over 4 decades says it all. This method is amazing and you will see immediate results.
History
Established in 1997.
Lou started her Dance and Teaching Career in the early 1970’s in Los Angeles, Calif. In 1983, she relocated to New York where she continues to teach and educate people on the importance of Pilates, Health, Balance and how to live well. Her creative, energetic and caring approach to teaching Pilates has made her one of the best in her field. Her outstanding reputation has earned her a huge following throughout the Brooklyn neighborhoods. Lou also donates her time teaching down at the Brookyn Bridge Park on Pier 5 where she teaches her amazing Sunset Pilates Class every Wednesday night at 7pm for the summer month…2016 will be her 6th season.

In 1983 I brought my Jazz Dance and Fitness business «Lou’s Jazzbodys» from California to Brooklyn, NY. I joined Eastern Athletic Clubs where I became the manager of the Dance/Aerobic Department for both their Brooklyn clubs. I introduced Pilates to many clubs in 1995 teaching workshops throughout the NYC area.
In 1997 I opened up my neighborhood Pilates business «Body in Balance Studio» in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. I teach personal training classes to all levels and ages. My specialty is bad backs, rehabilitation, balance, core strength and posture.
Lou is also teaching a free class, «Sunset Pilates» down at the Brooklyn Bridge Park on Pier 5 every Wed. night. This is her 4th year giving back to the community for health and well being.
