Bj’s Wholesale Club

I love BJ’s, but there is room for improvement. I’ve only ever been to this location. It’d be great if there was someone on the floor who could answer questions. It isn’t as crowded as it use to be and my cashiers have always been efficient. Whenever I have a question, I can never find anyone. Great deals on baby supplies, sheet cakes, and frozen fruit.

This is the worst whole seller I have ever been to!!! I have a Costco membership and was giving Bj’s in this location a try because its closer to where I live. Every persons complaint about the lines and service is true. Lines are not well managed and you can tell theres always problems in this location because there is a police officer by the door! Anyhow came in today with my mother. This is the second time I’ve been in here after starting a membership. Today we got a few items about 30 in total and waited on one of these long lines. Its was so packed and the lines were everywhere, really unorganized. Once we get to the front where the cashier is, a manager comes to us and says” this line is only for 8 items or less”. We were confused, we had just spent over 30 minutes waiting on the line and there were people behind us with as much stuff in their carts as us. Alvaro who is the manager here, pointed at a extremely small illegible sign which said 8 items or less. He told us to get off and go to another line, we said we just spent 30 min here?! and who can read this from the back of the line. It not only shows the lack of respect, professional or just basic good customer service skills, he also get the police officer to tell us the same thing! Its embarrassing and even the cashier said to the manager that moving the sign to where it currently was is a problem because no one can see it. We stay in the line and only pay for 8 items. Other customers in the line we where in do the same, as they saw the whole ordeal and also dont want to get off line. Alvaro is a poor excuse for a manager and lacks basic skills to run a store this size. This kind of management is not only producing awful customer service, but cutting into their own profits if you’re having customer take items out their carts because of an issues like this which could have been solved pretty easily. I called and made a complaint about the manager, and will also report them to the BBB. I will also cancel my membership. In Costco they dont have an 8 items or less line, which for this Bj is a waste because everyone is usually buying a cart load of items. There were so many bad business decisions, aside from customer service experience, made that I don’t understand why you have a person like this managing the store. Horrible! don’t waste your time. I rather travel farther and get good service then to be treated like crap when Im spending my money in your store.

Pretty good shopping experience as a first timer. Spacious store with a lot of variety. Not much staff on the floor to ask questions to, but my time here was well spent since I managed to secure some bargains. When I was there the cashier lines weren’t long, so that was a plus for me.

As much as I LOVEEEE Bj’s! This location has to be the worst! The people there are just beyond rude! I was there for probably 2 hrs, and at least 3 different fights broke out! Over nonsense! And while waiting on line the people in front of me had their wallets stolen right from their cart! And the worst part about it was that when they approved the police office In front of the store he said he’s very sorry but there’s nothing he can do about it! Are you SERIOUS!!! I will definitely be going to a different location next time!

I hate going to this Bj’s. I heard of poor working state, but this is ridiculous!
For starters, the place is CROWDED. I’m currently in Mid-​Winter Break, since I go to school, and my parents brought me to Bj’s to get a few things. I thought that on weekdays the place wasn’t crowded. WRONG! It has 32 lanes but only has 10 cashiers there. They only had one express lane and even that was long.
The cashier didn’t know what she was doing. She took her sweet time bagging the lady in front of us, and holding her, us, and the rest of the line because she «didn’t know» how to scan the lady’s coat. I was glad to get out of there.
While I think «Never again» my parents decide that. I gave it 2 stars because they have good deals when it comes to food and prices.

Be prepare to wait more than an hour to check out. while you wait on line all you sniff is sour milk from the old foods left behind near the registers. I will never go back here again, I rather go to the one on metropolitan avenue where’s it’s organize and it smells clean.

I rather pay more money & buy what I need weekly at Target & the supermarket than come here.
It’s always crowded.
Doesn’t matter what time of day or what day of the week you go.
There are never carts outside in the designated sections.
You always have to hunt for one.
I waited 45 minutes on the express line.
Not blaming the cashiers because the customers are ignorant & think that they are above following rules.
Saturday afternoon and there were only 8 registers open.

Do you guys need more people to work?
I’ll pick up a shift or 2.
I only come here to stock up on bottled water, Snapple, & mini cupcakes.
(You know the cakes from BJs are delicious!)
Like previous reviewers said, it went downhill since BJs started taking EBT.

I have been going to the BJ’s at Gate Way for the Past 11 years. Yes, that’s when they open. I never complain due to the fact that they are servicing a very big community. Slow Cashiers, long lines, incompetent supervisors… I let it go all these years. Today was the worst service ever… what makes it worst??? The Manager and Assistant manager… I was not able to get the price offered on the coupon… Waited 20 minutes at the Cash register… Yes! You just paid a cashier just standing there waiting for an answer. … Incompetent leadership. No wonder the customer service sucks…

Worst deli department ever .At least 20 minute wait every time and that’s being generous. Manager couldn’t care less. I’ll never shop at that deli department again.

Way better then costco by queens center mall way more selection i have both and this is right off the belt parkway if you have a car the lines get crazy at certain times try 2 go at the end of the day or very beggining but it is bjs so you knew a crowd was coming mandatory 2 go here every weekend my cheap ass =) lol oh and the parking situation is free and you dont have to bring your shit across the street 2 where you payed 2 park your car and its elevator less lol

I feel like bjs just doesn’t have enough variety. If I go there like 2 more times, I’ve pretty much tried everything in store. One thing I HATE about this location, is omg them lines i felt like i needed to stand for 5 hrs to get out. Thank goodness they opened a register and gurl was i flying right there, I aint gonna stay here for another hour.

Oh boy! Hate to shop at this bjs. But hey… it’s the closest by me. So I come to this one when I don’t feel like driving far out. The cashiers take forever to charge you. Long lines to pay and that’s no matter what day of the week you do your shopping.

Showed up to the auto service department with a screw in one of my tires, leaking air quickly. I asked if they could fix it and they responded «unless you bought the tires here there’s nothing we can do». This left a sour taste in my mouth, I’ll never shop, nor promote Bj’s.
Thankfully I made it to the nearest auto shop to have it fixed without further damage.

Try your best to get here as early as possible. It gets ridiculously crowded and all the registers are never open. I gave it two stars solely because of convenience. The shopping carts are horrible. good luck grabbing one that doesn’t squeak or rattle loudly.

I hate to say this but since they started taking EBT, the experience has changed.
Best time to go is early Sunday morning
Only 5 – 7 cashiers working at a time, with crazy lines

I understand that it is a busy location — as with most businesses on a weekend. I also notice that many reviews talk about this place as being really hectic, yes. However, I think it is important to point out to management that the workers/​cashiers are very unprofessional. As said before, it is understandable that there are challenges on weekends with the abundance of customers, long lines and what it seems like endless hours… BUT it is also essential to maintain a level of customer service — not attitudes and rudeness to others. I mean, if people are unhappy with their jobs, they should really seek and pursue better opportunities.
Meanwhile, this place is really busy for a fact. Yet the concern is that the cashiers seriously need to brush up on skills to be polite to others.

If you’ve been to one of these Wholesale Clubs, you’ve been to them all. Nothing spectacular about this one.

This BJs is always packed! The lines here are most often very long and most people have full carts or two even.
They should open up another BJs in the vicinity. It is way too crowded.
The good things about this BJs is they had good selection and keep things in stock.

They do give lots of samples which is cool
Tends to be crowded no matter what time I go so lines are long
Since it’s the closest one to me I tend to go there anyway
Still eh… could be better
