I just realized I never wrote a review of my Bindle & Keep experience, which is crazy because I tell everyone I encounter how great they are. I made a special trip down to NYC from Boston to have a tux made for my friend’s wedding. I had a vision for my suit and couldn’t find anything off the rack that I could wear confidently. Daniel knew exactly how to execute my vision for my tux – they nailed it. The only reason I don’t have 5 B&K suits by now is because I moved to California but I CANNOT WAIT for them to open up shop on the west coast. I highly recommend Bindle & Keep for anyone in the market for bespoke suits but especially for women and trans men who can never find a suit off the rack that makes them feel like themselves. Thanks for everything B&K! I wish you continued success.

I am required to wear suits for work and I’ve struggled to find clothes that fit my 5’2″ 155lb frame. I stumbled upon B&K through Unilocal and emailed the crew through their website. I heard back from Derek the same day (what?!) with a suggested time for my initial fitting. Derek was also very responsive from that day until the actual fitting, as I had a few more questions; this was my first suit fitting. I just love businesses that take communicating with potential customers seriously, even before a purchase or deposit has been made. B&K get 5 stars for that!
My actual fitting was with Daniel and he really put me at ease. Derek had shown me some fabric swatches when I arrived (25 minutes early, oops) so I had narrowed down some looks. Daniel showed me the features that my suit would have on the pants and jacket he was wearing. Another 5 stars for being a walking model of your product.
Overall, the experience was great. No complaints. The space is great, the options are fantastic, and they listened to what I both wanted and what I needed. Will update when I go for my final fittings.

Sheah was amazing! Helped my fiancé feel comfortable while making sure that she got exactly what she wanted. She made sure that every detail down to the button and threading was unique to her. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable custom made suit.

so sweet — super queer — super progressive. they have a new movie out being directed by lena dunham *yuck* but they were awesome and tailored by fiances suit for free99, when the other place she went to mucked it up.

I wear suits every day and have gone through drove of different suits from every retailer I can think of. Thinking I was rather knowledgeable of suiting to my surprise I was blown away by the level of service and quality coming from Bindle&Keep.
Service — scheduling appointments with Derrick is as easy as shooting him an email and getting same day response every time. Having someone come to your apartment within 48 hours and show you droves of fabrics, linings, and perform a fitting is at the highest level of customer service.
Fitting — Mariusz came by my apartment at 8pm upon my request on a Thursday evening. He is so knowledgable and gives lots of recommendations which is definitely needed when you are staring at 100’s of fabric swatches. I told him what I was looking for and he quickly was able to narrow down the swatch list to something manageable and offered suggestions to get me to an amazing color! It FAR exceeded my expectations when I finally saw my suit — it was a much lighter blue /​grey then what I thought and as a result I quickly turned around and bought 3 more suits from them the next week. The suits fit like a glove (mine on the first try for the jacket and only a little letting out in the thighs for my pants which was turned around in 4 days!)
I am delighted to know now that my endless pursuit for high quality custom suits and shirts is over. Bindle&Keep is my permanent home for my suiting and I don’t even have to leave my apartment ever again.

My husband had his suit for our wedding made at Bindle & Keep and we were both very pleased with the end result. Our fitter, Mateusz, spent a long time with us getting the measurements exactly right and waiting patiently while my husband went through *all* of the fabric. Daniel was also there for the initial fitting and had great ideas to throw out. My husband went back for a couple of fittings at their space near the Navy Yard, and ended up looking fantastic. I might go back for a suit for myself in the future.

After buying a suit from them, nothing else will ever compare. So long, dreams of a Hugo Boss suit that cost 3x as much! Perfect fit. Snug but with a range of movement, never fearful of a tear or rip. I feel like a million bucks in my B&K.
A whole lot of value for the price. I’d rather give these guys the extra for a suit I find excuses to wear than those Madison Avenue row folks who, for only a little bit less, give something I’m not excited to be seen in.
Seriously, is there a more miserable experience than shopping the Joseph Bank flagship? Compare that with a fitting with Daniel who answers all questions, is happy to fill in the blanks in his customers’ knowledge, and knows when to advise and when to push you to choose what makes you happy.

I have nothing but great things to say about Bindle & Keep.
I am currently in the process of having my second suit made, and I adore them and the suits so much that I surprised my partner with a suit for her birthday.
My initial suit fitting and experience was handled by Daniel, the owner and it was wonderful. He knows what he is talking about, is gentle with his suggestions and simply good people. He asked me to bring in some items of clothing (of mine) so he could understand my aesthetic better and thus make better recommendations. He gave me the quick custom suits 101 and the principles have remained with me ever since.
Since then I have gone back to have my second suit made, and my process was managed by Sheah at the new Bindle and Keep location. The experience was delightful, just like Daniel Sheah is simply good people, with good people vibes. She integrated my partner into the process (because I cannot make any decisions), and helped me work through concerns. She was very patient with me when I sent her about 10 emails and super prompt with responding.
Yes the process is going to take a while, 7 – 8 weeks before you see your suit for an initial fitting. These suits are handmade, in NYC and custom to each and every individual, of course its going to take «long». In my opinion spending that kind of money and having a custom suit ordered isn’t a super simple decision that is made in a second and the process to collect it matches the bespoke concept of this company. Even when you go in for your first fitting to pick out materials and have your measurements taken, it takes about an hour (or as long as you need) because they spend the time making sure you are happy. They do not run a sweat shop and so the process is time consuming, and rightly so!
Secondly the fit on my suit was perfection, it wasn’t initially, but within 2 fittings they got it right. Why, because they helped me communicate what I was feeling and thinking. Just a few days ago, I had my initial fitting for my second suit, and I had a little panic attack because I felt I looked too feminine (I lost weight and my hips suddenly made a loud appearance). I was willing to totally ignore it, but Sheah jumped up and came over to see how she could help me. She talked it through with me and made some micro adjustments to the back which instantly made me stop freaking out. She was completely attuned to gender identity and that is not common.
Thirdly, as mentioned I lost some weight, these guys adjusted my original suit at zero cost for me! Who does anything for free these days? And someone mentioned that buttons came loose the same is true for me and it is a little bit annoying but they fixed it up for me right away and it’s not like it doesn’t happen with my button downs from Brooks Brothers either. Only because something is bespoke doesn’t mean a button shouldn’t fall off.
Finally, pricing is fair. I think the suits have actually gone up a little bit in cost, but I think they are still entirely reasonably priced taking, quality, service, and outcome into consideration.
I am coming back for more.

I am very pleased with my experience with Bindle and Keep. Here are the reasons why:
Responsiveness– They responded within a few hours to my emails to set up appointments.
Quality/​fit– My suit fits perfectly. It looks well constructed, lots of lovely detail.
Ease/​comfort– I found the whole process rather easy and comfortable. I worked with Daniel and he took his time getting my measurements and helping me decide on the fabrics.
Timeliness– I was told that the suit would be ready in about 4 weeks and it was. I then had my first fitting. I lost some weight so the pants needed to be taken in. I was told that it would take about 2 weeks and it did.
I highly recommend Bindle and Keep and look forward to working with them again.

I used Bindle & Keep for a suit, and it was okay but not great. They cut the sleeves too short in the first instance and then they just lengthened from the end rather than from the shoulder so the buttons are like halfway up my arm. Also, weirdly all of the buttons on my pants (the zipper as well as the pockets) got loose really quickly, like they weren’t stitched that well. The lapel on the suit also doesn’t fall that well, it kind of flops over. When I pointed these things out, they were pretty unapologetic and uninterested in fixing anything.
The suit generally fits fine though, but Louis Purple is a much more high quality option for only a little more money.

My experience with Bindle & Keep was extremely positive. Daniel and Abby fit me for my first blazer and it came out absolutely smashing.
Here’s an account of my experience:
— I made an appointment online and Derrick was extremely polite and quick at scheduling me in.
— Daniel and Abby came to my house and walked me through the process. I’ve never done this before and was in dire need of a basic black blazer for my corporate job. As an androgynous person it was key I get a blazer that suits my body (no pun intended) and that didn’t make me look Melanie Griffin in «Working Girl.» They made me feel completely at ease with the process.
— Daniel then took my measurements as Abby showed my girlfriend the plethora of fabrics. It meant a lot to me that they involved her and made it as if we were hanging out with friends.
— After the fitting, it was on to selecting the fabric, lining, piping, monogram and more. The customization options are endless!
— It then took 4 – 5 weeks for the blazer to be created. (Note: it usually doesn’t take that long, they had to create my template since it was my first time.)
— Daniel then came over for my final fitting and «Voila!» I had the perfect skinny black androgynous blazer. The blazer fit right out of the bag, no additional adjustments required. He then also walked me through all the special, customized touches — I felt like I was getting a new car!
Needless to say, I’m very pleased and have worn my new custom blazer (dressed up and casual) numerous times in the past two weeks. It was pricey, but a very worth while investment. Every time I wear it to work, I get compliments galore.
I already have another fitting for my next blazer scheduled…

Amazing customer service and product. Derrick, Daniel and the Bindle & Keep team are extremely kind, helpful and professional. I am so happy with the experience and with my suit, I want to get another one just to do it all again. Highly recommend to those looking for a personal experience and a bespoke garment that you’ll feel great about for a long time to come.

So… I’m getting married and the truth is I just could not find an off the rack suit that came even close to fitting me. I’m a Trans guy and although to the average person on the street I look much like any other guy, the truth is however that under my clothes I hide some pretty serious curves that I really don’t like. When I started thinking about a suit for my wedding I knew it would have to be a bespoke suit if I was going to feel good in it. After a recommendation from an old friend who is a custom clothier on the west coast I arrived at Bindle and Keep and it has been a truly powerful experience. The fabric choices were stunning – they have so many beautiful fabrics to choose from. I gave them pictures of suits I like and they helped guide me towards a charcoal gray herringbone that I am in love with. Rae and Daniel paid a lot of attention to little details I wanted included for my suit and really tuned in to my «problem» areas which they assured me aren’t problems because my suit is made to fit me not some non-​existent person that off the rack suits are designed to fit.
I have never had clothes that fit me well, particularly pants. The first fitting was not perfect… I do admit. The top half (jacket and vest) were spot on but the pants missed the mark. However, they totally acknowledged their flaws as humans and had the pants remade for me and they are ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Truly these are the best pants I have ever owned. All of this happened in a matter of two months. The measurement, the fitting, and the remake were all completed in a very tight time frame for this kind of custom work and now I have an incredible suit that I feel better than I’ve ever felt in. I could not be more pleased with my Bindle and Keep suit. However, if you are not a patient and flexible person, B&K is probably not for you.
A lot of the reviewers on this site seem not to understand how bespoke suiting works. Perhaps they’re used to the convenience of off the rack suiting or they’ve only bought made-​to-​measure suits before: bespoke suiting is different from either of these options in that the entirety of the suit is designed by you and your tailor. This includes measurements to fit your body, yes, but also complete choice over fabric, lining, style, fit, small accents, number of pockets… I could go on.
My first Bindle and Keep fitting was October 24. They had responded to my initial email right away although they had to move my appointment around by one day. Daniel, the owner, was selected as my tailor. The day of, they pushed my appointment back a bit, but they called me to let me know of the delay and it was not a problem for me as I worked from home that day. Daniel came to my apartment, spent about an hour with me figuring out what my style is like, showing me options, and making suggestions when I didn’t know what I wanted. After he asked my budget he showed me all the fabrics that he had (my budget allowed me to purchase his highest price-​point fabric-​he told me that normally he doesn’t even show it to people because he doesn’t want to pressure them to go over-​budget). He had patience with me as I hemmed and hawed over fabrics both for the suit and the lining, and he was excited about my choices. After we were finished, he charged me 50% as a down payment and told me to expect it in six weeks.
Six weeks to the day, I called Bindle and Keep to ask if the suit would be in soon, and they told me they expected it in days and that they’d call back when it came in. Sure enough, it was in two days later and they scheduled with me for a fitting. I wanted a fitting with Daniel, who has been busy with the preparations for the B&K documentary Lena Dunham is making, so I had to wait a week. As it turned out, Daniel was called away on family business a couple days before my fitting so they sent someone else, but it only took a couple of days extra to schedule with the new tailor.
The suit was brought over and alterations were noted for the jacket and the vest, but the pants had been mismade and required extra time for their tailor to completely remake them. I was disappointed as I expected this would take an extra 6 weeks, and they warned me that because it was holiday season (my fitting had been in late December) things might get slowed down. Despite this, the pants and alterations on my jacket and vest were finished by January 10 (11 weeks and one day after my initial fitting) and Daniel came by for a second fitting. It was completely perfect-​fit for my body but still as masculine as I was hoping for, no more alterations needed for any of the items. Everyone was friendly and professional. And since my measurements have been saved, the next time I buy from the I’ll save tons of time on the process. Can’t wait.

Mixed feelings about this company.
Pros:
Got a suit that fits well and looks good. One of my best suits, I often get compliments.
They were very nice.
They know what they are doing.
Fair pricing.
Cons:
Slow process (suit takes a very long time), and so do alterations.
Stressful and confusing to get in touch with the company — they are very slow at responding to emails, which I think is unacceptable for a company that is supposed to be providing a highly personal service.
Very late to appointments more than once. I mean VERY late. Hours late.
Do not have a showroom (they come to your house), which sounds great in theory, but I think actually contributes to their inefficiency and lateness.

Bindle and Keep is the company you’ve been waiting for. As a woman who typically wears masculine clothing, shopping is always hard. B&K made all of my shopping fears and nightmares go away.
The process was super great and easy. They took exact measurements and made me feel comfortable during the whole process. Their attention to detail is amazing. After the first measurements were taken I got to have my fitting in person. The fit was pretty good, only needing minor changes. The suggestions made were spot on. When I received my suit the 2^nd time it fit like a charm! I couldn’t be happier.
Unlike a typical mens suit that pulls in all of the wrong places, B&K makes room for hips and curves. They put in secret darts that don’t show on the outside but accodate a chest. The shoulders aren’t too square, the pants don’t gap in the back. They literally addressed every issue I’ve ever had with formal wear off the rack. The ill fitted suit is a thing of the past. I even got a vest!
The craftsmanship is on point. The little details, the jacket lining, the pockets, it’s all so well done. And the little flourishes make the suit– the ticket pocket, the cuff details, my embroidered initials, it’s all so well made and looks so good.
There is no better feeling than putting on a pair of pants tailored just for you. The fact that B&K could make a mens suit fit a curvy lady and look good is worth every penny. And now that the suit fits, I can easily order suit separates from here on out.
I have recommended B&K to so many friends who cannot wait to look as fly as I do in my custom made, perfect fit suit.

This is my experience with B&K…I’ve tried to leave my opinion to the end and just present facts.
I contacted the company and spoke with Daniel (owner) last December to set up an appt for my cousin’s husband and I to be fitted for suits while they were visiting from DC. Mariusz, the sales associate, showed up at my appt on time and measured us each for one suit and a shirt. Initially, Daniel seemed pleasant while setting up the appt and Mariusz came across as very knowledgeable while taking our measurements. When Mariusz left, my cousin’s husband and I were both confident and excited that we would be receiving a great product. We both chose the $ 850 fabric option as the cheaper options seemed rather cheap and of poor quality. Its also important to note Daniel promised us the Gilt/​Groupon discount so the $ 850 price is for fabric that normally costs around $ 1250.
Red Flags:
1. Mariusz showed up at my apt with a very nice cashmere blend blazer, when I asked him if that was made by B&K he replied NO. Why would the sales person show in a jacket NOT made by B&K? At the time, I thought it was odd, but I overlooked it because of how knowledgeable Mariusz seemed to be.
2. My suit was supposed to take 4 – 6 weeks, on the 6^th week Mariusz told me he was sick and couldn’t drop my suit off for another week or two. Not a huge deal, but I think this is something that should be communicated by someone in the company. I wouldn’t have know anything unless I called.
The Suit:
1. Quite honestly the worst product I have every seen. The pants for the suit was completely wrinkled as if he removed it from a box just before coming to my apt and no one bothered to iron it. I asked for side adjusters and the pants showed up with nothing at all on the waist; I was told the side adjusters would be added at a later time. Lastly, the pants were way too big and the fabric was itchy and felt coarse. The jacket was stiff and didn’t fit me at all. It was 2 inches too short and was way too tight around the chest. The lining of the jacket pockets could be seen on the OUTSIDE of the pockets. That’s right, the lining was longer than the actual pocket. When I complained about all this to Mariusz, his response was I should have chosen the Sherry & Holland fabric (over $ 2000).
The outcome:
Luckily, my 50% deposit was refunded after I sent an email complaining about the product to Daniel. Initially, I thought this was because of the money back guarantee that was posted on their website (this guarantee has since been removed). I was shocked to learn that I was refunded ONLY because the mis-​cut jacket, being 2 inches too short, was indeed a factory mistake and it would be cheaper for them to simply refund me my money then remake the jacket. Furthermore, Daniel told me over the phone that he knew that my cousin’s husband and I were likely «browsers» when he learned that my apt was in Harlem. My cousin’s husband wasn’t as lucky and did not receive a refund (long story but same feedback regarding quality/​fit/​presentation etc…)
My opinion:
Fellow suit shoppers, there are dozens of MTM/​full custom options in NYC that actually value their customers and are eager to gain new ones; this company is NOT one of them. I work in finance and I have plenty of custom, MTM and off the rack suits so this is not my first rodeo. Its insulting for the owner of a company to make insinuations about where I live with respect to the value of my worth as a customer. It was disappointing that Daniel was never willing to take responsibility for the sub-​par product that his company was delivering. Oh well, I ended up purchasing 6 suits from MySuit on Madison ave. for my wedding (incl. groomsmen) and for work.

When my sister asked me to be her maid of honor for her wedding, I gladly accepted. Even more happily, she knew for damn sure I was not wearing a bridesmaid dress or any other dress for that matter. Unfortunately, I was told that I was not allowed to wear jeans and a t-​shirt. I started looking around for what I would wear and after checking out all my typical go-to’s trying to piece an outfit together, I realized that this wasn’t going to cut it. For what felt like an eternity googling things like «not super femme-​y women’s suits», «not super masculine men suits», «lesbian wedding outfits», and eventually «why does google not want me to find an outfit for my sister’s wedding?» I finally came across a dapperQ article featuring Bindle & Keep.
I immediately contacted Daniel, who within one day got back to me and we scheduled a fitting. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I met with him and could not have been more impressed, comfortable, pleased, excited, etc. He was so patient and accommodating and knowledgable and just excellent. I chose everything from the fabric, to the buttons, to the threading, etc, as well as brought a swatch of the bridesmaids dresses to try to match. A few weeks later, Daniel let me know my suit was ready. I literally have never worn anything that felt so perfect. The second I put my suit on I felt like an actual grown-​up — not like «man, I’m old» but like «Check out this professional, polished adult!» The suit fit perfectly and no additional fittings were needed.
Cut to the wedding on 4÷26÷14 — I never felt more comfortable and confident in anything. The color was identical to the rest of the bridal party. I received so, so many compliments. I was able to dance my butt off without feeling restricted. I had such an excellent time and truly feel like this was largely in part due to the fact that I personally felt so comfortable.
I could go on and on, but I strongly encourage you to check this company out for yourself.

Having yet another amazing transaction with Bindle and Keep I must say again, «Awesome,»
Daniel personally came to my house today as his regular tailors were out on other calls. Daniel knows how busy I am with work schedule-​wise so he made special arrangements for me. We spoke for over an hour. Talking about colors, styles, etc. He is a true visionary and an excellent tailor. If you need an exceptional suit with good follow-​up for life, Bindle is the way to go.

Daniel of Bindle & Keep is the consummate tailor and businessman. As a woman who wanted a tailored suit with an experience that was both professional and pleasurable, I could not be more happy with Bindle & Keep. Beautiful material, great advice for someone buying their first suit, information on all the details and an overall wonderful experience.
When the suit arrived and was in fact what I’d hoped for but needed some adjustments, Daniel discussed the changes with me, made the adjustments and mailed me my suit as ordered. He’s made a return customer out of me.
