I dropped off my car for an oil change and possible brake reapir on a Saturday morning and I was not contacted with an estimate until the following Monday afternoon. The advisor knew I was driving across country in a few days and purposely delayed my repairs so I would be forced to get them done at the dealership. He then quoted me thousands of dollars in unnecessary repairs and would only send me a breakdown of the estimate that so basic it made it hard to get other quotes. But I did discover that all of the prices were double to triple what I would pay anywhere else. I was forced to get my brakes done because of the limited time he left me with before my trip, but I told him I was getting my tires replaced somewhere else the day after I picked up my car. However, when I checked the paperwork upon pick up I noticed that he charged me for a tire rotation! Why would you rotate tires that are being replaced??? To top it all off, after having my car for over five days, it wasn’t even washed when I picked it up. And the brakes still squeak. And my alarm system is messed up. (I’m guessing they didn’t even do the work). I was ripped off, deceived, and pushed around from beginning to end on this experience. I will never return and I am reporting you to the better business bureau.

I have only had one experience here and would not return. This is a review for their repairs department. I made an appointment online clearly indicating that I would wait while my car is being fixed. I arrived there only to be told that I signed up to leave my car there for pickup another day. Since it happened to fall right before the holidays, it would be 3 days before I can pick it up. That is ridiculous because I even had an email confirmation from the site. They even called me to confirm the appointment the day before. Because I needed my car and couldn’t leave it for a few days, I just left. What a waste of time and gas!

I never write reviews of anything, but these guys are so bad I had to. STAY AWAY!!!
I had the exact same experience as the other folks. Needed a new coolant valve and they wanted to charge me 768 plus tax. (over 800!) Other dealers I spoke to were appalled, as were other mechanics I spoke to.
Your «check engine light» goes on, and the minute you walk into their door, you’re basically forced to do the repair with them, (and their outrageous fees) becuase you sign a paper saying you wither do the work with them or you pay a $ 228 diagnostic fee. (Other mechanics charge $ 95 for this, and some are even willing to waive it). Charlie, at Parkside Auto was super sweet and said he would do it for 500 MAX, but of course I had no choice, beause the dealer repair shop already had my car and I signed their «contract».
If you need to fix a recall or something, fine, but if you need ANY other repair, then take your car elsewhere.

Worst service center I’ve been to have a car fixed. Terrible management, rude employees, and inaccurate quoted finish times. The service rep that was provided to me disappeared for over 2 hours. No one in the building could find him to get an update on my car. I recommend staying away from bay ridge toyota completely. Someone should really investigate the operation there. My experience is that they have been very shady and have lied about required service in the past. Keep away

BE WARE!!! Service center THE WORST EVER! Big RIP OFF ! My car is leased 2014 from Toyota, i had it for one year. Came there to check 15 000 lease service, Made an appointment and spend there waiting 6 ++ hours! On top of that, be ready for a story from a technician (even if ur car is new) that you need pay $$$$ for mystery problem with your car. Not a single person left that place happy! STAY AWAY!!!

my comment is only targeted on car repair center. this place is only for those who has tons of money ready to be ripped off. they charge me $ 670 for just replace coolant control valve. $ 300 more than it suppose to charge comparing to all the toyota dealer located on longisland. (i called every dealer to confirm i got ripped off). Here is how thing goes: i brought in my toyota prius in june 13 (date might not be exact, some day around) for service because of the check engine light. JP is the adviser served me. he told me the diagnostic fee will be $ 227 and could be waived if i let them fixing the car. 2 days later he finally called me at 2PM to let me know that the coolant control valve needs to be replaced. and i can get my car back at 5PM. the total cost would be $ 670. so here is my option either pay $ 227 without my car fixed or $ 670 to get it fixed. when i got my bill back i instantly know i got ripped off. here is the break down of the bill: $ 30 for coolant (suppose to be $ 20), $ 100 for valve ($ 89 supposed to be), 4.7 hour labor rate $ 470 (call me at 2 Pm to come to pick up at 5 pm. 3 hours max,) how is 4.7hours come out. i talked to their manager mark about this, and his response is i authorized to get it fix and i should consider the diagnostic time. i come back with fire and called every toyota dealer on longisland to check the price. one of dealer told me 2.5 hour is the max to replace the valve with proper tool. at last i have to call DMV and 311 to rekport the problem.

My biggest (or rather, only) regret about buying a toyota is having to take it to bay ridge toyota service center. Several times I have come in for routine oil changes and have had them try to tack on a bunch of extra things that need fixing. One time they even rated my break pads (front and back) as needing replacing asap. My front ones were actually wearing out (I could feel it when I stopped), so I took my car back at a later date to get the front ones replaced. They then rated my back break pads as absolutely fine! Recently after having brought my car in to get fixed, I have to bring it back because the coolant is leaking. I will say they did mentioned this, but since they have a habit of bsing, I didn’t bother getting it fixed. The funny part is that they quoted us for $ 150 less than they did initially. I wish I bought a Honda again, because they were never like this at Bay Ridge Honda.

Not happy with service and they can be rude when your trying to spend hard earned money

Poor quality bought 2 Highlander trucks from here they over charged me didn’t give me no perks for buying two cars. I came to the parts and service I always have a problem their it’s either they don’t have my reservation or they won’t take me I came once for an oil change and the guy J. P said I needed to fix my radio for the AUX he told me it was $ 2000 fix but I told him I didn’t come for my radio to be checked and he wanted to charge me $ 250 for checking it. The worst part was that he didn’t change my oil and he messed up my AUX because it was working perfectly fine. So few years later decided to go to another Toyota and they took car of me and they gave me free oil changes and extra perks for buying a car like the people from BayRidge Toyota they just wanted to take my money last time I ever come here.

I brought my 2004 Matrix in for the air bag recall and to fix a broken mirror. The mirror replacement seemed overpriced at $ 280 (the part itself is less than $ 40 on Amazon), but that’s not the real issue. Bay Ridge Toyota and the service rep there, J.P., called me to let me know that my oil pan was leaking and my water pump had a bad gasket. There was one more thing too that they said I definitely needed to do. Total cost was going to be some $ 1,200.
I said thank you and that I would take the car to my regular garage to check on those problems. JP sounded disappointed on the phone.
And here’s the thing: My repair shop said none of those things were needed. No surprise. The car runs fine and never needs oil. These were, by all appearances, made up repairs meant to get more money out of me. What’s more, my regular garage spotted something the car really does need: control arm and tie rod replacement on one of the front wheels.
So, don’t trust the service department at Bay Ridge Toyota. (You probably shouldn’t trust sales either, but that’s just a guess.) And by the way, my regular garage is Superior Care on 3^rd Avenue in Park Slope.
