Bay Ridge Orthodontics

I have been a patient at Bay Ridge Orthodontics for about a year and half and many years before that my daughter was a patient of Dr. Thomas Mortillaro. I finally decided that after 20 years of hiding from the dentist that I wanted to try Invisalign. I have to say that for someone who would cringe whenever I heard the word dentist, I actually look forward to my appointments at Bay Ridge Orthodontics. The office is amazingly clean and always looks beautiful. I have never waited more than 5 mins which is unheard of! Angie who I drive crazy changing my appointments or even showing up late a few times has always been nothing but professional and helpful to me. Angie is always friendly and smiling when I see her and I can spend hours there chatting with her. What I really enjoy is the environment at he office and I am so glad that I chose Bay Ridge Orthodontics if it wasn’t for them I would not be proud to show off my smile. so thank you Dr. Tom and Angie for making me smile :)

I visited Bayridge Orthodontics to get a retainer made. I was told the plastic retainer would take one day while the wired retainer would take a little over a week. I chose to go with the wired ones as they are supposed to be more durable. A little over a week, and I called the office to inquire if the retainer was ready. I was informed by Angie (staff) that the retainer that I ordered would take 3 – 4 weeks, way beyond the one/​one & half week estimate initially given to me by her and the dentist. To my shock, Angie was outright rude, almost yelling on the phone, denying they ever committed to a little more than a week. When I insisted that this was the original commitment and I would never have agreed to 3 – 4 weeks when my teeth were already relapsing, she said the wired retainers took 2 weeks (down from the 3 – 4 weeks she mentioned earlier on the call), and that I was offended by the way she spoke to me, she offered to make a pair of plastic retainers free of charge. I had actually suggested to my husband to go to this dentist for invasilign, but after this experience with Angie, no way! It is saddening to note that it is often the staff that ruins the reputation of the doctors/​dentists.
