Packing materials were ridiculously over priced. I had the worst customer service of all time here. I was the only customer in the store but the person working sighed and rolled her eyes every time I asked her for help. She was rude and even though I was being really nice, she never smiled once or said you’re welcome. It was terrible interacting with her. I never want to go here again.

Dealt with some angry lady. One 3lb package priority mail was quoted at $ 33 or I could go the cheaper route and do Fedex/​UPS for $ 26 and $ 28 I believe. I walked 5 mins to the post office on 542 Atlantic Ave and mailed it for $ 7.
I have no problem paying a premium for convenience, $ 11 – 13 maybe, I’ll deal with it. An almost 400% markup on shipping is borderline criminal.

Of course their shipping and stamps are more expensive. They aren’t UPS or USPS — they are marking up those costs.
I don’t think they’ll win a ton of awards for value or customer service, but the reason you looking at these reviews is maybe because you need to ship something on a Sunday and so few of the UPS places are open then. That’s the only reason I use them.

I walked in here asking a question about a box and shipping price and they look at me like I have 30 heads. Could not have been less helpful and claimed all of their «systems» were down before I had time to finish asking them anything. Their mystery seeped into me and I left. Can’t believe a place like this is still open.

Open on Sunday! An apparent miracle for the neighborhood. Postage rates seem a bit high here, but maybe that’s because the USPS charges outrageous fees, and not Away We Go. Hard to know when you’re shipping a package. Anyway, it saved me today.

I’ve been using Away We Go Postal for almost 4 years now, and have always had a great experience. The staff is friendly and efficient, and (knock wood), my packages have always reached their destinations. A nice addition to the neighborhood.

The attendant confirmed by phone I could print a document but upon arrival the computers weren’t properly connected to printers. The attendant was helpless, seemingly on a personal phone call the entire time, and not willing or able to troubleshoot the issue. She simply said «someone printed this morning.» I also needed to make photo-​copies and their machine (just one?) was out of service.

Stopped in here to day to buy a book of stamps. 20 first class stamps, with a value of 49 cents apiece, would have cost $ 9.80 at the post office, this place charged me $ 15. I didn’t think about it at first and just paid but then, as we were leaving, my wife pointed out what a rip off that was. We thought there must have been a mistake, so we went back, but the woman behind the counter said that $ 15 was the correct price. We asked to return the stamps and she said that she didn’t have the authority to do a return. We planned to go back later, when we were told that a manager would be there, but decided that we didn’t feel like having a confrontation, so we let it go. Never going back.

I stopped in here today to mail something around 2pm. The place was empty except for me and 1 other person. I was in and out in under 5 minutes and the staff was very friendly.
I was surprised to see a huge bowl of condoms and lube sitting on the table next to the envelopes and mailing slips. So if you need somewhere to mail stuff or grab some protection, this is your place.

If I wanted crappy customer service I’d just go to a regular post office. Instead I chose to pay a significant mark up (53%!) on stamps and buy them at Away We Go Postal. I had a crying baby and not much time to shop around, bought a book of stamps got home and realized they’re Harry Potter themed stamps and basically too embarrassing to put on invitations. Returned with the stamps and receipt to the store a few days later and asked to exchange the stamps for something non– Harry Potter and was told a flat out no. You buy it, you leave the store and you don’t get refunds. I tried to explain that I don’t want a refund just to exchange the stamps for an equal value of different stamps. They looked too annoyed to even deal with me. Said maybe if I had just bought them today (instead of 4 days ago!) they’d consider exchanging but no way they’ll do it now. I was more bemused/​confused about what the big deal was to fight at the time and said ok. On my way out I asked why these stamps were so expensive and was met with the reply of we’re a private business we can charge what we want. I guess that’s true and I’m a customer who can shop where she wants and will never shop there again. There’s another postal place a block away for anyone in need of shipping services.

I recently had to ship some very large, heavy and irregularly shaped items interstate. Ron (who usually manages the Washington Ave. location) could not have been more helpful. He figured out how to box up my items so they would fit into the FedEx maximum size guidelines, and put a lot of effort into making sure that my items would be safe and that I would get the best deal on shipping. Everything has now arrived, just a few days later, and all my things made the journey safely. The Away We Go postal business (there are several locations) is an awesome addition to the Brooklyn neighborhood.

One million times better than the post office! I walked in at 10am the week before Christmas and was helped within 2 minutes. The man assisting me was friendly and pleasant and gave me a few options for the two packages I wanted to ship. The price was very reasonable ($ 17 to ship a very large box all the way to NC in just two days) and I did not feel at all ripped off.
They also have some computers in there, a ton of packing supplies and a fairly awesome gumball machine that still says «Blockbuster». I’m a fan and will definitely ship packages from here in the future. They also sell stamps.

I love this place! I’ve had a mailbox here for almost a year and they send an email whenever I have mail or a package. They have long hours and can receive my packages, so I never miss a delivery. They go above and beyond, like if it’s a big package, one of the workers will go and help me load it into the car. Also my friend cut her hand today while in there, and they bandaged her right up. The workers are friendly and efficient.

Opened on Sunday which is a big plus. Very friendly approachable and professional staff willing to show all of the shipping cost alternatives. Definitely recommend.
This place is a godsend in comparison to that overpriced sucko Shipping/​Copy store on South Oxford off of Fulton. The service there stinks and they are about as friendly as a hemorrhoid. They act like you are bothering them when you walk in the door. No thanks you’re not getting another penny from me. Away We Go from now on!

Customer Service is non-​existent at the Flatbush and Washington Ave locations. Price gouging is rampant though. They charged me 78 dollars to ship something fedex ground. when i got home I called fedex with the same weight and dimensions and they quoted me 41 dollars, so this place basically doubled the shipping charge.
Went in needing to box and ship a folding bike. I have shipped this bike coast to coast twice and checked it as baggage on flights twice. I knew what I needed but every simple question I asked or request I made for a smaller box was answered in a long drawn out condescending tone ending with «we do this all the time». They just take over and by the time it was over, I was overcharged and oversold a bill of goods.
When I asked Bill the owner why they don’t give an estimate of charges before the box was taped and packed, they said they don’t give prices because the prices are visible (if you behind you, up and over at the displays not in eye line). That answer also means that you have to watch them every minute they are packing and estimate it yourself (5 bags of styrofoam peanuts? In addition to a waste of my money, how about trying a more sustainable filler for boxes? Those 5 bags will sit in a landfill for the next 100 years Bill. There are plenty of alternatives. Seems you care as much about the environment as you do your customers which is zilch!)
So what should have cost 65 to 70 dollars tops to box and ship cost 129. I left annoyed, irritated, and ripped off. It was a completely miserable experience. I pray my package is delivered and worried because they instill absolutely zero confidence. I completely agree with all the other low rated reviews. Buyer beware!
Do anything you can to avoid «Away We Go Postal.» I wish I would have used the UPS store instead. Bad Service. Wasteful upselling/​price gouging. Condescending, know-​it-​all attitudes. It’s a horrible operation.
Their slogan should be «Away We Go — with your money» making the customer feeling like «Going Postal.»

I have a mailbox there for about 2 years, I love going in there, they are friendly and have never had an issue with delivery or any setbacks. They have inconveniently (to them) opened my mailbox on numerous occasions when I forgot my key at home. They deserve a thank you for bending over backwards for me at times.
There is no other place for me.
