Specialties
Accepting piano students of all ages. Whether you’re interested in reading sheet music and playing minuets, or you want to learn your favorite pop songs by ear, I can take you there.
I’ve been a passionate piano player for 26 years, and a devoted instructor for 12. I’m a professional church organist, and I’ve probably played in one or two of your favorite NYC indie bands. Patience, comfort, good work, and artistic curiosity are all essential ingredients in my lessons.
Most of my students are located in the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Ditmas Park, Park Slope, Windsor Terrace, Flatbush, Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn Heights, Fort Greene, Crown Heights, and Clinton Hill. Students further out in Brooklyn and in Manhattan will also be considered.
Music is an excellent way to multiply intelligence, express the self, and deepen appreciation for the world around us. I keep this idea is at the heart of my teaching.
History
Established in 2002.
I began teaching a few students on guitar and piano in 2002 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, as a part time job while I was in college.
In 2010, I began teaching piano lessons in New York City. Combined with my other jobs playing in musicals, playing in rock bands, and playing for church services, I am now a full time musician.
