Madaba Deli II

The best drunken/​middle of the night sandwich you can find in the area. Cold beer and soda too. Don’t expect much and its not really a place you go when you have other options.

I don’t know here is another place that onyl has one other person to review. Do people in the Bronx just not like to review their local places or they just not get around as much as I do. I used to love Madaba’s when I worked in the area. I would check them for sandwiches they were pretty cheap. The so called sweaty sandwiches I think was for a $ 2 sandwich but c’mon it probably was dirt cheap meat that would sweat on its own. I used to get Boars Head Turkey sandwich here with the works (a few dollars more), unless I was really broke that day and got the $ 2 special Hero. I can’t say I really miss it but it would be nice to go back at least just once when i am next in that area

Ever had the strange sensation that something inside your mouth was sweating? No!?! If you’re interested in that sort of experience, come on down to Madaba’s and buy a perspiring sandwich.
Cheap deli. Open all night. The Middle Eastern dudes who run this place always seem like they’re looking at you suspiciously — but its YOU who should be suspicious. The cold cuts are sweaty, literally, they sweat like a fat guy wearing thermals running up the stairs under a sweltering Saharan summer blaze. Do you want a sweaty fat guy running into your mouth? I sure don’t. But I suffered it through many a broke undergrad year. Its strange what you’ll eat when lady liquor is whispering in your ear.
Walk in with a female and watch as the clerks ogle her with eyes that exude a viscous slimy gaze that rivals the Gak on Nickelodeon. Truly a rude and uncomfortable experience. Patronized by locals Riverdale/​South Yonkers, bar regulars from the neighboring watering holes, drunk college kids, bus drivers (last stop).
Madaba’s is only for you if you’re into sandwiches that just spent an hour in the sauna, getting ready for a hot date in your mouth.
