Don’t you just love it when you stumble upon an unexpected eatery that serves you up a hearty, true home cooked meal. Experiences like that seem to remain in my memory for a while, occasionally calling me by name to return . That happened to me at L&B. By all outward appearances, I was thinking I was entering a pizza based luncheonette and that is only half the story. My nose filled immediately with the intoxicating aroma of Spanish food, needless to say it was a most welcome sense. I ordered a item which I think was a crunchy tripe and a portion of the seasoned pork atop rice. It was delicious and I really enjoyed every last bite. I had to order a slice of the regular pizza which was good, but just not on my radar, as the other options were more abundant. The music was a bit loud and my hearing is not that great(too many concerts) there was no menu, or board a fixed to the wall, add in a little language barrier and unfortunately I do not have the food items names. So, the pictures will hopefully offer a better look inside that little gem on 168th Street. My total bill with a Coke came to $ 7.00!
