If you value your personal safety, and/​or the safety of your loved ones, I would suggest not staying here. The guests are questionable at best, and their motives are unclear. But rest assured, there is nothing that seems even remotely enjoyable about lodging here… even if it’s only for 3 hours or so.

Despite being next to a Police Station, this hotel allows for ²⁴⁄₇ prostitution. The worst hotel, ownership and customer service I have ever encountered. Not only should you avoid staying here at all cost, but this place should be shut down for illegal activities. Ruined our entire Yankee Stadium experience… 100% pure trash!!! DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL

I stayed at Hojo for one night during a visit to NYC. The rent for the night was relatively affordable by New York standards ($ 160/​night, tax included), but still there were several things that made the experience lacking. First off, if you do not drive, you will find yourself without anything to do since there is little to do within easy walking distance of the hotel. Second, the maintenance of the hotel could be better. The rooms themselves seemed, for lack of a better term, run down. The carpets were slightly dusty, the furniture was worn out, etc. My main complaint is with the shower head though, which was covered with this green moldy wet grime (that I’m assuming has been accumulating for a while). It was pretty disgusting. A soft wipe with the towel removed about 60% of it, which seems to show that it is not routinely cleaned.
Despite these shortcomings though, the hotel is in a safe location (it’s right next to a police station) and the staff were friendly when I was checking in and out. Wifi and TV are also available for free during the stay. There’s also «free» breakfast (i.e. included in your rent) in the morning, which consists of muffins, danishes, bread and juice. Nothing fancy, but it helps, considering that there is no other breakfast joint around the area.
