I want to extend a special thank you to my Unilocal Friend, Jason M., who has dined here a few times. I’ve read his reviews, and in doing so, has made me want to give it a try… I really enjoy awesome, well made Italian cuisine. I’m not Italian, and may not know a lot, but, I’ve had my share of inadequate Italian food in the past. I also know this much, that Da Franco & Tony Ristorante, definitely stands out as a really good Italian restaurant in The Bronx. Compared to other establishments on the same street, exterior of Da Franco & Tony, is constructed in brick which added an extra touch of «Umph». What I also particularly favored, was the fact that Da Franco & Tony Is the only restaurant of its kind(that I noticed) that popped in style in that area. Once in, Da Franco & Tony is inviting and so comfortable. Walls on one side are brick, while the opposite side of the restaurant, you have an adorned wall with paintings. My sisters, Mumsy and I were immediately greeted and acknowledged, the second we went in. The attention presented to my family and me, was amazing. Their prix fixe menu, offered several delicious-sounding selections in their appetizers, entrée and dessert for $ 18.95 to choose from. For that dollar amount, one would think, that selections might be mediocre in taste, but Da Franco & Tony came on top. Although portions are considerably reduced in quantity,(in their prix fixe menu) flavors were definitely incredible. As part of the dessert portion in their prix fixe menu, a choice of Tiramisu or Italian Cheesecake were offered. I went with neither. I bypassed the offered desserts on the menu, just because Tiramisu has coffee in it and the Italian Cheesecake, well… I wasn’t in the mood for. However, our server brought out the«Viennese Table» with other desserts to choose from. One of my sisters though, had the Tiramisu, while the other, had the Italian Cheesecake– and both were salivating. I, on other hand, dove right in for The Chocolate Lava Cake. My belief boils down to this… It really doesn’t matter how tasty and wonderful the menu is(well… yes it does), because I will not return to a restaurant if my experience was bad. But hands down to the service at Da Franco & Tony: the spacing between our meals was excellent and our dishes were promptly brought out. In the end, the two servers were most definitely diligent and so friendly from the minute we sat down, til the end of our last bite of dessert. In addition, my family’s lunch experience was wonderful and so satisfying, and will eventually make reservations for dinner.

My first time to the restraunt Many people have spoken about it so I tried. Very nice place. Got a seat by the window. Kinda reminds me of the original Morris Park Inn… Busy, lots of chatter. Service was good-workers checking on you often. I had the restraunt week special. The food was very good. With cocktails about $ 50 with tip. I enjoyed it and looking forward to going back.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is a breath of fresh air. There are quite a few Italian restaurants in the area, but many of them are not updated. It was nice to be seated in a clean and well decorated restaurant. The staff is very attentive and I didn’t have to ask for drink or bread refills. The food was good. The portions for the lunch weren’t large, but the price for the lunch is fair. Altogether, my wife and I had a very nice time and I have to hand it to the service. They were great!

Just went there for a third time. The food gets better each time. The lobster ravioli is amazing. My two year old son ate the meatball appetizer and he doesn’t eat anything! The flan is absolutely delicious. I literally have no complaint about this place. I’ll be a regular here. Hope this place stays in this neighborhood for a long time.

It’s like having dinner at home. Everything is wonderful. The setting, the décor, the warm welcome followed by absolutely delicious food and caring service make it a must go to restaurant. Why cook– you can never achieve this in your kitchen.

What a lovely little neighborhood restaurant! It was packed when we got there for our 8:45 reservation but service was still quick and friendly. We got the burrata w portabello mushrooms appetizer. For entrees we got the homemade fettuccine w asparagus and scallops, the pesto gnocchi, and the linguine del mar in a white sauce but my spouse asked if he could substitute the homemade fettuccine for the linguine. The waiter was not fazed. Everything came in a timely manner. The prices were good. Service was great. We’ll be back!

Went back to DaFranco and Tony’s for a third time. Brought some friends with us. They absolutely loved our waiter Mario, Frank the owner and the rest of the staff. We sat by the fireplace and enjoyed our delicioso dinner. Everyone agreed that it is great to have a 5 star restaurant right in our own backyard in Country Club, the Bronx. Frank, thanks for allowing us to have a great time as we were a bit loud but no one seemed to mind. We will be back. Gina and company.

We happened to stumble upon this italian restaurant and it was a AMAZING! We were greeted promptly and they modified one of their tables to fit our party. All of the waiters were extremely polite and helped us choose our plates and drinks. The atmosphere was relaxing and we just had an amazing time. Oh and the food! TODIEFOR! You can tell they take pride in their restaurant. I HIGHLY suggest this place

Dined again at Da Franco & Tony’s tonight and felt the need to upgrade my review to a 5 — the food and service totally warrant it. We started tonight with the fried calamari app — they also had a stuffed artichoke on special so my dad ordered that. The calamari was good — not overly crispy, served with their marinara sauce on the side. Squeezing some fresh lemon on the calamari and dipping it in the marinara added a nice bite to it. For my main I had the chicken special — topped with mozzarella and spinach served with roasted potatoes. It was simple but very tasty and fresh. I decided to go with fruit topped with whipped cream and a cappuccino for dessert — perfect finisher. While the food was very good, the service is what really wowed me. Everyone was friendly, the pace of the entire meal was perfect, and they even offered us complementary after-dinner drinks. Looking forward to many more dinners at Da Franco & Tony’s =)

Great restaurant! I have dined here several times since it’s grand opening. The food and service are always excellent. I have enjoyed every meal. Some of my favorite are Pollo Scarpariello, Tagliatelle Ragu Al Vino Rosso and Linguini Ai Frutti Di Mare. They have a excellent selection of wines and deserts. The staff is friendly, polite, knowledgeable and attentive. The restaurant is clean, cozy and inviting. I would highly recommend.

This was one of the best Italian Restaurants I ever had dinner at. The food was so tasty. Had the clam appetizer which I had to order extra bread to soak up all the juice. A stuffed portabella mushroom with crab me was just as amazing. The grilled Lamb chops were the best ive ever had & fresh pasta with seafood with a sauce that was just right with a lil spice. The staff are amazing the really make sure you meal is what you like & through it all the owner is there over seeing everything too. If you want to have a great meal & wanna feel right at home then this is the place to go. I rarely go out for Italian but with this place I cant wait to go back. You have to try it

Very nice neighborhood restaurant in the north Bronx that I probably would never have heard of if it wasn’t for Groupon. My girlfriend told me about the wonderful meal she had and suggested that I get the voucher also, to try them out. Hubby, my son and I made last minute reservations which were accommodated with no problem. We went on a Sunday and had no issues with parking. The dining room was quiet and we were seated immediately upon entering. We were promptly served water and given our menus and while we perused the offerings, we were also served our warm bread, butter and a small antipasti plate that included some cured meat, olives and parmesan cheese. I purchased a four person voucher when I was first told about the Da Franco deal but the night we decided to dine, we were a party of three and the one stipulation was that we had to order four entrées which was no problem. We like to eat! They offered some specials that we decided to order, along with a few of the regular menu options. My son and I shared their Smoked Salmon appetizer which was served over a bed of arugula. It was very fresh and tasty. We all shared the Fettuccine special which was prepared with tuna, tomatoes and capers. It was a nice, light pasta dish that we all enjoyed. Hubby ordered the Pollo Ai Fungi. He loved the flavor. I tasted it as well, because well, I AM the reviewer in the family and how else could I give specific detail about the food(my argument every time I want a bite)?? My son and I both ordered the Pan-Roasted Salmon which also tasted great and was served with a creamy caper sauce, roasted taters and steamed broccoli. They certainly love their capers but so do I, so the redundancy was welcomed. We all shared some Tiramisu, which I haven’t had in such a long time and I topped that off with an espresso and sambuca. All in all, the food was good, the staff was attentive and the experience was pleasant. This is a serious contender for a return visit, being mere minutes from Westchester.

We went back again about 6 weeks after the first time we went. Although I ate the same thing, it was better. Why? The mussels weren’t gritty this time. The mussel broth was so good I was eating it like soup. Based on how good it was the last time we were here, 3 of us got the Chicken Martini. It was just as good if not better. Throw away your knife, you don’t need it for this dish. Afterwards, we all said that that chicken dish may have been the best chicken breast dish we have EVER eaten. It was perfect. Service was attentive, fresh hot rolls, a prixe fix lunch… What are you waiting for? GO!

Really missed my new Italian restaurant right here in the Bronx with unusual cuisine you won’t find in the other numerous Italian places in our town! We started with a super creamy burrata cheese appetizer over fresh juicy tomatoes, peppers with a splash of aged balsamic and fresh basil atop to compliment! Next was my favorite, lentil soup that I’ve had a yen for, for two months! The specials of chicken stuffed with mozzarella, prosciutto and asparagus in a creamy wine sauce was superb! My strip steak was cooked perfectly atop broccoli rabe and baby potatoes! We ended this incredible meal with a freshly made cannoli with fresh made whip cream and strawberries and Italian cheesecake! If this was not enough, they brought us a special treat of home made mini biscotti with powdered sugar sprinkled. Of course Tasty lady had her Prosecco to make this not a meal but a complete, incredible dining experience!

My family and I ate here on a Sunday night and we had the very best service. The place is very clean and the staff is very friendly. Sometimes, when visiting other restaurants, I get unfriendly servers who make me feel as though I’m inconveniencing them or address me with unwelcoming faces. This isn’t the case here, as everyone, from the servers to the busboys are friendly.(I’ve dined here twice and both times I got superb service) The place is a bit fancy, but casual attire is welcomed. I dined at this restaurant with my wife who had salmon and she said it was pretty epic. I had the Chicken Parmesan(which isn’t on the menu, but they obliged when I asked them for it.) My kids had the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo(which also isn’t on the menu) and it was really good. The chicken for both meals wasn’t dry and was perfectly moist! My ONLY complaint here that the food is a bit expensive. I’m not saying that the food isn’t worth the price, I’m just saying that I’ve dined at neighboring restaurants like Tosca and Patricia’s whose quality is on par with this restaurant and I’ve paid considerably less at those locations. Nevertheless, give this place a try and you too will be impressed by the food and service.

Had the mussels with red sauce and calamari for appetizer, and the Garganelli Alla Norma which is Hand Rolled Pasta with Eggplant, Tomato, Basil Pesto & Fior Di Latte Mozzarella. Excellent food and excellent service. Will definitely be coming back!

All I can is wow! Uri and I came here Sunday for the first time. We both love franks and when we receive the menu in an order we had to try. First of all the place is beautiful! The food was delicious! We both had the set menu. I had tomatoe with mozzarella, the mozzarella literally melted in your mouth. Then I had penne vodka, the sauce was delicious. Uri had a seafood salad special, and he enjoyed every bite. Then he had a ceased with shrimp scampi. Then we had the tiramisu which hit the spot at the end. After we left we wanted to go back for dinner. We both talked and know this will be one of our spots to eat from. Good job and good luck with your business!

I am so excited that this restaurant exists in my neighborhood. My family and I have come here numerous times since the opening last year to celebrate birthdays and just because we like it so much. We’ve never been disappointed by any of the numerous apps and entrees we’ve eaten –we’ve tried almost everything on the menu. Add to this an extremely friendly and lovely waitstaff who make you feel as though they want you to have a great experience dining there. Five plus stars!
