I fully stand behind my review and the photos show how you took care of my property. Also, the «helper» you had assisting the driver found their job that day off Craigslist! You attempted to falsify weight slips that did not exist per the driver!

Don’t trust anything this mover claims it’ll do for you!
I had clearly explained my moving needs over the phone over a week before my move. The representative repeated my requests of two local pick-​up locations and the final upstate destination. I got a decent price, and the phone rep sounded professional. I got a written confirmation via email. And I gave them a $ 100 deposit.
On moving day, the drivers had no clue they were going to a second pick-​up point. They were huffing that they’d have to go out of their way. After they called their office, a clueless moving rep called me and acted like he couldn’t make a decision if his life depended on it. He told me he would call me back in a few minutes. He then called back to tell me they couldn’t do the job. He promised to give me my deposit back, not that I’ve seen it yet.
All my plans for that important day were in the toilet. I had to stay in a hotel for three nights before I could get someone to move me. A normally stressful move was multiplied a thousand percent and cost me money I really couldn’t afford to spend.
Don’t let their credentials and professional phone sales pitch fool you — on the day that counts, your reluctant friends will do a better job than these guys.

Let me preface my review with this: they did not break contract and all of our furniture was delivered cross-​country four weeks after pick up in good condition. A tv stand did have a leg break off, but that’s neither here nor there.
Here’s the problem I had with Better Rate. After my driver going radio silence for two days, I called in to Better Rate to see what was going on. I was informed that the driver had a random DOT inspection and had to fly back to NYC, leaving our property (along with others), unattended (later to find out it was in a secured lot). The driver was flying out the next day to resume his journey. Naturally, I panicked, because no one contacted me about this. When I expressed my concern of the situation and my visions of my belongings on the side of the road, I was told, «so what if it is?» by customer service, followed by some words to attempt to calm my nerves.
I asked to speak with the manager, who I also expressed my worry to. At this point I was getting extremely frustrated and agitated with the lack of transparency and answers and was mockingly called «sweetheart» and when I corrected him, he said okay «MAM, Ms. SCHWEET.» All in a very rude, uncalled for tone. He later apologized after my boyfriend made a point for him to do so.
Additionally, I was told a different driver was flying out after the DOT inspection, but it was in fact the same driver. Confirmed by the driver.
Anywho, my advice to you. Read the contracts front and back. Read them again. Don’t expect a top-​notch customer service experience, especially after your pickup has happened. Also, no discounts (after the initial discount-​maybe why they give one up front?) are given for all of your frustrations. I asked.

I have used Better Rate Movers for a Texas to NYC move and a Brooklyn to NYC move.
They did an amazing job from start to finish. I comparatively shopped and found their rates to be the best out of 3 companies I contacted. Excellent customer service, TJ, Mike and Lee all took really good care of me with the initial assessment for pricing and multiple calls with questions and concerns I had since my move was complicated.
I ended up needing to use their services for longer term storage because my plans changed with a job and they took excellent care of me and my belongings at a great price.
I would recommend them highly in all categories, pricing, customer care, flexible dates and working with my changing schedule, great energetic guys, competent professional team. I genuinely can state that they make moving pleasureable and I never knew that moving could go as smoothly and painstakingly as it did working with this company.

We recently hired Better Rate Movers for a move from NYC to Philadelphia. We had a really positive experience and have already recommended Better Rate to friends. They were very competitively priced and sent a representative to our apartment to do an assessment provide a quote. The representative, Paulo, was also the foreman for our actual move. He was fantastic on both occasions. During the home inspection he answered all of my questions and explained the way the move would work. During the actual move, he and the rest of the crew did a great job packing up our bookshelves, bed, couch etc. Everything was done really quickly and well. We definitely recommend Better Rate!

This company from day 1 has been so dishonest. First they changed the price of course. I spoke to the owner who said to me verbatim «who did you think you hired some cheap dirty mexicans».so they held my things hostage after changing the price once the truck was loaded. ok so that’s the part that’s not so bad… I payed to have my things moved into my place and the only guy who showed up was the guy driving the truck .so no one was there to move me in. They stole a 900 dollar clothing rack and other small items .They completely broke the Frame and tore the leather on a 3000.00 dollar couch that was less than a year old and it is completely un usable .I made a claim and was offered 96 dollars. Yea 96 dollars for a 3 thousand dollar couch ok… These are facts .Don’t hire these people .They have changed the name of this company I recently found out because of so many
yourself a favor and hire anyone but these guys. Oh yea and one of the movers that initially picked up my stuff told me they hire all day
you never know who will be in your house.

We just used Better Rate Movers for our move. We were truly satisfied from the great customer service from TJ and the movers themselves just being polite and professional. We did an over 900 mile move and would definitely suggest them to all those in our circle from NY to Cali.

Worst moving company ever. Delivered move late, unprofessional staff, teenage kid sat on my couch and ate a banana during the slow, sloppy and painful unloading process. They dropped an antique dresser and broke it. They smudged newly painted walls and delivered a carpet that was not ours. HORRIBLE MOVERS. DO NOT USE THEM!

The first company we hired could not locate our stuff forever, and then eventually contracted outwith Better Rate Movers to complete our move. The nightmare continued. They did not show up twice in a row on the dates we had scheduled with them for move-​in, after reserving our building’s loading dock THREE times (they told us ahead of time for one of the three reservations, so we only showed up expecting move-​in two times, with TWO NO-​SHOWS). When my husband called them after their second no-​show, the company actually made fun of his stuttering — like, actually mocked him like an evil middle schooler — rather than offer assistance or apologize on behalf of the company.
They held our belongings hostage and up-​charged us before they would complete delivery; they wouldn’t even let me verify that it was actually our stuff being delivered on the day of, before payment. They had NO documentation, no box count, and some of the stuff they delivered was clearly not ours (some even marked with someone else’s name); we had to make them take it back down and reload it into the truck.
Our boxes and plastic wrappings were crushed and torn, and as we feared, our fragile family heirlooms were destroyed by a combination of mishandling and horrible packing by the first movers.
If your name is ROB and you are missing some items from these movers, we should make contact and join in a lawsuit together.

These guys are simply the best! Helped us with a recent move that involved 2 shipments going to 2 different locations (local & out of state). The move also involved removing oversized items that only the most creative of movers could have handled. All went off without a hitch. From the first point of contact throughout the entire process they were professional, responsive, on time, so so helpful & extremely reasonable pricewise. They provided boxes and other packing materials, helped us plan the difficult details and made certain all was coordinated on all ends. We have moved many times and this is the first company worthy of a recommendation. We will not move without them again!

Better Rate Movers now wants me to take down my review, claiming they did «exactly what they were contracted to do». Funny, I don’t think we «contracted» any moving company to lie about our belongings location, lose, and damage our belongings. We have reached out to both companies and both are yet to return our calls and emails. It takes them 6 months to respond to my review, trying to be deceitful yet again. My recommendation: stay far far away from these liars.

This review of the better rate movers from the Bronx. What a horrible, experience. 1 when they finally delivered the furniture, they refused to even open there truck untill they were payed, cash, in full. 2 in the contract, they were suppose to put the furniture back together, but they said they were tired and it was late so they did not do it. They did say they were going to send some one to assemble everything tomorrow, which they did. But the guy only installed a bed and a table, not lots of other thins. We called and they sent him back. Now we got a call that we owe for the installation. 3 this company took 12 days to deliver the furniture, something no one mentioned when we hired them. When we called to complain they said the law gives them 21 days to deliver. No one said that when we hired them. Horrible experience !

We recently used Better Rate Movers for a cross country move. While I can see how there would be some variability in people’s moving experiences because they have to contract out to local movers in the various locations that people live in/​move to, we had a really positive experience.
Overall, the most positive part of our move was our interactions with Jason. He was extremely friendly, informative, and readily available throughout the entire process. He was great with responding to any concerns/​questions we had and was consistently helpful in every single interaction we had with him. Another amazing thing was that he also gave us a great deal given that we were students. In fact, because he gave us such a great deal, we ended up referring them to a ton of our friends that were also moving after school ended, and they had positive experiences as well.
Another positive was that they honored our specific pick up day (allowing us to not be completely furniture-​less forever using a pick up window or something) and they also delivered in a really short time frame (all the way across the country!). Additionally, they allowed us to change the amount of stuff that we were initial quoted from when we booked to at the time of pick up for the exact same rate (ex — we ended up added more boxes and a mattress last minute and they gave us the same price per square foot at pick up). Oh and also, it was great that we only had to put $ 100 to guarantee a reservation with them because our move was sort of up in the air for a while (we weren’t positive we had to move) and it allowed us a lot of flexibility in terms of having to cancel last minute.
Ultimately, we’d recommend again! I mean we did 7 times already. :)

On February 6, 2015 I contracted with Better Rate Movers and spoke with Lisa G. to move my possessions from Alpharetta, GA to Smyrna, TN on February 21, 2015 for a same day move. I was working with sales person Lisa who agreed same day delivery could be done. Driver /​Mover Alex was assigned to be my mover. The morning of Saturday, February 21, 2015 due to the weather being bad and the interstate closed leading into Tennessee from Georgia, Alex moved the pick up date back to Wednesday, February 25, 2015 with delivery on Friday, February 27, 2015. During the pickup, Alex was rude and unprofessional and primarily focused on the money he was owed verses customer service and my possessions. He demanded I pay an additional $ 150 for stairs which was already included in the quote so I was over charged that amount. His crew also used my bathroom without asking and did not clean up after themselves from packing and left several dirt spots on my carpet. On Thursday, February 26, 2015, Alex called at 7:55pm and stated he would not deliver my things to Smyrna, TN until Saturday rather than Friday due to weather. When questioned where the weather was bad, Alex stated in Charlotte, NC. When further questioned by my fiancé as to the weather being bad because the news channels did not support that, Alex then stated he fell behind and that was the reason he would not be able to deliver my possessions until Saturday. I reminded Alex I’d requested and paid for same day services and that I had been more that patient and needed my things delivered Alex stated he would not deliver them until Saturday and that I needed to have $ 765 when he got to Tennessee. During the conversation Alex stated nothing on his paperwork stated it was same day and my fiancé could come get them Friday if he wanted in Georgia. Hence acknowledging he would be in Georgia Friday so therefore he could drive to Tennessee but simply wasn’t. During the conversation Alex also called me a liar. My fiancé requested Alex’s DOT number so he could report him to the DOT however Alex stated he did not know it and I could call the company the next day. I was informed that Alex deliver my things on Saturday morning, February 28, 2015. I informed customer service and Lisa from Better Rate movers I did not feel safe with Alex so he needed to be there in the morning. Alex did not call to tell me when he was going to deliver my possessions so Saturday morning I phone Alex and he was still in Georgia and stated he would not be delivering my things until night. Alex and one other person arrived at my home DRUNK and continued to be rude and demanded the rest of the payment for the bill before he would bring my possessions in. Alex smelled of alcohol and his partner spoke no English. During the move, Alex refused to put my mirror on my dresser as he was supposed to, broke my floor lamp, broke the knob on my dryer, left the trash from the move at the bottom of the stairs, along with his beer can, and as mentioned above, over charged me. I filed the claim with Better Rate Movers, provided documentation and pictures of the over charged amount of $ 150, showed the pictures of work not performed and trash left, items broken and the settlement amount offered from Better Rate Movers 3 months later was $ 62.00. When attempting to resolve the issue and work with Lisa G who initially set up the deal she was evasive and lied and wouldn’t return my call.
