Talk about a discovery! Only found out about this store at the start of the month through a trip to downtown Brockport and just by the name of the store, I knew this would be the right store. It’s a very small store, but strangely enough, it’s quite spacious for it being filled with media materials. When you walk in, there is a bin full of bargain DVD’s/CD’s that are marked down from their original prices. To the left you’ll find the DVD’s new and used. The new DVD’s will be placed in one of those plastic browser packs while the used ones will just be on their own, the owner keeps the used DVD’s behind the counter. The majority of the store is dominated by CD’s, Vinyl and Cassettes. On the front counter sits a large load of used CD’s ranging from $ 0.99 to $ 9.99 or even higher depending on the CD. These are guaranteed and if they don’t work, you are able to bring them back. However, the only problem with having them on the counter is that the face up side labels get sun-faded. If you don’t have a problem with that, then just ignore what I said! If you do though, it’s not a big worry, the actual booklet and other sides of the insert are fine. Also on the counter are a bin of CD’s that are really cheap, mostly $ 0.99 to $ 3.99 and mostly consist of jazz and compilation cd’s in addition to cd’s that eventually weren’t selling and were marked down from their original asking price. In the back are the cd’s in the browser packs that run a bit more money out of your pocket but there are still cheap ones thrown in the mix. These CD’s are usually in great condition and are free of scratches. Vinyl records can also be found here but unless you are a die-hard record collector, it doesn’t come cheap. Some of the prices are good but some run expensive, especially newer releases. The Cassettes are hidden to the right of the glass case. These are the cheapest but most are lackluster unless you like holiday music. It’s a hit or miss here but you have to go on the right day to score. Their are also posters you can buy that are in the back center as well as other pieces of entertainment merchandise. The prices here aren’t thrift store prices but they are below retail. I highly encourage anyone who hasn’t visited this store to give it a go, the owner is very nice and easy to get along with it and is willing to make deals if you are short on money. The business has been around for almost twenty years and I hope it stays for twenty more!
