Specialties
Breakfast and Lunch 7 days and Dinner Thurs — Sat. An eclectic menu designed to support local farms. All eggs, chicken, beef and dairy are locally sourced. In season, vegetables are also sourced from customers on a barter system. Organic coffee and tea. Beer and Wine.
History
Established in 2007.
The Beehive began as a coffee shop with home made pastries and has gradually grown into a busy restaurant with something for everyone. The menu evolved as a partnership between Chef Eli Dunn and owner, Jen Cavallaro. His love of fresh and local food, combined with her love of baking, has produced a simple menu which offers more than meets the eye.
The location near the water is beloved; competition is fierce for outside seating at dinner in the summer. The addition of beer and wine rounded out the evolution from coffee shop to neighborhood bistro in 2010.
Meet the Business Owner
Jennifer C.
Business Owner
Jen started The Beehive Café as a coffee and pastry shop in 2007. Due to popular demand the food service side of the business grew and grew, a wine and beer license was obtained and now it is a bustling restaurant. Jen has been helped by a formidable cast of characters in the kitchen, including Eli Dunn (now of Eli’s Kitchen in Warren), James Day originally from Providence (Julian’s) and Alex Wasilewski who is a local and talented young cook. The menu is a reflection of their combined input over the last few years. It is also the reflection of Jen’s commitment to affordable, recognizable food which is locally sourced and honestly presented.
