They gave us a competitive bid on replacing our deck railing and did a great job. They removed the old rotted wood and replaced with new on the same day. It was unpainted and it took me a few weeks to get that done on my own.
Some weeks later they came to repair some fenceposts and again did a great job. They came when they said they would come, did the work as promised, cleaned up after word. Workmanship is top notch.
I would not hesitate to call them again at any time.

When we bought our house, we inherited an old and decaying fence. When it looked like the couldn’t stand up to the wind and rain any longer, we called in FencePro.
Our neighbor had used them a few months earlier, and her fence looked GREAT! So, we called the same crew, and ordered one just like it. Their bid was competitive, and they started the project quickly.
The staff of FencePro are very patient and professional. They genuinely seem like good people that want to do high-​quality work and make you happy. They made sure that my wife and I were fully satisfied with the project. They did everything in their power to answer our questions and make sure they were doing exactly what we wanted. My wife is very particular (read: high-​maintenance) so I’m happy we got the level of service that we did.
There were a few times where my wife and I had a bit of a freak-​out and the Fencepro team were great about jumping on our concerns and doing everything they could to fix the issue. As it turned out, our fears were false alarms and nothing needed to happen. But still, Fencepro answered our calls after hours, showed up early, and were there to help and make sure we had a good experience.
They’re a local business, with good people, that have a lot of experience, and genuinely seem to care. You should give them a call, I know that I would definitely use them again.

They came out for an estimate I asked for 3 separate estimates for 3 different projects. I was very clear they were 3 different estimates. I selected Fencepro for one of the jobs, signed their contract (with no mention that the price was contingent on anything, it was an a stand alone estimate/​contract), and sent them my check. There were several phone calls and emails clarifying what I needed. I then emailed them the day before the project was to start to ask when they would arrive.; I was told the estimate was only good if I took all the projects.
I asked for my check back.
The most unprofessional company I have dealt with in a long time, it felt like a bait and switch.
Update; I had the fence installed by another fence company for almost the same price (a few dollars less). Too bad this company appears so poorly managed they can’t make money on competitive quotes.

Like the other Unilocalers here, I also had issues with fence pro not starting on the actual contracted start date. In addition, we ended up paying several thousands dollars over the estimate because of unforeseen things. Needless to say, we somewhat expected that that might occur, that we’d end up paying more than the estimate.
Pros: they did a fantastic job
Cons: 1. we were billed for hours when he states on the invoice that there were 2 or 3 employees when in fact there were less because i was home all day (they didn’t know I was in the house and would occasionally look outside to check on what was going on)
2. When you have an estimate of about $ 10,000 and end up paying $ 15,000 it’s kinda hard to stomach
3. They finished a week later than expected (but that wasn’t too bad)
Overall, I still gave them 4 stars because they did a really good clean up and put in solid retaining walls and a nice fence.
I never met the owner but Dale was really nice.

I highly recommend fence pro. My 20-​year old wooden curbside mailbox post was rotting away at the base and about to fall over, along with a fence side door. The curbside mailbox post is an unusual project, but FencePro can do it. Dale came out pretty promptly to do the estimate, and the crew was out the next week to do both projects. He was forthright and fair in pricing, even recommending that I get the new mailboxes on my own so that he won’t have to charge me for them. They were very careful digging the new concrete foundation of the posts — they work with PG&E to mark utilities before digging. FencePro poured a concrete foundation and installed anchoring rods, to ensure that the new mailbox post will withstand the weather. The foreman involved me with every appropriate detail, asked good questions, and the craftsmanship was terrific — he was able to replicate the exact look of the current mailbox post on my street. The fence door project was a piece of cake for these guys — the foremen gave me a choice of hinges and made good recommendations given the strong prevailing winds in my area. The only reason this is not a 5-​star review is that they are so busy that Dale ran late on his estimates appointment and the crew started a half day late on my project — but they all showed up, were courteous and professional, and did the job well.

FencePro built me a 70-​foot good neighbor fence and a 16-​foot fancy custom fence. They did a great job and the result is beautiful. Every touch point with the company was professional and customer service oriented. They answered phone calls and emails, worked with me on the design, provided a detailed bid, showed up when they said they would, and cleaned up after themselves. Tim, the owner, spoke with me several times about the design and materials, came over during the build to check up on the progress, and came back when it was done to make sure I was happy. The construction team was highly skilled and polite. They clearly think about what they are doing.

my neighbor and I both contributed and had a new fence built. Contractor showed up on time for original estimate. I did a little research and determined minor problem with State Board of Contractor. I called Fence Pro and determined that they were aware of the issue and had corrected it, they quickly provided me evidence that the issue had been corrected. Over the few weeks prior to the job, we had a few telephone conversations, they are quick to answer and are friendly. Work was done on time, fence looks great and feels solid. I am going to have them come back and do some more work for me. Price was fine, about he middle estimate. They have done a few other fences in our neighborhood and everyone seems happy with the work. Credit cards can be used at a slight additional fee

Everything went perfectly smooth. Dale came, gave a quote. I sat on the quote for about 6 months, then contacted them and was told they would still honor it. Anyway, showed up on time, started the work, and completed the work by 4 pm. Fence is exactly what I asked for.

The fence was rotten to the core and was replaced by FENCEPRO. We were very pleased with the bid, the response to get the job done and completed right on schedule. The crew was on time, left no mess, were polite, considerate of our dog, and the fence materials were perfect, no knot holes, cracks, straight and looks great. Thanks FENCEPRO.

I live in San Francisco and have a shared fence with a neighbor. It was end of life. I struggled off and on for 4 months to find someone to replace it. I engaged at least 10 contractors. Received responses from half and ultimately got 4 quotes. All about the same price. I was flabbergasted at the quotes. All l wanted was 70′ linear feet, 6′ high, redwood with press treated post. Nothing fancy. It wasn’t finish carpentry.
The received a referral to Fence Pro and thought I’d try again. Dale arrived the day after I called. On time. Prepared. Discussed my options. Educated me. I had a very professional quote 6 hours later. I worked with Sylvia over the next 24 hours to clarify the quote and schedule. I signed the contract and mail the deposit. The job was done the following week. Less than one week between the initial call and construction.
The team arrived on time. Worked a full day. Completed the project. They were organized. Cleaned up. Polite. The results were far better than expected. I have construction experience and can be a bit of a stickler. The material were A+ and the workmanship A+.
I am beyond pleased and would happily recommend them to anyone that asked. I would also offer my name and number to provide a reference. Any time.

The guys who installed the fence were great. They worked hard and did a good job. Our lot is 110 feet deep, and 90 feet of that fence is absolutely fantastic. It’s straight as an arrow and the postholes were dug really deep. The fence is solid as a rock. The job foreman built a great gate for us as well. They got it all done in one day, as promised. So… for the guys who actually built our fence… five stars. Absolutely!
Now, for the organizing end of things,…one star. The measurer/​estimator came out and wrote up an estimate. Included in the measuring process was the fact that 20 feet of fencing was going to need to be done with longer-​than-​standard boards. After two revisions of the contract (which took multiple telephone calls on my part, to get a response from Fencepro’s owner) the contract still came back with incorrect lengths of boards for that 20 feet. I called the office, the woman on the phone said… not a big deal, take it up with the foreman… which I tried to do. He was a very good guy, and I have no doubts about his work ethic or honesty but subtleties in communication were difficult. Upshot… we have a fence with the wrong size boards on it, for 20 feet. The owner of Fencepro refuses to make it right without charging for it.
Upshot is… DO NOT TRUST the «word» of Fencepro. GET EVERY DETAIL IN THE CONTRACT. —EVERY detail. — The owner was late to an appointment to negotiate the re-​do of the incorrect 20 boards and tried to turn it into my fault, because he didn’t have my cell phone number. Yet his office has communicated with me by cell phone! HIS secretary made the appointment! The owner may or may not return phone calls. They seem unable to keep track of phone numbers. The office may or may not return phone calls.
I have to be fair… I trusted the woman on the phone at FencePro, that we could make it right between myself and the foreman, so the contract specifies the wrong size of board. I signed the contract. I signed it believing that we could «make it right» the day the fence was installed. I should have sent the contract back AGAIN to get the right size boards put on the contract, and when the workmen showed up with the wrong boards, should have refused the delivery. Instead, I trusted the woman on the phone that «we’ll make it right».
They won’t.
Since the cost of buying the boards to do it right, myself, is about $ 150 I’m just going to have to bust out the boards they put and do it myself, and pay the company. No, I’m not happy about it, though sawing and nailing up 20 boards is no big deal. I feel that the job should be done *Right*. It’s not.
Once again, 90% of this fence is gorgeousl The work crew did a great job. The problem is not with the guys building the fence.
My experience is much the same as one or two others here at Unilocal. The guys putting the fence in are great… they’re hard workers, they do a great job. The Office and the owner… not so much.

They didn’t show up to my appointment. They called to confirm the day before but no one showed up. A phone call would have been nice so I could have done something else with my day.

Building a fence in SF right now without a permit. Way over 6′. They should know better.

I love the fence, but the service was terrible. On the day they were supposed to install our fence, they called to reschedule saying we weren’t on the calendar after I had confirmed. So we had to wait another week to get the fence put in. The staff worked slowly, took a long lunch and started wrapping up at 4:00 when there was plenty that could have been done.
Because I was satisfied with the result of the fence, I called to get an estimate for a fence in our front yard. I should have known better because they didn’t show-​up, and said we weren’t on their schedule when I called to see if they were coming.
Bottom line — good work, bad service/​scheduling.

Great experience! Surpassed all my expectations from start to finish!
The folks at FencePro fundamentally changed the look and feel of my backyard into something that I can now enjoy for years to come… and that has increased the value of my property! We built four new retaining walls and a couple of new stairs.
I live in San Francisco, and have a challenging situation in the backyard… as we are on a steep hill — and — access to the backyard is only possible by coming through my home! Lots of stairs, bamboo floors, and other things to be careful about when you’re bringing in materials.
Daniel was extremely helpful with the estimating process… always on time, always called to give me a status update… and the estimate was right on in terms of final pricing. He was great at figuring out what would have to be done to ensure that everything went smoothly day of the work.
The guys, Edgar and Raphael and their team were incredibly dedicated and careful… they prepared everything so that the carry through of materials did not damage anything… and the quality of the work as I said before surpassed my expectations! They cleaned up everything… even taking a few extra things out (old boards and branches) as they packed up.
I’m thoroughly enjoying the new gardening spaces created by the retaining walls… and I feel much more confident about how the hillside is protected from erosion now that these sturdy, well-​built retaining walls are competed!

My recent experience with this company was excellent from start to finish. They came as scheduled to review the site and their estimate was complete when they said it would be. Based on other bids, I got back to them with questions and they responded promptly. In fact, I received a call from the owner to answer a couple of my questions. When clarification was required on the lattice that should be used, the office emailed me pictures of the alternatives so I could make an informed decision.
On the day of the scheduled install, Raphael and his crew arrived on time. They consulted me whenever there was a question as to how something should be done. They installed 35 ft of fence and a gate. The fence looks great and the gate was very well done. The crew was always professional and left the site at least as clean as they found it. I couldn’t be more pleased with their work. Great job!

this company did 2 retaining walls and deck. Great work. I noticed a few items I wanted corrected. ‘we will call you back…’ 2 weeks waiting so far: NO followup

I called these guys to come out and give us a bid for a barbed wire fence in the parking lot at the non-​profit I work at.
They assured me theyd be there at noon– at 1:30 they rolled up– understandable right? sure– but they kept stringing me along on the phone so that i stood outside for a frickin hour! lateness is one thing, bullshit is another.
They said the bid would be out within a day or so. i call them 3 days later to ask where it is. They string me along again. 3 or four days later i finally get it. I also get a sad story of multiple deaths in the family– I am human and that sounds awful– why not just let me know a realistic day to expect things.
Finally the bid comes– 13,000 for a job i have subsequently gotten done for 3200 (3200 from a licensed fence company). I guess they were hoping Id be some old lady who doesnt know how bad shes getting ripped off and has money to burn or a credit card to weigh down.
They are polite enuf on the phone but apparently it is all b.s.
