Dr. Katzman has devoted his life to helping people achieve a lasting smile. Everyone knows how much of an impression a smile makes and he and his team are confident that enhancing your image will truly change your life. He prides himself on building a practice which provides care for entire families, from the youngest to the oldest. Dr. Katzman has had a lot of experience in dealing with dental phobia and therefore strives to create an environment in which even the most apprehensive patient can feel comfortable. He believes in long lasting dental work and thus strongly encourages preventative care for his patients. He takes the time to personally get to know anyone and everyone who walks through his office door.

History

Established in 2009.

Dr. Katzman had a practice for many years across from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton. In September of 2009 Dr. Katzman has moved his practice to a new modern space and a bigger facility with innovative technologies.

The office is located at 60 Leo Birmingham Parkway, Suite 201, Brighton, MA which is about a mile away from our former office. Leo Birmingham Parkway is a continuation of Market Street (Market street is called Leo Birmingham Parkway from Lincoln Street to Western Avenue). Our practice is also in close proximity to the WGBH Channel 2 Building and the Stockyard Restaurant. The telephone number will remain 617−783−1822. Business Owner

Dr. Katzman earned his bachelor’s degree from Colgate University in upstate New York and then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Michigan. He is a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society, the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society.

He has been voted many times Outstanding Dentist in the Allston/​Brighton area. He prides himself on completing many continuing education courses to upgrade and improve his growing number of skills.

This is a wonderful dentist. Dr. Katzman and his assistant, Sharon, are friendly and professional. He is the most skilled dentist anyone in my family has ever encountered and his gentleness and wry humor make what for many of us is an appointment we dread go as easy as possible. Although this is obviously a very knowledgeable man, Dr. Katzman is never arrogant or disrespectful of the patient’s needs & feelings. Sharon is always pleasant and they work great together as a team. Lina, who does the cleanings, is a sweet woman who is also very good at her job.

I have never been to a worst dentist. He left a random piece of filling between my teeth! I only found out because another dentist x-​rayed the area to figure out why I was having pain in my back teeth. He also left too big of a gap between my back teeth so I can’t floss effectively between the two anymore.
In order to get the piece of filling he left in my mouth removed, I need to have another dentist take out one of my fillings, remove the piece of random trash, and redo the filling.
Don’t trust the reviews, Dr. Katzman ruined my mouth and its going to cost thousands to fix.
Update: Dr. Katzman emailed me with an apology and offering to fix the mistakes. I’m not interested in returning to his office. In addition to the mistakes listed above, Dr. Katzman used metal for my fillings instead of tooth-​colored material. I was shocked that he did this without consulting me because all of my previous fillings have been with tooth-​colored material. He also used my chest as his dental tray, laying his tools to rest on my chest. His assistant needed a lot of instructions (or maybe she was an intern?) At any rate, it seemed very unprofessional.

I left my previous dentist when I moved to Boston — I used to make a 6 hour drive back to PA to get my teeth cleaned, but that has recently stopped being practical.
Office staff was very friendly and helpful — a must in any office. I was amazed with the speed in which they accepted a new patient. I was expecting a several week or month wait, but they got me in like, less than 24 hrs later.
Dr. Katzman himself was very nice, did a quick check, said it all looked good. In my opinion, he didn’t seem to be very thorough for a new patient, but that is probably because I said I wasn’t having any issues and was pretty casual about the whole thing, I only needed a cleaning
The hygienist was very… quiet, for lack of a better word. Very nice, but very quiet. I feel like she did a pretty good job, but didn’t get that overwhelming clean feeling I got from my previous dentist.
Equipment seemed clean, up to date, etc. Street parking only, I think…
Overall, my impression was positive. I plan on going back. The lack of the 5th star is simply because they don’t match the quality of my old dentist. Yet, anyway.

Dr. Katzman is the perfect combination of a conservative, honest old-​school dentist (in very short supply these days), and a new-​school dentist well versed in the latest methods and technologies. Very thorough — it’s clear your dental health is priority one for him.

I started going to Dr. Katzman 6 years ago and even though I no longer live in Brighton and have switched jobs many times since then, I still go back. I’ve never had any major dental issues, but regarding your typical cleaning, fillings and xrays, I’ve always found him to be very thorough and professional. Plus, he’s a genuinely nice person who always makes sure to remember a few tidbits about you when you come in. His new space is clean and nice, plus parking which is a bonus in Brighton. After some annoying experiences at Gental Dental in the past I was happy to find a dentist I’ll be sticking with for years to come.

Wonderful dentist and staff! Makes going to the dentist a pleasant and relaxing experience (so much so that I once heard a man snoring while Dr. Katzman was doing a procedure on his teeth — now that’s a gentle dentist!) Never pushes products or services and is very accommodating (made me a new retainer so I wouldn’t have to go to an orthodontist). I was so sad to leave Brighton because I knew I wouldn’t find another great dentist like Dr. Katzman.

Thanks to Gram, I now have a new dentist! She referred me to his practice, and I am so happy! The office is within walking distance of my house, the staff is very nice and Dr. Katzman was friendly and professional. He found a filling that needs to be replaced, but did not push me to have it done ASAP, he said it could wait until my next appointment if it was not bothering me. No pushy sales approach, just a nice, honest dentist. Thank you Melissa M (Gram) !

Dr. Katzman just moved to a really nice new and modern office on the Leo Birmingham Parkway, right near the Stockyard.
He is still such a nice, pleasant dentist with the sweetest most accommodating staff.
My Papa and I had back to back appointments today and we had no cavities.

Great dentist! I have been to see him four times and he is always really nice and very efficient. His hygienist is very kind and does a good job cleaning my teeth without unnecessary pain! I am a chronic teeth-​grinder, and Dr. Katzman made me a mouthguard which works WONDERFULLY. I think I still grind my teeth at night, but I don’t feel it, and I’m not wearing my teeth down!
In the summer of 2009, he moved to a new location and it’s really nice, very clean and bright, with a digital x-​ray machine that allows Dr. Katzman to show you your radiographs and discuss them with you.

Needed to find a new dentist in the Brighton area so I decided to go to Dr. Katzman because his office was an easy walk up the street.
My technician was very quiet but thorough and did a good job. Dr. Katzman was very friendly. He introduced himself to me when I got to the office and was nice when he checked my teeth over after the technician was done.
I can’t remark on the quality of actual dental work because all I needed was a cleaning and didn’t have any problem.
I left a star off because the office doesn’t have the most state of the art equipment– this seems to be the case around Brighton. The stuff looked pretty old but everything was clean. X-​rays were a little uncomfortable.
I’ll probably go back, although I might check out nearby Gentle Dental for my next cleaning to see if they have a more modern setup.
