Haven’t been to Gus’s in 15 years, and man was I missing something! First of all, the money spent on the store improvement succeeded in creating a great looking, clean place. Secondly, the service was very good, mainly the young lady that took our order(I wish I remembered her name!!! It was the Brighton location late Sunday night) was super pleasant. My wife and I ordered pizza, chicken, and greek salads. The pizza was cooked perfectly, nice and done on the top, the chicken which is am still eating today for lunch was the best I have had, and the salad was very fresh with an excellent dressing. And take it from me, I am a nice, jolly, fat guy that loves food! I am very particular about fried chicken, and theirs was outstanding! Oh yeah, I almost forgot… THEBREADSTICKS!!! OHHHHMY! I heard they are thinking about opening up a store in Pinkney, which is closer to me in Dexter, which I totally hope they do. Great carry out, great service, highly recommended!

We were super excited when they reopened after the remodel. But then we got our food. The bread sticks are always amazing. The pizza order was wrong and it was really gross. I’m not sure if the recipe changed for the pizza dough or not but it seemed really off and it has that gross stuff on the bottom of it now. Idk what they’re called but it’s like a bally flour type stuff. I asked for light sauce but they put a ton of sauce on it and made it so soggy that I couldn’t even eat it. My husband didn’t mind because he likes sauce but I’m the one who picks where to eat ;)

Stopped in while traveling between Detroit and Lansing. Ordered a club sandwich. Very tasty! Ciabatta bread and all the ingredients you would expect in a club sandwich. Carry out, not seating, well a couple park benches.

My favorite greek salad around and when combined with the hot, buttery breadsticks, you have a full meal. The large pizzas are BIG and can easily feed 3 – 4 people. Also, make sure to check the specials. The lunch specials are a good value. About what you’d pay for fast food but WAY better quality.

Worst sub I ever had. Boiled meat! really I can’t believe this could even get even a average review.

The apple salad is to die for. They’re very friendly and the woman that cashed me out was extremely helpful.

The ribs are average, but the Greek salad and breadsticks are excellent. The service is friendly and fast.

Good food. Cold if it sits a few. No heat lamps. Or they don’t use them. Service has gone down hill over the years. Sucks.

Always great food, amazing bread sticks and friendly service! Whatever Gus’s is doing to keep their staff happy and friendly, please keep encouraging that! Usually when I see teenagers working the counter in any food spot I get concerned because typically teens just want their pay check. But for whatever reason, whenever I call to order, they are awesome in the phone, and prompt nice and have a great sense of humor in person when I pick up! Every time we’ve went we’ve been thoroughly impressed with the good AND service! Can’t get enough of those crack bread sticks lol

I’ve lived in Brighton for a good number of years now, and didn’t even know this place existed until my wife’s friend asked her what she thought of Gus’s. She was told the bread sticks were heavenly, so we ordered some carry out the other day. I wanted to try the pizza too and was told by the lady there that mediums were on special for $ 4. So $ 4 for a dozen bread sticks, and $ 4 for a pizza. How is this place making money? The bread sticks… yeah. I don’t think much else needs to be said that hasn’t already. They are ridiculously good. I guarantee at some point this week we’re getting just the bread sticks as a dinner entrée. Warm, buttery, just the right amount of cheese on top, they’re purdy damn good. The pizza was a nice surprise too. It looked like a hot mess but tasted way better. They really pile on the cheese which adds significantly to its deliciousness. I’ll gladly come here again in the future to support a local spot. And to cure my bread stick addiction.

Not gourmet dinning, but for cheap ‘za, this is the place to go! Their $ 4 mediums blow Little Caesar’s away. Definitely order the breadsticks. I’m told the ribs & chicken are very good, but this is my go-to-joint for a slice.

Gus’ hits the mark every time. I’m always satisfied with my order. Usually I order either the pizza, Stromboli or the made ready salads. The two home runs are the savory breadsticks and believe it or not the homemade ranch. One other big plus, I never get pressured to leave a tip because their receipt only gives you one option — sign. My suggestion is no matter your order you most likely will be please

Salads and Breadsticks are awesome as they have been. The Ribs have suffered dramatically in quality. They used to be fall-off-the bone and tasty. Now they are tasty Tire Rubber. Combine that with a cook with an attitude dropping F-Bombs because he was upset that we ordered 4 Rib Dinners gives Gus’s a 2 Star. I can find better places to spend $ 45 on takeout.

Gus’s is my all time favorite place to go to in Brighton or Hartland. Their salads and garlic bread sticks are amazing! You can grab a bag of fresh bread sticks and some cream cheese garlic dip and you are set. There pizzas are good but a little pricey, I guess you get what you pay for! I just love the bread sticks so much by the time I am done eating them I no longer want dinner/pizza. Enjoy!

Dear Lord, Please give me the strength to make it home with some breadsticks for my family. The smell coming from the bag is so yummy, I don’t think I can make it with out some divine intervention. Amen!

I am a sucker for family owned businesses and when the people that work there are as cool as the family then the combination is gold. I have worked next door to Gus’s Carryout for more than 10 years. I might be partial but their other locations in Hartland and Howell are no different. Its hard to have this kind of continuity in a small business setting. A lot of this is due tot he fact they have one dedicate general manager and a series of dedicated managers. If I order a Gus’s Special in Brighton you can bet its the same if I order the same from Hartland/Howell. Like any business there are hiccups but there is never a turned eye to mistakes made and there is always someone ready to make it right. If I can suggest anything about Gus’s its to BUYTHEIRBREADSTICKS! Theyre so good they shouldnt be legal. Seriously ten pounds of my weight is because of these sticks. Otherwise you have to eat the Stromboli and try a Gus’s Special, «special» is an understatement. The Gus’s Special is like a garbage can pizza, it has nearly everything on it and they NEVER skimp on topings. Quality carryout pizza is the name of their game.
