Arandia & Meola Dental Group

Went back for a checkup & cleaning today and it was another flawless experience; started right on time, the whole service was quick and comfortable, and Dr. Arandia again set me at ease and patiently & clearly answered any questions I had.

My husband and I have both seen Dr. Arandia and we were VERY SATISFIED. Great dental experience. In summary:
1) The wait time was short.
2) Dr. Arandia was very friendly, had a good sense of humor and communicated well.
3) The office was very clean and newly renovated.
I’ve had awful experiences with dentists. they were happy to over charge me but didn’t provide the time and care I paid for. Dr. Arandia took the time to explain what he was going to do before doing it, he made sure I wasn’t in pain and afterwards made sure I knew how to take care of my teeth after the procedure.
Dental appointments can be scary, especially when you don’t really understand what’s going on or why they are using extremely sharp tools. Dr. Arandia went beyond the call of duty to show that he really cares. I have recommended him to several family members and friends, and they have been equally satisfied.
**Helpful Hint: The front of the building reads «A|M Dental Group» in big black letters. We had some difficulty finding the office at first, since we were searching for a sign that said «Arandia & Meola.»

I’ve seen Dr. Arandia in Waltham and went here as I could get an appointment the next day. I was very impressed by the office on the inside, very elegant and clean surroundings and very friendly receptionist. After a short wait I was taken in and seen by Dr. Arandia himself. After listening to my issue (an annoying small but big issue of one bottom tooth constantly moving even tho I’m religious with my retainer) he took some x-​rays and recommended that I consider a permanent retainer. He had his assistant do the mold that day, which I greatly appreciated. I was back about a month later and Dr. Arandia put in the retainer, explaining everything as he did so – which I needed as I was nervous even though nothing involved needles or anything invasive. He took the time to explain that the retainer would take me time to get used to and to call for an appointment to make an adjustment if it was still uncomfortable in a week or two. Its been several months and my tooth no longer moves or feels sensitive, and I don’t notice the permanent retainer at all. I highly recommend this office and Dr. Arandia for any patient that wants a great dental experience.

I made an appointment with Dr. Arandia in March 2013 for a cleaning and a consult. The cleaning was perfunctory at best as they literally just brushed my teeth with toothpaste and flossed them, all of which one can typically do unassisted, at home.
As this simple procedure was not done very thoroughly, I felt uneasy going back for more involved treatment, so I decided to find another dentist. When I made an appointment with someone else and called Dr. Arandia’s office to have them send over the xrays that they took, which my insurance paid in full at the time, I was told that I needed to pay a $ 35 administrative fee to have them sent either to myself or to the new doctor.
Needless to say, this was very shocking as I have had dental work done in Boston before, and other dentists’ offices simply emailed me the xrays without any additional charge, and I cannot imagine that hitting ‘Send’ on an email is that time-​consuming of a task.
When I protested the charge, all that the office assistant could tell me was that the fee was mentioned in the disclosure fine print that I signed on my first (and only) appointment, so I therefore agreed to it.
BEWARE of these people. Like other reviewers have said, the work they do is lacking severely in terms of quality and attention, and they are greedy. There are plenty of good dentists in the Boston area to choose from so, if you care about your teeth and your wallet, keep searching.

Pros: very cozy office, dental assistant very friendly and understanding …
Cons: they tried to get $ 500 out of me, for fixing 3 cavities … After I got home and checked with my insurance, they told me the dentist ordered white fillings (which are not covered) without asking me …
I changed dentist and the new one found out I have 6 more cavities (I know, I didn’t see dentist for 3 years) … HOW CAN YOU MISS 6 CAVITIES??? if it’s one or two, it’s just weird, but 6!!! that should cost you your diploma …
Never going back …

Let me begin by saying that I have a complete phobia of dentists and their offices. I am terrified of going to the dentist, but Dr. Arandia and his staff made me feel completely at ease. The receptionist was polite and friendly, and Dr. Arandia was patient and very calming. I cannot recommend this place enough!
