Ocean Edge Resort

We stayed there over thanksgiving for a couple nights. Stayed in the west wing. So as you probably already gathered the mansion and grounds and property are quite nice. Very scenic! We had excellent weather which helped. They put on a great thanksgiving buffet meal in the mansion. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. Turkey, roast beef, etc. All fantastic. We also had a light lunch in the pub within the mansion. Had the fish tacos and they were ok. Great drinks though and a lot of fun at the pub! Super friendly service on all accounts
As for the west wing, we were on the first floor. No view from the rooms at all. The rooms are nice with plenty of electrical outlets (pet peeve) but the beds are very uncomfortable. So much so I was waking up all night long. The heating/​cooling unit is built into the wall (looks like an add-​on) and is noisy as hell! Cycling on and off all night long. Killer. Also the shower had some mildew on the ceiling — kind of gross but nothing a spritz of bleach won’t correct. The shower door only covers half the tub. So water splashes out the back all over the floor and also leaks through the front of it under the door– end result is as if there is no door. Floor is completely soaked after every shower. I had to sacrifice a towel each time to block the flood on the floor– the bath mat was not absorbent enough. Finally– the toilet was one of those longer elliptical shaped bowels– well they put a toilet seat on for a round bowl. This was just odd and kind of ghetto with the whole front end of the bowl not covered by the seat ?!? Certainly not a critical feature but any place with «resort» in the name and prices like that might be expected to pay attention to the little things

I had my wedding at Ocean Edge on October 10, 2015. I booked my wedding in August and I received spectacular service from Stacy in sales. From there on in, it went down hill. The grounds are spectacular. Very posh and luxurious. My fiancé and I were supposed to be VIP’s. We were roomed next to a couple with 3 toddlers on our wedding night.
Besides the shuttle not picking me up before my wedding, and having to trek with friends in my wedding dress across the property for my first look photos. Everyone has made an excuse on why my wedding went the way it did. My wedding planner, Julieann, and her supervisor Ray, had no incentive to have my wedding of less than 50 people work. He decided that we didn’t need a rehearsal, didn’t use our signs that told people where to go the day of. We had 2 weddings with the same last name the day of. And we were the second wedding to book. The day of there were 4 weddings going on, on the property the day of my wedding and my planner could not be bothered.
Stacy is the only reason that I am being nice on here. She went above and beyond for us and the wedding planner and her supervisor couldn’t follow through. There were so many balls dropped at my wedding you would think that armatures were planning it.
I do not think a bride should have to wonder the property in search for a shuttle to be on time to there wedding. Do you know how hard it is to maneuver a wedding dress around a property trying to get your first look pictures? Unacceptable. Yes I smiled but I was mad as hell.
I’ve tried speaking with the manager, and he has no solution except a meeting. I know how much they screwed up, you have given over 2 weeks for your staff to make excuse on why the ball was dropped so many areas of my wedding. It really makes me angry. You think that they would comp me a 3 night stay, which I paid for, at over $ 350 a night being a VIP, and take money off my wedding for making me and my guests wait. And ruining my timeline of events my mother was even told my event was over even before It had begun because my wedding planner wasn’t doing her job.
Seriously, my room wasn’t even cleaned the night of my wedding. I was so disappointed. We had a buffet reception and I wasn’t able to eat because I was busy socializing and my plate kept getting taken away. I had 4 butlered h’ourderves and they hardly went around with them before they threw them out. My wedding party wanted more but the waitress threw them out.
On top of that I have a significant shellfish allergy, and up to 6 days prior to the wedding they had lobster rolls still on menu. I’m allergic to crustations not shell fish that so not contain iodine. Others are also allergic, and I guaranteed no crustations would be there and they still put out, may contain shellfish!
I could not begin to tell you how upset I am, there was only one person who cared about my wedding and that was the woman who booked it. That was Stacy. She was wonderful.
My wedding planner wanted to drop my flowers and my bridal bouquet that were overnighted from Hawaii in my room the night before my wedding and because there were specific instructions! I dropped off my tuxes and dress on the Tuesday prior to my wedding. You think she could of delivered them all to my room at the same time? Nope! She wanted to go home. She wanted me to refrigerate my bouquet in my room dorm fridge!
My wedding was a free for all, my planner didn’t care or meet my expectations. Especially for the money shelled out. I could go on and on about everything that went wrong, but I can tell you money is the factor here. I had an amateur photographer who did stellar photos, while the resort who specializes in weddings couldn’t even get it right.
My husband has reached out on several occasions and we are continually getting the run around. It is almost 3 weeks later.
I wouldn’t recommend my wedding planner, and I seriously got better service at the ocean terrace than I did at my wedding. All and all is sad. A bride and groom should be a VIP, but we weren’t treated as such. What a thorough disappointment. My mother even said we would of gotten better service around where we lived in Chelmsford, opposed to a destination wedding at half the cost. I really wanted the experience, and boy did I get one. You have to spend $ 30−40K to get good service. I’m 38, my planner thought I was in my early 20’s. Until she met my biological son who is almost 21. Then she said to me, did you have him when you were 10? Clearly inappropriate.
Love the grounds and some of the staff but clearly, even if your a VIP, unless your spending over $ 20K your treated like you do not belong. It’s sad, clearly. My most memorable day, I will never forget. I married my one true love however, is and our guests were cast aside because we didn’t have the big money. We wanted personal and intimate. My wedding planner refused to set up more than 2 centerpieces. How crazy is that? Venue is not what it seems. They are all about the $

I stayed in the mansion with my wife for a couple of nights. Rooms were clean and tastefully decorated. Staff was very friendly. The breakfast buffett was good but a bit pricy at $ 18 a pop. The staff let us go on te beach for free since it was the end of the season but otherwise there would have been a fee. The beach was nice with plenty of tidal pools for children to plan in. The bay water was perfectly clear!
Nice place on Cape Cod. I would go again but not pay the 400 – 600 per nice that others have mentioned. I got a deal for around 300 a night.

Great location.
Very surprised how beautiful the rooms are! Easy access from parking lot! Clean accommodation, friendly staff and the price we paid for a 3 night stay over Labor Day was unreal! If this place was in the hamptons it would’ve a $ 1000 a night resort and it would be sold out every single night!
Love it!

We are staying on the village side and it is great the 1 bedroom unit is clean and comfortable I don’t know why other reviews are so bad. We are close to the pool which has a nice hot tub no kids permitted in the hot tub. We used the fitness center at the mansion which is small but adequate. I have no complaints we are very happy with everything

Unbelievable drinks and service by Marina and Catherine at Roscommon. The ladies hold down a busy room while making service drinks and look fabulous while doing so.
In addition to the exceptional service, it is a wonderful spot to smalltalk locals as well as international guests.
Get here for sunset and you may be in for a special treat as heat lightning over Provincetown may be seen at regular intervals across Cape Cod Bay.

Although the room is setup nicely, it is an older mansion style setting, and thus some furnishings are just not up to par. For $ 600/​night, that price buys a lot more at a Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons, but those are not located on the Cape… unfortunately. Service staff was probably the biggest disappointment. At the Ritzes, the staff tend to go far out of their way to be polite and helpful. I had several cut us off when walking, smash into our dinner table and not really attempt to apologize, and the maid knocked on our door at 8am for room service. I came to this place expecting much more, but was disappointed unfortunately. Much of the staff seem to be foreign youth or teenagers off on summer break, which would explain the consistent uncouth behavior.
As for the private beach, while umbrellas and chairs at your service are great, it is not so private of a beach because anybody can walk there from the surrounding area. Coming from California and Hawaii, east coast beaches just don’t seem as inviting or even as clean. But perhaps I am just biased.
The main reason we stayed here is because it seemed like the best option in the entire Cape area. Perhaps I just need to change my expectations…

Pros:
— Beautiful compound, trails, golf course, courts, pool
— Great to have a kitchenette which was fully functional with all appliances and dishes, spotless silverware
— Cons:
— Value for money for the stay was pretty low. The quality/​construction of the rooms was in a rundown state for the room tariff. They need to be renovated for customers to pay that kind of room tariff
— Britterage cottages were very way below expectations /​marketed pictures. The amenities, views, cleanliness and access to parking varied by the cottage location
— Reservations were not sensitive to the guests profile /​needs which were very communicated at the of the booking
–Instructions /​access to information about activities (bike rental, gyms, pools) was nowhere found. No one picked the phone for bike rental, front desk wasn’t sure of the timing for bike rental, reservations for buggies wasn’t available for the only buggy they had on the one of the busiest (and most beautiful) sunny days of the year. We couldn’t bike ride on the trail, which ruined a beautiful sunny vacation day for us (out of the 2.5 days we had planned for)\
— Sign boards for clear directions to rooms or staff to help were nowhere to be seen. We kept circling around in the villages at 11pm for 40 minutes just to find our assigned room
— Pretty average stay for an exceedingly above average price

Had a good time up in cape cod, no credit to this resort. Service is TERRIBLE.
— cleaning staff did not replace towels, coffee nor toiletries, it was great to wait over an hour late at night in order to take a shower
— room request was never acknowledged nor honored
— got multiple bug bites which makes me question cleanliness
— they charge extra for everything (tennis, fitness classes, etc) which would be fine except the yoga instructor showed up over 15 min late
— beach staff didn’t even help get extra towels for us when we requested them and had to find them ourselves!!!
— terrible staff attitude when I informed them of the problems. They clearly don’t care and manager never called back when requested to follow up
— btw, the «private» beach is not that impressive so definitely not worth the premium
There are enough places to stay out on cape cod so don’t think this place is worth the infuriating service.

Ocean Edge is a very pretty property. rooms are stunning, and there are many activities. A little pricey, which is a drawback. Restaurants in the resort are also pricey. Beach and pools are well-​maintained.

–asked for check-​in and room preferences the night before but completely ignored them (chose check in time of before noon and chose preference of preferred view but our view was a parking lot)
–waited four hours for the room to be ready even though we were told it would be ready shortly (when we checked in), if you told us the truth at noon we wouldn’t have spent four hours sitting and waiting for the room (every hour someone told us it would be ready shortly), when the front desk lady asked us what she could do to help the situation, we said we wouldn’t mind a round of drinks on the house while we waited and she just chuckled and ignored the request
–outdoor pool was closed for a private function, wouldn’t have even stayed here if we knew that, front desk didn’t bother to mention that when we checked in, we were looking forward to the pool all day but instead spent our time waiting for our «almost ready» room and by the time we were finally checked in and went to the pool it was closed
–had to wait 20 min to sit at the ocean terrace for lunch even though there were several open tables
–AC in our room didn’t work properly
–no water bottles in the room
–called the front desk to ask for a taxi and they wouldn’t call it for us, they tried to give me the number to call myself but I couldn’t write in down because there was no pen or paper in the room
–overall, my friends and I were very disappointed in our stay considering we paid $ 505 for one night, it seems the hotel focuses on the wedding guests at the expense of the other hotel guests, I’m definitely going to recommend to my friends that they DON’T stay here and I will never come back
–very poorly run and was such a disappointment considering the grounds are beautiful

We stayed at the villages last weekend and absolutely loved it! Clean and spacious; perfect for our family of 3. My daughter loved the outside pool near the golf course and of course Brewster is a gem of its own. Would def go back!

Place has everything and more. Somewhat spread out so it’ll feel like senior citizen golf course living (which is kind of what it is). Don’t stay within Ocean Edge the entire time — there’s a nice seafood shack across Main St. from the Villages side, for example.
Beach is nice, can get crowded. We left through some random residential street (not the path everyone enters on), so you can definitely sneak in. You won’t get towels or chairs though.
Lawn activities were fun. You can ask them to borrow stuff at any time.

My wife and I had our wedding at Ocean’s Edge in 2015.
PROS:
Rita was a tremendous help catering to our budget and we couldn’t have done it without her.
Although overpriced, our hotel room was beautiful (even though they would not comp it for dropping tens of thousands of dollars for our wedding to be held there and selling out our blocks of rooms both on the mansion side and villas side).
The food was great and well received.
CONS:
After you sign the contract you have ZERO wiggle room. That’s it. Don’t even attempt to make a request after you sign, it’ll receive the response «I’m sorry, we can’t do that, it’s not in your contract.»
We were told we’d be getting married in the newly renovated Carriage House, which was one of the deciding factors for us to go with Ocean’s Edge. The day before our wedding we show our parents the Carriage House and were told upon entering «Oh yeah, we didn’t get to the renovation. Sorry.» SCAMMED.
If your wedding does not start on time due to reasons out of you and your guests controls, you will not be allowed to extend your reception to fulfill the 4 or 5 hours that you PAID for. The managers were solid on their stance, even with us, the bride and groom, pleading with them.
If you have your reception in the Carriage House be warned that the dance floor will be covered in black gaffer’s tape which your guests (and you) will definitely trip on throughout the night (and the tape was put on during dinner. KSSHHHHHRRRK!!).
The resort holds multiple weddings on the same day at the same time. You will run into the other wedding throughout the day and night. We were promised we wouldn’t even SEE the other party. We were wrong. It is, afterall, a wedding factory.
OVERALL:
We regret having our wedding here. If you want a lovely Cape Cod wedding, I’d advise to stay away from this resort. Many galleries and restaurants and even private residences will cater to your needs.

We stayed in the West Wing of the mansion. The rooms were beautifully appointed and very stylish. We thought the facilities were clean, well-​maintained, friendly staff. There were lots of recreation facilities as well, including clay-​coated tennis courts, a large indoor swimming pool, workout room, and beach access.
The breakfast in the hotel was a delicious buffet, for $ 18.50. If you don’t eat much, you probably won’t get your money’s worth, but most could get a great meal out of this price.
One of my very favorite hotel experiences. Absolutely beautiful and I picture it being an amazing location for a honeymoon.

The hotel is over priced. I paid $ 350 a night and the night we stayed was actually advertised for $ 237 on a last minute hotel app, which I would say is closer to a more appropriate price for the room. I have stayed on both sides The Mansion side and The Villages side. With The Mansion you get access to the private beach and all the pools, so pretty much the whole property. The Mansion is like staying in a studio condo. The Villages side is like staying in a one bedroom condo w/​a kitchen but you don’t have access to the private beach or pools on the mansion side. There is a shuttle that takes you back and forth between the properties and also to another public beach if you stay on The Villages side. This review is for my stay on The Mansion side. I was expecting our room to be a little nicer for the price and the photos on the website made it look really nice but it was just meh. We stayed on a Saturday night and when we checked in I was hoping we could hang out by the pool before dinner but the outdoor pool closes between 4 & 5 on Saturdays for weddings and private functions, which was disappointing. The guy at the desk told us that they had an indoor pool in our building we were staying in that we would enjoy. I was very skeptical, and rightfully so. The indoor pool was very loud and humid, it didn’t feel fresh or relaxing which is what I was looking for. We went to the beach instead which was nice and the beach attendants were very helpful and attentive. My biggest gripe is the weddings the hotel was hosting. I understand that hotels host weddings but the way that this hotel handled it made the regular guests a second priority to the weddings, for example closing the only outdoor pool to accommodate the weddings. There were two weddings going on while we were there and we were kinda shuffled away as to not disturb them when we were checking in. It just made the experince of being at a resort (which wasn’t cheap) uncomfortable and if I was to come back I wouldn’t stay on the weekend again because I didn’t find the relaxing environment I was looking for or paying for.
While we were there we only ate at Beyzo’s Pub, literally horrible, so bad we didn’t want to try another of their restaurants. Bland food, horrible service (waitress disappeared and only came back to present check), the dishes they served the food on were visibly grimy, and everything is way overpriced!!! Eat anywhere but on property.

Pros: Beautiful property.
Room, very spacious.
Pools: great, very spacious grounds and huge pool.
Cons: Very spread out, can’t do much walking to onsite attractions. Have to drive everywhere including to breakfast, pool, or registration.
Food not very good at resort and expensive. Tried two breakfast places, mansion lobby and Linx neither would I return to. Lunch at Sharkbites wasn’t great either but the drinks were good. Salad was very dry and chicken fingers were generic frozen food.
Signage horrible, very difficult to navigate your way around. Couldn’t even find registration. The Villages is down the road from the mansion on the opposite side of the street.
Room: very loud can hear everything from the people above you.
Beach: for some reason guest of The Villages aren’t allowed on their (private beach) yet it’s not a private beach because it’s used by others at nearby condos or private homes and its huge.
Room service never came had to call lobby.

Has all the makings of a great resort with multiple pools, tennis, golf and private beach access for guests. Restaurants on location too but in terms of quality it fails in many ways unfortunately. It met my needs but won’t attract again and I’d say it is a must to stay in a villa near the beach otherwise on top of a nice view of the golf course. The amount of land and lower quality accommodation options is large do go for the top of the mark and you’ll be fine.

This place was ok. We stayed on the Villages side of the resort for a weekend.
Pros:
–close in proximity to the mansion and beach area
–private
–quiet
–nice inside
Cons:
–Buildings show much more wear than the mansion side
–Indoor pool was far away and super lame – cold water
–No ramps to be found-​carrying luggage down wooden steps is rough
–no room service
–kind of a trip to «Linx» restaurant, but that was ok because they have bad ratings on Unilocal and we decided not to go anyway :/​
The shuttle service is a nice touch, it still seems a bit detached from the mansion side of things. Almost felt like renting someone’s condo as opposed to being at a resort at times.

The Ocean Edge Resort has everything you’re looking for. Golf course, private beaches, Pools, Tennis courts, indoor pools, ponds, great restaurants, gym, etc… Wait! That is just inside the resort! Brewster town is simply adorable! You can rent bikes and go for bike rides on the bike trails for almost 20 miles!
This resort is beautiful, well kept! The service is fantastic, not to mention accommodations!
If you are looking for a family gateway or just for two, this is the place to be!
