I asked a few friends and did some research on the ones that were suggested and found that Ms. Buzzard was not only highly recommended by one friend but several other people who I mentioned her name to when asked who was representing me.
Ms. Buzzard and staff have your best interest and your finances at heart. They are very professional both inside and out of court. You will not feel like you are in this battle alone.
My ex-​to-​be has an attorney that likes to milk his retainer down so that she can line her pockets with more money. She does this by constantly emailing Ms Buzzard about silky, trivial things and things that are fabricated to get a rise out of us. Ms Buzzard will read them but will not pass it on unless it is absolutely necessary. This means that there is a lot of useless garbage that I have not had to deal with or worry and stress about. She knows that this is the last thing her client needs to deal with at this time.
If you want an attorney that sees you as a dollar sign, then there are many in the area for you to choose from. If you want to feel like you are being represented well, then you have found the right law office!

I was going through a very difficult divorce with an attorney who took all my money and then left me high and dry when my case was just started. One of the brightest and compassionate woman I have ever met. We are in the process of making changes to a legal document and while I have had what seem to some as «endless questions,» Ruth has been
extremely patient me, even calling me at home to make sure my concerns have been met. I cannot think of anyone better to work with when you have a complicated trust document and (of course) want to have done to perfection. She even helped with documents from banks, medical forms, and explained everything, AND we had the document in a very timely manner-​and with not one single mistake. I would recommend her, and her assistant to anyone living in eastern or far eastern Contra Costa County. She also did not change us until the entire process was complete and we had all of my concerns put to rest. And when we needed to make an amendment to the document, she went to a great deal of time and compassion explaining why my idea really was not a good one, and even asked me to think about it over the weekend and call her on the following Monday. She takes phone calls! She has been in practice in Brentwood for quite some time and was recommended to us by another professional we know who uses her.
We understand she is also HIGHLY regarded in the somewhat contentious area of family law, but because she is such a warm and compassionate person, I believe she is able to steer clients to mediation and when she cannot, she has a stellar reputation with the other attorney she works with. The review above mine also mentions this, but it cannot be over stated that the calm, personable and polite manner would make her perfect in all areas of law. And her staff are also very
friendly and have phenomenal cheerful people skills and messages are promptly return, generally by Ms Buzzard. She has become a,“professional friend,” and business handled by someone you trust and respect is always preferred.
We give her the highest possible rating and feel blessed to have been referred to her to assist with this most important part of life. She truly has a very quick mind, treats each client as if they were her most important client, and her staff have the patience of women far beyond their years!

The worst attorney ever ! Took my money and did absolutely nothing. She didn’t file what I asked her to. She incorrectly told me that my court date was moved when it wasn’t and I almost missed my court date ! It has now been two weeks since I fired her and she has not returned what’s left on my retainer fee and can’t even tell me what’s left of it ! If I could do it all again I wouldn’t pay her a dime. Lesson learned…
