Established in 2004.

John Thayer’s training in the field of Luthiery began through self-​taught experience. At an early age John created several electric guitars. John attended the Roberto Venn School of Luthiery in 2002. During that time he created two electric and two acoustic guitars. John spent additional time at Roberto Venn as an assistant to Robert Mazzullo, one of the instructors at the school. As an assistant he continued his education through hands on experience by building additional acoustic guitars and completing a variety of repairs on many stringed musical instruments. John went on to work under the guidance of the world-​renowned master luthier, Ervin Somogyi in Oakland California. Ervin refined John’s understanding of acoustic guitar construction and voicing, among other things. Since returning to Bremerton Washington, John has created a business (in 2004) around guitar building and repair.
