The Motherloaded Tavern

Tried to go there with my family tonight. We stood at the door for 10 minutes and were never acknowledged. Didn’t seem that busy either. Guess they didn’t want our business though so me moved on…

The not-​chos were totally delicious. Cocktails were good too.

This place is cozy and has great food. I’ve came here on both of my trips to Breck. They have a decent beer selection and plenty of food options. They have live music regularly on the weekends if that’s your thing (it should be because you’re in Breck). Try the Modus Hoperandi if you like IPAs. I got the Ring of Fire burger and it was the bees knees. Definitely will be coming back here for some more beer and food.

The Motherloaded Tavern has the best burger in Breckenridge in my opinion, and I tried several while in town. We did have to wait for a table, but enjoyed the saloon in the back with a really great bartender serving up original cocktails with the house made infused liquor. The drinks packed a lot of flavor and were served in mason jars at an affordable price. Most of us ordered burgers with various toppings and we were all super impressed. One of our guests ordered the fish and chips which was actually salmon deep fried and served with a delicious sauce for dipping. Motherloaded was worth the wait and once we were seated, service was fast and friendly and this is one restaurant I would definitely stop in again while in town.

If you’re looking for a cozy restaurant to grab a bite and take a break from the cold then this is definitely the place. Family friendly restaurant serving delicious southern food in the heart of Breckinridge. Even though the restaurant was packed I was seated promptly and the wait time to order/​receive food was reasonable. The dishes are plentiful and the prices are excellent. Tried the fried okra and fried cheese curds. So good! Also had the meatloaf panini with a side of mashed potatoes with white gravy. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

One of my favorite places to eat in Breck. Love the Mac and cheese egg rolls! Make a reservation if you are planning to go after 6:30pm.

Good prices and good bar food. The service was good and even though it was packed, the wait wasn’t to long. Thee restaurant area is good for families and they have a full bar area with live music some nights in the back, that is a lot of fun.

A 20 minute wait turns into 45 mins then to 90 minutes with a complete lack of an intelligent thought

A bad experience that is going to take you a long time to have — it won’t be painful, but swift
Just when you think it can’t get worse a manager might come by and just give you a free plate of French fries, «because you really look hungry».
Lots of other better choices all within ½ mile

Love this place. Our family makes sure we eat here on our annual trip! The kids love the Chicken and waffles and the husband loves the mashed potatoes and steakloaf. The fried pickle spears are amazing! The wait can be long, but the food is 100% worth it.

It met all my expectations! Mac&Cheese Eggrolls, chicken&waffles, salmon fish&chips, cheeseburger were the items on our ticket. OMG delicious! They even had Dr Pepper for this DFW Texan. If you love comfort food like momma made, this is the place in Breckenridge!

A very «bar» atmosphere for surprisingly awesome food!!! The goat cheese risotto is so delicious!!! We also got the chicken & waffles which were good too, but the other dish was unexpected!

I’ve never had fried salmon before. Definitely recommend the fish and chips. Was da bomb.

Great service came in as a group of 9 and they were very accommodating to us as soon as we got in we had a seat! I got the fish and chips it was very moist and truly enjoyed it also the fried pickle was delicious as well definitely recommend this place

Friendly fast and delicious ! Warm environment great vibes. Highly recommended. We are visiting from out of town and we ate here on our first night and I must say my friends and I really enjoyed it

We had a great experience at this place. We showed up in a party of 10 where 6 were kids under the age of 7. They were so welcoming and the food was delicious. Really enjoyed it

I’ve had almost everything on the menu and I have never came across something I didn’t like! My favorite go-​to is the Ranchero Burger, with a thick juicy patty, bacon, avocado and ranch. I also love the fish and chips, fried cheese curds and the loaded not-​chos. The food and all the specialty drinks are delicious. I also highly recommend the fried twinkie for dessert, yum!

I’m going 5 stars in hopes of bumping the rating to at least a 4 because I think they deserve it. I really enjoy The Motherloaded Tavern. I go about once a year because I know I’m going to have a solid meal. I can speak highly of the chicken and waffles, fried chicken platter, loaded Mac and cheese and the steak sandwich.
The place is always packed with people which says a lot (I also tend to go busy times of the year and during lunch or dinner). You are given an old liquor bottle filled with water to keep hydrated which I think is something cool and different.
Now the best part: the drink menu. The tavern has their own infused vodkas, specialty cocktails and your everyday beer options. Get out of your element and try something different!

First of all the food was delicious. A little bit expensive but still yum.
But the service I got from the bar man was terrible. He was rude and very impatient the whole night with us, not willing to chat and hurrying us up when we were trying to decide what to eat. He said «can you hurry up I’ve got other orders to take». But the real negative was when we came to pay at the end, my friend and I are not from America so we’re trying to work out how much to tip and split the bill. He got extremely angry and said something like «well I can tell you two have never been to America» implying we were idiot tourists.
Sorry to say but loved the food but will not be coming back as twice he has ruined our night there.

The food was great, but the service was very slow. I got a burger, my husband got the cow girl steak and cheese and my daughter got the buttermilk chicken tenders. All were good, but I found myself stealing my child’s chicken fingers. They were so good! We also had a couple of cocktails. The coolest thing is that they infuse their own vodkas & tequilas. Yum!
We didn’t get this, but we will next time is their s’mores dessert. It looked amazing.

A new favorite in Breck!!! We have been coming to Breck for years and this was our first visit to MotherLoad. We were completely surprised with the variety of high quality «comfort» food. Don’t be fooled by the looks of the place. The food is outstanding. We started with the chicken wings for appetizer and they were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside with excellent Sauce. We also shared the Mac and cheese… my wife admitted «this is better than my homemade mac and cheese». My wife had this awesome blue berry and watermelon salad with incredible dressing. Our entrée was the meatloaf and mashed potatoes… awesome!!! Loved every bit about. Also, want to mention the wait staff were very attentive and helpful.

First time in, we only decided to stop here since everywhere else was so busy. Definitely not a fan, nothing special about the food. Service was super slow, the waiter was very nice but the food took forever to come out. When it did come out only half the table’s food came out and it took around 15 minutes to get the rest of the food. Don’t go here if you are looking for exceptional food and fast service.

Wonderful lunch at Motherloaded Tavern. Terrific fool, cocktail and they brought strips of bacon for our dogs. Our go to place in Breck!

I haven’t used my credit card in months. Shortly after paying for my meal at MotherLoaded several thousands of dollars in unauthorized transactions posted to my account for airline tickets.
The servers name listed on my recipe was Ja shoe wah.
The food was ok, try the deep fried cheese curds. And make sure you pay with cash.

I’ve only been to Motherloaded for drinks, but on our last visit we ordered the Nachos (Not-​chos) and they were amazing. House made potato chips with cheese sauce AND cheese. I would definitely recommend trying them if you’re looking for an appetizer, and I usually don’t like nachos with potato chips. I also like most of the house infused vodkas that I’ve tried. A great place to stop on Main St.

Like everything on Main St in Breckenridge this restaurant is a shining example of how to run a successful business. Its clear that someone is paying attn to detail — im basing this on customer service consistency and protocol that everyone seems to follow. So why the star off you ask. The answer is the food. The one dish we got was the «Not-​Chos». The potatoes were dry and thin which just doesnt work for this dish. Im not saying it was badly prepared — its more that it was poorly designed — this dish only works with thicker chips.

We stopped in for a quick lunch because they had cheese curds. Cheese curds are a staple in the Midwest, so when you’re deprived, its all you crave. In Colorado, no one knows what a cheese curd is (they’ve never lived). The cheese curds were OK, they had too much batter and not enough cheese (I’m extremely spoiled with all of the awesome cheese curd options and varieties in Minnesota). Anyways, for my meal I tried the peanut butter bacon burger and had a side salad. I was not impressed with the burger. I love it when the peanut butter is melted and oozing all over the place. Again, I am very spoiled when it comes to burgers. The peanut butter looked cold and like it didn’t belong there. The burger itself was just a frozen patty that was grilled. Overall, I probably wouldn’t come for the food again, but it’s on my list to check out the night experience and the fancy drinks! I recommend stopping in and grabbing a drink and enjoy the night life.

–They night scene seems on point, they have bands, awesome drink specials, BANDS, and a cool room in the back — I’d almost classify it as a dive
–They infused their own whiskey and vodka (I had to drive to the airport so I didn’t drink)

–Just wasn’t impressed with the food

The bartender from The Canteen recommended this spot. Thank you! Amazing service, we were immediately greeted by a young hip guy who made us feel right at home, like we had been life long friends. We asked him what was good to eat and he said it’s a tough choice because it was all good but recommend the Mac Daddy. OMG was it GOOD!!! It was crab loaded Mac and cheese! We also got the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes, delicious also. 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for All American comfort food! #Chomp
