Students of all levels of experience are welcome.

History

Established in 1976.

In 1976, Ric Campman and Barbara Merfeld Campman founded the River Gallery School with after-school classes for children in the Ingenuity Shops on Putney Road in Brattleboro, Vermont. Art classes for adults followed, and the move to our present studios on Main Street, overlooking the Connecticut River. In recent years, the school has expanded both its curriculum and its space. New classes have been added introducing the opportunity to work with new materials and in a new way. Each year has brought a deepening of the school’s vision and of its commitment to the community. Throughout all the changes and growth, the original vision and mission of the school have remained constant.
