I came here for the first time yesterday and was a little disappointed after hearing good things. My boyfriend ordered our sandwiches and after waiting a while he only received his. So he asked the girl and she said she forgot about mine… not very good service. I got the #11 Foccacia which is grilled chicken with mesclun greens, pesto and sun dried tomatoes. The bread was really good but the chicken was burnt which kind of ruined the sandwich for me. I had higher expectations for a place with good reviews.

Not too sure what it was this go around but I have had way better experiences. Probably will eventually be back but maybe leave some time to have this past experience blow over.

Fantastic little family owned deli. Great food and reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly as well. I had the chicken gagliana on a roll and it was great. Pretty steady flow of regulars coming through so it’s clearly a neighborhood favorite. I’d definitely come back here.

I love the staff, especially the Italian Mamma! This is a great lunch spot. I always get the chicken flag on focaccia with a Foxon soda. If I’m feeling adventurous, I’ll get some Mac salad as well. The prices are fair, but get your sandwich to go because the place is small. If the weather is nice, I recommend that you sit outside.

Definitely one of the best Italian delis in the area, food is way above average and their steak and cheeses are awesome. Prices are fair, service is quick, no complaints about P&M. A bit off the beaten path if you’re not from Branford, but worth popping it into Google Maps if you’re hungry and looking for a quick lunch. Their prepared foods are great, too.

My boyfriend treated me here yesterday because he always raved about how great the food was and he works right around the corner. I was so excited to finally give it a try! I ordered The Chicken Flag which he always told me was his favorite.(He likes it «a la P&M» which has eggplant.) The Chicken Flag consists of a delicious chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil, and olive oil on an amazing sub, which costs a well-worth it $ 7.(You also have the option to get it on a roll for $ 6.) I think the people making the food behind the counter were nice, although I wasn’t really paying attention while my bf ordered. I was too busy fawning over the dessert case lol. I really wish I had purchased something from it, cause everything looked so delicious! Next time though. :-) As mentioned in other reviews, it is a bit cramped inside, but we went around 1:30 so the line/wait was not bad at all. The blonde counter girl was very upbeat, friendly, fast and efficient at ringing up orders and had a genuine smile on all the while. Can’t wait to go back!

Whole grinder for $ 7?! Yes please. The roast beef was beyond fantastic. They also have cute little mini cannolis for 99 cents. Delish. Interior is cramped, but the line moves quickly.

Great sandwiches, and the pizza ain’t bad either. Their number’s on my cell phone’s speed dial for those days when I want a pie to pick up on my way home from work. Friendly staff, too! There are a few tables both inside and out, but this is mostly a take-out place.

My favorite italian deli hands down. Ive been eating here for years and in a town with a few great breakfast places never thought to get a Bacon Egg & Cheese from here. Well they make the best BE&C ive ever had outside of homemade. If you are in the area, do your stomach a favor.

when you need a quick filling sandwich or a plate of veal and mushroms this is the place to get satisfied. I haven’t had the pie, but that seems popular too.

This place is awesome. The quality of all their ingredients is excellent. They offer a choice of 15 – 20 hot special dishes, most of which are served in either a sub or hard roll, all of which are extremely inexpensive and great. My favorite special is the Chicken Gaggiana which is chunks of chicken simmered in a spicy cream gorgonzola sauce w/roasted red peppers & melted provolone. On a sub roll it comes in at $ 7. It’s awesome! The fried spagetti balls are also excellent(they sound weird, but trust me, they’re great).

Good sandwich shop. Very good. I had a chicken parm focaccia bread sandwich which would beat the pants off of any high priced restaurant in the area. I have driven by this place for 3 years and never knew it was there. I have been missing out. Good italian market, great sandwich.

P & M is geared towards being an Authentic Italian Deli. It’s got some great Subs, a decent selection — both hot and cold. If you’re in the area, or in need of something for lunch, stop by here and pick up a Sub or some other Italian-esque grub. They offer Pizza here as well, however, I have yet to try it, being as I’m spoiled by New Haven/East Haven pizza.

P&M is your basic around-the-corner Italian sandwich and pizza shop. The only problem is that the sandwiches aren’t that great and the pizza is subpar for the New Haven area(but it is super cheap). There is a decent selection of prepared meals consisting of the usual Italian favorites. They just recently started having Sunday hours and offering breakfast sandwiches in the mornings. There are a few tables inside the otherwise tiny shop to eat on the premises. There are also a few nice tables with umbrellas for outdoor eating in the warmer months. Overall, P&M isn’t a bad option when you’re feeling lazy on the way home from work or when you feel the need for a sub(maybe I’m not the only person who feels that urge).
