I have never brought my 2012 Mustang (which I named Merlin) to anyone other than Ford dealers. I was very nervous for someone else to work on Merlin. Clarke took excellent care of my Merlin! They did fantastic work for a fantastic price. They are now Merlin’s new mechanics!

Wonderful people! Mr Bob, his wife & son Matt are the best. Very kind, honest and caring family business who will let you know what you need and don’t need done. As a single gal new to the area and being absolutely clueless about anything car related I was not taken advantage of and feel comfortable coming back here every time.

I am really grateful to have found Clarke Automative Systems. They were courteous, quick, and professional. They gave me a ride to and from my work while my car was getting repaired. They did a thorough job with the repairs at an excellent price. It is rare to run across a company, let alone a mechanic shop, that operates with such high levels of ethics and integrity. I found my local mechanic and I’m very happy about it. I highly recommend them.

Decided to get an oil change here, and my car convo at Clarke reminds me of the mechanic convos in the Seinfeld episodes – the mechanic cares way more about your car than you do.
And that is saying a lot.
I drive a 2004 Toyota (approximately 181k miles), and at the rate I’m going, I probably have a good 5 years left.
Pride and care is taken at this local business. The standard oil change low prices is how Clarke automotive gives back to the community.
Will definitely be back for more extensive work.. .I would drive this Toyota until it’s an antique if I could, and believe me, Clarke automotive will help me get there.

I think more impressive than what Clark Automotive did for me, is what they didn’t do for me. What they did do, was call me with updates as they diagnosed and made repairs to my 21 year old Jeep Grand Cherokee (which has a bad transmission). They made recommended options for me and kept me in the loop for realistic expectations of how long I can expect my vehicle to last. What they didn’t do, was work on anything without my consent and they didn’t push me to spend the high ticket price for a new transmission overhaul. Bob recommended that I don’t spend more money on getting a new transmission put in, which would have been a huge chunk of money. Instead he advised that my wife and I start to think about saving a little extra each month to set aside for a new vehicle and run this current Jeep into the ground. We made a few improvements, and my Jeep runs way better than it did before. These guys are lifesavers. We live in St. Pete and will be happy to make the drive to Brandon to have them work on our vehicles. These guys are the best in the business and we won’t go anywhere else. Thanks Bob and Matt!

If you’re looking for an honest shop, you’ve found it here at Clark’s. These guys gave me the straight truth about the condition of my car, and I did manage to get myself driving a safe and dependable car. They were upfront with me about the thousands it would take for my prior car to run safely, and I’m so glad they were there to encourage me to get out of it. Since that experience with them, I’ve already let a handful of people know about their shop.

Bob Clarke is the antithesis of what everyone thinks of mechanics, and the amount of 5 star reviews on here prove this point in spades. I called inquiring about a tune-​up. Bob recommended I bring my car to him for a diagnostic check. He fixed what was needed and didn’t try to bamboozle me with extra bull. So refreshing! I would recommend this business to anyone around the Tampa/​Brandon area that is looking for a fair and well versed mechanic. Prices are excellent also.

As I have experienced on previous visits, they are professional, honest, and fast! I am so glad I finally. found a mechanic that I know won’t rip me off just to make a quick buck! I was quoted an amount and I paid the quoted price! Thank you for all your hard work!

I travel the SE and when I have truck problems, it’s just a shot-​in-​the-​dark of where to get it repaired. The Clarke people were so professional, & got me in and out promptly. Best shop in Tampa. Came in without an appointment on my lunch hour for some brake work.
They had me in and out in 30mins, only charged me for a partial hour (honest and fair). I’ll definitely be back.

I took my ’05 Acura TSX to Clarke Automotive and asked them to diagnose an oil leak. Fortunately, it was just the oil filter that had gotten loose and all they billed was for a oil change. This was quite a relief, as I was worried that I might have been facing a major repair bill.

I brought our 2007 Ford Mustang to Bob’s shop to remedy a number of squeaks. The car has more than 100,000 miles on it and had developed a number of squeaks and noises that where not going to go away on their own. The suspension problems were assessed and I approved Bob’s plan to replace several suspension parts. The work was completed in a timely fashion.
The car now rides like it did when new, no squeaks, no noises, We are really pleased with Clarke Automotive Services, he has my complete trust. I personally feel very comfortable being one of his clients.

The owner very patiently explained what needs to be done and what doesn’t need to be done! I would trust my car and my wife’s car here!

After living here for nearly a year, I’m happy to say that I’ve found my car shop! They’re honest, straightforward and do good work. That’s all I ask for from an auto shop but it’s seemingly harder to find.

It’s refreshing to find a garage that does what they promise, and get it done when they said they would. As an added bonus, Bob is a nice guy, and his prices are reasonable.

I refer all of my friends here. Mr. Clarke is very fair and knowledgeable. I’ve taken 2 different vehicles there, one of which was a lemon. I went in with the lemon for some service and an oil change. He called me later on to advise me to get rid of the truck as it was on its way out. He said he didn’t want to do the oil change as an indication of how bad of shape it was in. This speaks to his honesty and reputation. Over 30 years in the business. He stays busy so make appointments!

Very professional and very knowledgeable when it comes to auto repair. Clean and very organize shop. I will come back here for my future maintenance.

This place is amaZing!!! I can’t say enough good things about it. I got a quote from an auto body shop and the next day when I went in to get it fixed. They quoted me DOUBLE the price! THATS when I took it to Clarke’s and they took care of me right away. They are truly nice and honest people. They actually care about the customer and the car, they are not just trying to make a quick buck. I WOULD STRONGLY recommend going to Clarke’s for any problems you have with your car.

I was in the area, but when my plans changed, I decided I needed to stop procrastinating & get my oil changed. I looked up garages in the area & Clarke Automotive had the best reviewed so I decided to give it a shot.
I called to make an appointment & they were able to take me right away. When I arrived the guy at the front desk was very friendly & efficient. I filled out the paperwork & they took my vehicle to the back right away to start working.
The oil change took about 30 minutes & only cost me $ 24 including tax!
The owner and employees were knowledgeable and honest! I’d definitely come back here in the future. I really enjoyed this shop. If your car needs maintenance, big or small, come to Clarke’s!!!

They fix my car after it went off road during an accident and cause suspension and alignment issues. They work and kept me updated every step throw the repairs. They was friendly and always there to answer questions that i had. Explain clearly each item on the bill to me and work with me when I was having issues with the insurance paying and covering for the damage. A super business to use.
This is the third time i have used them and every time my car is repair right and at a fair price.
