I have to update this review. While I still love the bar staff, the draft beer always has a metallic taste to it. I was a regular here, 2 – 3 nights a week, for years and now I am in maybe once every 2 months. I hope that they clean their beer lines and every time I go in hoping they did it I am again disappointed. I will go anywhere else at the mall, even that stupid place with all the games, to get a good draft beer. Please 99, clean your beer lines regularly and I will be right back.

I have been craving prime rib for so long! I know this isn’t steakhouse quality prime rib, but still a great price imo. So I made sure I came to 99 on 5⁄12 for their Thurs-Sun prime rib deal. I walked in and Megan ended up seating me as well as being my server. She was so great and answered my random questions. She was extremely nice, accommodating, and friendly. She was fast, courteous, and did everything right as a server. Even though she was the server for multiple other surrounding tables, I never felt slighted or ignored. She gave proper attention to all tables and diners, making sure everyone had what they wanted. She really deserves a big pay raise for her hard work and dedication. I really hope to return to this location in the future and that she will be my server. It’s rare to have a great server in a restaurant anymore nowadays, she gave me hope! If Megan sees this, Thanks Megan! :) Back to the meal lol, I made the prime rib deal into a 3 course meal. So seafood chowder, the 12 oz prime rib with mash and corn, and the peanut butter brownie petite treat. And the frozen lemonade for a drink… I did say yes to having some popcorn, which as I remembered from past 99 visits, the popcorn is pretty basic and nothing special lol. Really, if they wanted to make the popcorn better, they should offer other seasonings to go with it or spruce it up *somehow*. I didn’t eat much of it. The seafood chowder however has vastly improved I think, I remember getting it years ago and it was different back then and I regretted it. But this time, it tasted GOOD. Used to be that I would get clam chowder from another restaurant every time, but since theirs now tasted horrible when I had it weeks ago, the 99’s seafood chowder has become my new go-to, that’s how much I personally loved it lol. The prime rib I got had the texture I love about prime rib lol, so I was glad to finally check off my prime rib craving. The mash was averagely decent and the corn is my fave veg so it was a much better choice than other sides I didn’t care for. The peanut butter brownie petite treat is very much petite lol but fitting for me since I was pretty full by that point so overall, I was satisfied with my meal.

The Braintree 99 restaurant is really just ok. For this large shopping zone, there are many other spots within the mall complex that are much better than this. So this 99 is location in a mini shopping area outside of the South Shore Plaza in Braintree, next to a furniture store on South Shore Plaza Road(by that annoying 4-way stop). It isn’t a very attractive building, and could use a considerate update on the exterior, like the Walpole 99 got a month or two ago. The interior is very quaint, and just like the rest of the 99 locations, and preferable to other chains like Applebee’s. Service was a bit slow, and Gina wasn’t nearly as friendly as any normal employee should be, and just not making my experience any better, rather not as great. Order was quick, burgers were just the same as the other locations(and made-to-order) and the restaurant was very clean and not busy. Parking is ample in the side lot, and probably one of the quickest places to park at in the mall complex. Not my favorite location and not of the best restaurants out of the 20 or more within 100 feet(in the mall), but fine in a pinch. I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit this location… they have a good amount of work until this will ever be a 5 star restaurant. 4 stars.

I decided to try a different 99 location when the kids wanted 99 for dinner, so we came to this location. The host was friendly, but that’s where it ends. Our waitress was too no nonsense and curt with us and with the restaurant being kid friendly I would have expected a friendlier experience. She was chatty with the table that didn’t have kids but when it came to ours it was a 180. My kids aren’t angels, but they aren’t brats and are always chatty and friendly to servers at other restaurants. So service I give a 1 star. They now offer a new menu and the food is as it usually is — the standard OK. The food deserves 2.5 stars. We won’t come back to this location again. I’d rather take them to the Red Robin inside the mall for similar food and better service.

Went in tonight for the first time in about a year. The crowd at the bar was a mix of depressed looking individuals and even more depressed looking individuals. Seriously, I don’t think anyone in the place cracked a smile once. I felt like I was in some depressing dive bar filled with alcoholics. I ordered a wine, which was great except for the clearly dirty glass it was served in. The bruschetta pizza should be called«tons of balsamic glaze on bread» because that’s basically what it is. The bartender seemed overwhelmed by the 8 – 10 people at the bar. I probably won’t be back for a while, if at all. I haven’t felt that uncomfortable at a bar in a while. The atmosphere was more off putting than anything else.

99 problems and a b#%## is one. Buddies and I gave this waiter a 28% tip. Bill was $ 102 left $ 130. Dumb h## came back to hit on one of my buddies, he ended up giving her an extra $ 20 for being so kind. Extremely unprofessional Shaniqua(her actual name).

I went to 99 Restaurant & Pub at different locations and like their foods and services. However, I was very disappointed with this one last night. The bartender was not polite and professional. After she brought us drinks and taking our order, she just ignored us and never came back. No popcorn, napkins or silverware. After waiting for a while, I had to wave her back for the popcorn. Later, another waitress came and started to serve us. She was much better, nice and professional. I guessed that the previous waitress might be in the bad mood and hope that this won’t happen to other clients in the future if the store manager read this review and make some changes. The foods were not very good with much smaller portion than the other locations. It was Saturday night, but there were no so many customers and the business was very slow. In general, I like 99 and I will continue to eat at 99.

I forget there is a 99 at South Shore Plaza. It’s in a separate building opposite the Target/Nordstrom parking along with Tokyo Steakhouse. I just had dinner with colleagues, and we all through it was much saner and more pleasant than trying to brave the more prominent chains. Our server Theresa was pleasant and patient and our food and drinks were good. We’ll definitely be going back.

The wait time and the server made up for the lack of food quality. I had a seafood combo a little before rush hour started. We were seated quickly and in a good spot, music level was right and the seats were comfortable. Being an ex restaurant employee I can kind of tell the difference between frozen and fresh. This was all frozen, or at least it tasted that way. Now I’m not expecting the highest quality foods when going to a chain pub, but the clam was just mush with no flavor. The fish also was flavorless and lukewarm in the dead center. The drinks were good and the price of the food was a little high for how poor quality they came out. Would not go here again when there is a Cheesecake Factory minutes walking from this location. As well as many other restaurants.

The staff was very friendly. My golden brown chicken tenders were delicious. It was complemented by my yummy french fries. The atmosphere is casual, not overly noisy. My partner liked his garden salad. Located in Braintree across from the Target side of the South Shore Plaza.

Food was good. Mixed feelings about the service. The girl at the bar was more into talking to people(maybe the regulars), then seeing if we needed anything. But there were two men who were polite and helpful. Then there were 3 people at the front door talking to each other and could have cared less to notice us leaving, so I told them to have a nice day instead. I didn’t feel welcome here due to the people who obviously get paid to socialize. There’s too many other places to eat that appreciate having customers for me to bother returning to this Braintree location.

I like this 99 location and call it the«secret 99» because most people don’t realize it’s there near the South Shore Plaza. There usually isn’t a wait for a table when I arrive for dinner(so don’t swarm there and ruin this for me now). The food is tasty & the prices reasonable. When I have a coupon for a free appetizer — I get the delicious potato skins. My favorite salad there is the tropical chicken. Steaks are good there too — but they tend to drown veggies in so much butter they become inedible, so don’t order a veggi side for health reasons. Why do you drown carrots in butter 99?!

I came here on the day of a blizzard, so it was pretty empty. The host and waitresses were sitting in booths, eating, and waiting for customers. At first glance, it looks unprofessional, but then you kind of have to understand where they are coming from. Our waitress was really nice, but super awkward. You could tell she was trying hard to give us the best service as possible, but it seemed force. Anyways, she was really accommodating when asking if we can substitute for this and that. We got our food and I was underwhelmed. Everything was just so mediocre. Potato Skins They were extremely bland, even with the melted cheddar cheese and bacon bits. I had to add a lot of sour cream to make it at least decent tasting. The pieces were big and really hard to eat. I could barely finish one and there were six pieces. I don’t recommend ordering this. Flatbread The flatbread literally tasted like it came out of a lunchables. The flatbread was not crispy. There was barely any cheese. If there were, it wasn’t even gooey. It just fell off the bread like plastic. The balsamic sauce was yummy though. I wish there were more of it. It was a super light drizzle. I don’t recommend ordering this either. Sliced Sirloin Don’t be fooled with the picture!!! I was shocked to see how small of a portion it was. The steak was very dry and I had to drench it in the sauce that they gave me for more flavor. I mean, I guess I shouldn’t expect so much from a chain restaurant. Perhaps I ordered the wrong things, but I wouldn’t come here again. I’d rather go to Cheesecake Factory.

Went here a few times. Nothing different from apple bees. Pretty fast food style. Its convenient and the staff is easy going so its a friendly casual atmosphere. The server was really nice and actually patient with us. She totally didn’t glare us down for not making a quick decision the moment we sat down or anything . The menu had quite a selection, however the larger portion of the menu is all about steak and burgers. A few several pages of it so I found it difficult to actually decide. Eventually, I went one of the deals that were currently on promotion. I got the macadamia crusted chicken. And I have to say it was really good. My chicken was extremely moist while the crust was really crispy. It wasn’t drowned in the sauce which made it really appealing. The rice that it came with was pretty grain and actually quite salty. The bubble green tea doesn’t taste like green tea but mango popping bubbles in peach lemonade. Its on the sweeter side so for those with a sweet tooth, you should enjoy. Overall okay. Im neutral. Its not on the top of my list on come back toos, but definitely a change for whenever you can decide what to eat.

Good service and good food, BUTTTT they changed their pub cheese and food distributors and it’s not the same — it’s worst!!! I want the old pub cheese back folks!!! Also — they were running some kind of trivia at the bar tonight(weds eve), and there seemed to be a lot of regular/locals really enjoying it and having fun. Great night!!!

It seems so strange to write a review on such a big chain restaurant, but, here I am! Yesterday, Superbowl Sunday, we were feeling a little down since our team the Patriots weren’t playing, so we headed to 99 for some lunch, beer, and Celtics watching. We went around 3, and it was really quiet. A big group of friends were at the bar(where we sat), but they were very mild mannered. There was one bartender serving all of us, and he did a great job. He was very attentive and even asked me how my dessert was. I said«GREAT!» with a mouth full of apple crisp. How kind! The boyfriend ordered an XL plate of buffalo chicken tenders. It was indeed a big serving! Probably perfect to share between two people. I ate his celery and blue cheese. It’s nice he shares. I ordered country fried chicken. I’ve never noticed it on the menu, and it’s not something I would usually get, but I was SOSURPRISED at how good it was! The chicken, two pieces, was thin and really crispy with great breading. It came with mashed potatoes, perfectly seasoned, broccoli(which I’m pretty sure was steamed fresh, not heated from frozen), cranberry sauce, and covered in a really tasty gravy. It filled me up, and I was able to eat the other half for lunch the next day(it re-heated beautifully). I also had apple crisp for dessert. It was very yummy, the apples were not total mush. The topping had nuts in it, which if you don’t like nuts, don’t get it. It was the perfect temp, nice and hot, and was a pretty good sized portion(I couldn’t finish it after eating all that food). We had beer and strawberry lemonade, both good!
