History
Established in 2012.
The story of West Flanders starts on Pearl Street in 1996. The Heinritz brothers, Mark and Chris, along with their partners opened Red Fish, a New Orleans inspired brewpub. Red Fish was a success and became a local favorite and industry leader and trendsetter in combining food and beer. The success of Red Fish can largely be attributed to the creativity of brewmaster Brian Lutz. His flavor profiles and marquee beers were well beyond the palette of the average 1996 craft beer drinker. In 1997 the ownership of Redfish New Orleans Brewhouse changed. West Flanders is the fulfillment of 16 years of dreaming and planning to build a brewpub that celebrates both community and beer. The world, as beer drinkers, has also evolved for the past 16 years after that first batch of Angry Monk. Now the craft beer community is finally ready for dynamics and intrigue of Brian Lutz’s brewing creativity. To quote Brian, «make sure your seat belt is buckled because we are about to go on one hell of a ride!»

Mark H. says,
«Our sister restaurant is a 90+ year Boulder institution. Great burgers and pizza from a scratch kitchen. One of the last bastions of „old Boulder“.»
