I stopped by their booth at the Band On The Bricks this week and entered their drawing for«free» windows($ 15000 value). I briefly spoke with the salesman and mentioned that I had received a few quotes for new windows, but had decided that I wasn’t going to replace them at this time. Early this morning I receive a sales call asking all kinds of irrelevant questions such as, marital status, etc…(similar experience to the review written by Kerry M.). Then the salesman, proceeded to tell me that if I didn’t let them come out for a free sales consultation, that I wouldn’t qualify for the drawing. At first I declined politely, but as he continued to push me for more information and became more aggressive each time I would decline, I finally had to ask him to remove me from his sales call list and had to hang up. Of the three window companies I interviewed and received estimates with, Andersen was the only one I had such an off-putting experience with!

I read these reviews now and then… and have only written one myself. I feel compelled to write this one after such a bad experience. I stopped by their booth at the Boulder Boulder event. I signed up to have an estimate of my older home’s windows. They called to confirm the appointment, and I made a comment about«we» don’t know exactly how many windows will be replaced. The gal on the phone said«we?». «Are you married? What does your husband do? He will need to be there for the appointment». WHAT? I told her this was just an estimate and I am perfectly capable of making a decision on my own. She said«we don’t want to waste anyone’s time… but we don’t want to have to make a second trip out».Clearly concerned about THEIR time — not mine. I told her that we are both busy working professionals and that we should keep the appointment. She said a few times«I don’t want to insult you…» — which she clearly was doing. I make more money than my husband, by the way, and don’t need a man there to make a «big» decision. She said he had to be there or she would cancel the appointment. I was polite but firm and told her that it was her decision if she chose to cancel the appointment. That is what she did. Does Anderson Windows think this is 1950 and I woman can’t make a financial decision on her own? Yes, damn, I was insulted and will never use them. Women… stand up and walk away from these backward people.

Dean and Justin are the best there is. They installed 15 windows in my house and made the week a great deal of fun. They cleaned up after themselves, planned the installation with the customer in mind, and were especially kind to the cats and dogs that were displaced by the project. I have worked with contractors, handymen, and repair personnel for four decades, and I have never found any two people as wonderful as Dean and Justin.
