Out-U-Go!

I’m not one of those pet parents that over-​indulges, under-​disciplines, and sees my animals as little humanoids. That being said, I do believe taking on the responsibility to love and care for an animal means committing the time and resources necessary to ensure that the little furball is super happy since it didn’t have a choice in the matter.
Enter Out-​U-​Go! When I adopted my puppy I knew two things for sure: 1– She was going to be crated when I was away from the house for her safety and the safety of my house. 2– She was going to need some attention and love while I worked. So I set out in search of a pet sitter. I asked my fabulous veterinarian (see my review of Boulder’s Natural Animal Hospital) for a referral and it just so happens that they’re partners of sorts with Out-​U-​Go! Boulder.
The process of establishing a client relationship and getting started on visits with Out-​U-​Go! couldn’t have been easier. And it’s just gotten better from there. The staff keep detailed notes on all my neurotic instructions for my pup’s feeding, favorite activities, rules, training, and anything else I can think of. And the sitters actually read and follow them. Every time they visit they leave me a journal entry on a reusable dry erase note board that they supplied, telling me what transpired during their visit and why they think my pup is so cute and adorable. A sitter comes to visit my pup 3 – 4 times a week and the Out-​U-​Go! staff has been very accommodating with my scheduling requests, which can vary week to week depending on my schedule. The sitters are always respectful of my home and I never find things in disarray.
I’ve been working with Out-​U-​Go! now for about 6 months and so far every experience has been fantastic. No complaints to report.

I really can’t say enough about how great the OutUGo crew is. Having a dog with separation anxiety means that I always used to worry when I would leave her alone. Not any more. She loves her visits from OutUGo!
It is super easy to schedule and they are always so accomodating. I have dealt with lots of different pet sitters and walkers and no one compares to OutUGo, I will never use anyone else!

I virtually never have an experience that I rave about but I was extremely impressed with the professional service provided by out you go. I really appreciated the notes the cat sitter left for me; they gave me an indication of how much interaction they gave my cat. Heather came by to review our situation and she took notes on maintenance, play time and feeding requests and I knew by my cat’s behavior when I got home that the sitter had been very attentive and that she followed through on those requests. Next time I am away, I will use Out You Go and will feel relief upon leaving my pet.

Our cats seem to enjoy the visits and I like being able to count on Out-​U-​Go even at the last minute.

When I lived in Los Angeles, my 2 year old German Shepherd always stayed with my parents whenever I traveled. I moved to Boulder almost a year ago, and while my boyfriend has been so sweet in caring for my dog when I’m away, he isn’t always in town either.
A couple weeks ago, I found myself in a bind — I needed to be away for the weekend and there was no one to take care of my pup. He is leash reactive and gets very stressed around strange dogs so kenneling him wasn’t really an option. So, when I wasn’t busy panicking, I spent my time researching pet sitters.
I spoke with a couple on the phone (and even met with one face-​to-​face), but none of them inspired confidence that they’d be able to take good care of my dog. Out-​U-​Go was a totally different story.
I spoke with Heather on the phone, and even though it was incredibly short notice (I was booking on Tuesday for a weekend house-​sit) she told me she had a sitter available. She sent me two very long forms to fill out — questions about my dog’s eating and sleeping habits, what door the sitter should use to enter my home, what my dog’s favorite toy was, etc — that allowed me to get all my thoughts and concerns out on paper. We then met at my home so that she could see my house and meet my dog (basically «vet» me as a client, I suppose!) Finally, I met with Claire, the woman who would actually be house/​pet sitting for me over the weekend. She was incredibly friendly and seemed genuinely to love both her job and my dog.
Over the weekend that I was away, Claire sent me text updates. She responded quickly to texts I sent her asking how things were going, and I never once felt that my dog wasn’t in good hands. When I returned home, there was a «exit» form filled out on my table detailing my dog’s disposition during the stay as well as any other notable details.
I am so pleased that I now have another option for when I need to leave town (or when I need to be away for long stretches during the day — they do dog walking too!). While their services aren’t cheap, I will absolutely recommend Out-​U-​Go to anyone who needs care for their pup.

My little boy is spoiled. Wait a sec, make that SPOILED. So when a I was hit with a biz trip, I had no clue what to do. A bunch of research, phone calls, and a meeting with OutuGo and I’d found my solution. I left feeling totally confident they’d give him the same care I do and spent my two out-​of-​town days without the slightest worry. While away I got a couple of texts from his sitter to let me know he was doing well — and even a pic! I came home to find a totally happy puppy and a detailed report of how he’d done through my trip. I’ve got another trip coming up in a month and I feel so great about OutuGo, I may even add a couple of days to the biz trip for fun — that’s saying a lot! Got a trip? Go OutuGo!

We travel a bunch. A good dog sitter is important to us. Our dogs are pretty spoiled. After having a few bad experiences with other pet sitting services we called Dan at Out U Go.
I am not sure if our dogs even CARE when we leave town anymore. Dan and his folks are great! Flexible, prompt service. Attention to detail. Professional from start to finish. These folks really seem to enjoy what they do. Highly recommended!

When I moved to Colorado from California, I was faced with the task of finding someone to care for my two cats and bird while I was gone on occasional vacations. It was very hard for me to trust the care of my animals to anyone other than family. After some research, I called «Out-​U-​Go» and I definitely made the right decision. Dan came to my home and learned all about me and my furry family members, and took extensive notes.
I felt so comfortable when I left to go out of town and really enjoyed reading the little report-​cards that were left each day. When I needed to schedule another visit, it was so easy and convenient! Out-​U-​Go has provided me with a lot of peace of mind when I have to leave the animals at home and I will definitely use their services in the future.
