Dr. Kirk Rathburn is accomplished in many facets of dentistry including periodontal surgery, dental implants and more. Our business was established in 1989 and we have been in our present location since 1993.

Dr. Kirk Rathburn was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado and received his undergraduate degree in microbiology from Colorado State University and his dental degree from Creighton University. In 1988 – 89, Dr. Rathburn attended a hospital based General Practice Residency (GPR) at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry, and has served as a clinical and didactic instructor there since 1992.

Dr. Rathburn believes in a conservative diagnosis and offers patients the opportunity to be involved in their treatment planning process. Because he understands that some patients fear dental work, he offers IV sedation treatment to help make patients more comfortable during treatment. Dr. Rathburn is committed to providing all of the information necessary to help you make an informed decision about your dental health.

I’ve been a client of Dr. Rathburn’s for 20 years. His care is top notch and his staff is very talented, friendly and very professional. With regular treatments performed by Kirk and Anne (dental hygienist), a good diet, «decent» oral care and regular exercise I’ve been able to avoid all major interventions. My chompers are in great health thanks to them!

Dr. Rathburn is great! He has a beautiful modern office with helpful, friendly staff and his service as a dentist has always been gracious and patient with outstanding quality. He has been my dentist since 1996 and has helped me with childhood poorly done root canals and corrective issues over the years. His hygienist staff is top notch and I can’t imagine going any where else.

I can’t recommend Dr Rathurn enough. He was our dentist for as long as we lived within driving distance of his office. Not only was he very courteous and professional in routine visits, he was great at the larger procedures we needed.
I was always unhappy with a fix my childhood dentist did on my broken front tooth and Dr Rathburn created a new tooth that makes me feel good about smiling again.
My hygienist, Ann, at his office was wonderful. She was so gentle on my mouth that I never left with a sore mouth ever.
My husband, two daughters, and mom also go/​went to Dr Rathburn and are very happy with his services as well.
All the staff at his office are very thorough, professional and very nice.
The office is clean and they always got me in on time.

I have never been so well-​cared-​for by a dentist and his staff. Dr. Rathburn is exceptionally good at what he does, and he seems to take great pride in his work. I’d say he’s a dental artist.
Dr. Rathburn’s office uses modern technology including CT scans of the jaw, digital photos of your teeth, and local and general anesthesia. His staff is knowledgeable and unfailingly helpful.
That said, Dr. Rathburn’s office is «out-​of-​network,» so your insurance will cover some of the cost, but usually not all of it. If you don’t have dental insurance, you’ll pay the full cost out of pocket, which can add up quickly. Most insurance will pay for a «covered amount,» but Dr. Rathburn often charges much more than that, double in some cases. Despite the cost, I’ve decided I’ll stick with him because his work is so good.
