Fred Crowe is the owner of Fresh Coat Boulder. Originally from Northern Ireland, Fred has many years of business experience and prides himself in the quality of work done by his painters.

Fred is married with 2 teenage children one who will attend CU in the Fall of 2104 and the other who will be a senior at Fairview High School in the Fall of 2014.

Fred C. did finally follow up with me. Very nice guy and does try to help the customer out if there are complaints. I guess the former project manager was let go. They did replace my door bell and picked up the tools left behind. Fred also got me a quart of paint for any remaining trim areas that might need a second coat.
They did repaint the side of my house that needed a touch-up. Seemed like the new guy he used rushed it again. There’s still tape on my gutter where the new painter covered it up before painting and there was plenty of paint left over that could have been used to make for a smooth even semi-glossy coat.
Not sure why he can’t can’t get consistent workers.
Ultimately, I’d choose another company. Oh well.

I wish I had seen the previous review before I hired these guys. Poor David (painter) was left alone to do the work of three guys, thus extending our project well past the agreed upon timeframe. If they’re so busy/business is so good, they shouldn’t book the jobs they can’t complete. The job was finished but the ‘texture matching’ to our walls failed miserably, and 6 months later, paint and plaster are falling off from their patchwork and new build work. Not sure if they background check these guys, but there were some hella creeper people that showed up to work, and we kept getting passed along to different ‘project managers’ every time someone quit or had to ‘go see about an emergency’ on another job. Disorganized, not communicative, and then over budget when all is said and done. Will NEVER work with them again.

I’ve found the overall experience with this business to be considerably disappointing, primarily from a customer service/communication perspective. The length of time it took to complete my exterior house painting project took 6 weeks! Not the 7 – 10 days I was told upfront. Yes, there were a few days of rain — 9 to be exact (out of 42). Of the 9, the rain occurred during late afternoon or evening, thus still leaving at least 7 – 8 hours of viable work-time per day.
There were some positives: John Pandolfi (Manager) and David Singer (Painter) were fantastic. John’s attention to detail and abundant customer service were top notch! David was brought in towards the end to finish my project and clean up the numerous errors left by the other painters. His work is impeccable, and if you choose to hire this company, INSIST you get David on your project. Frankly I’m stunned Fred is able to keep these two on staff considering he has them flying all over the front range at last minute’s notice, on a daily basis.
From my experience, the scheduling of the painters is «fly by the seat of Fred’s pants», and changes constantly. Furthermore, the customer is almost NEVER notified. IF John is actually told of the changes, then you will always be informed, but usually John is learning of the changes about the same time the customer is — i.e., when no one shows up.
I can’t in good faith recommend this business for your big painting projects, unless you have endless time and patience.
