Dr. Bollenbacher & Associates

I have been going to Dr. Bollenbacher for about 4 years now and I have never had an experience that was less than perfect. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable and they go out of their way to help their patients. He always gives a good prescription and offers good options that suit the individual’s needs (He does not just suggest the most expensive product like many others would and makes sure the option works and fits for you) If you run into problems with your contacts in the future or feel that your vision has worsened, he is quick to help fix your prescription and help you get perfect vision. Lastly, every time I go in there (even days when I did not call or have an appointment) He remembers me perfectly and is more than happy to answer my questions. I love coming here and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

My family has been using Dr. Bollenbacher at Aspen Eyewear for as long as he’s been there. We used the previous eye doc at Aspen prior to him too. When I was in my late 30s, I began to notice my vision was getting worse. I had never needed glasses before, but I was getting headaches, and was having trouble reading small print everywhere. I had gone back to college to update some of my work skills, so I was spending a lot more time on computers, and reading in general. These were the impetus for needing reading glasses originally, that and just plain old aging. I began by using ready-​to-​wear glasses, but after a couple of years, I found they just weren’t cutting it for me.
Being a Costco member, I first tried using the woman eye doctor there, but the prescription she gave me was so wrong I nearly had a car wreak in the parking lot after getting them filled. I had to take them off to drive back to Boulder. I decided to go to Dr. B. immediately after leaving Costco and discovered the difference a good eye doc can make. I haven’t gone anywhere else since then.
Through careful examination, Dr. B. found my vision was worse in one eye, which was why the ready-​to-​wear glasses weren’t working for me, and the prescription the doc at Costco had given me was way too strong as well. Getting the correct prescription made all the difference. No more headaches. The ability to read without discomfort was wonderful.
Having Dr. B.‘s office right inside Aspen Eyewear is also a blessing. I have never had to wait very long once I come in. The people who work there, and in store, are all very nice. I really like that if I need new frames, Aspen has the best selection in Boulder. They know me by name there, as I have bought many frames there in the past 20 years. Even if I find frames I want elsewhere, I bring them to Aspen to do the lenses.
Dr. B. took care of both my kids as well. My oldest has needed classes for 20 years too (she inherited her father’s myopia). We would be in the doc’s office 3 times a year for her alone. We bought her glasses and contacts there as well. Eventually, we also ordered her contacts online, but generally we had to buy at least one box from Dr. B. and honestly, his prices weren’t that much higher than the online sites. And as I said before, Aspen has some of the best frames to choose from around. I also like that Aspen stands behind their frames.
Getting an appointment with Dr. B. can be challenging, but he’s very worth it.

Dr. Bollenbacher is great. I started first with my own appointment and he set me up with a great pair of glasses. I wasn’t 100% sure the prescription was right so he had me come back in and he did make an adjustment. No charge and then they were perfect. Then I brought my husband, then my daughter. Next i sent my best friend in and he diagnosed a problem she had had for 20 years that no one else could detect. So not only is he a great guy, but he’s a great diagnostician. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I was looking for an optometrist to give me a script for my glasses because I needed a new pair of glasses this January when the lens popped out of my old frames and these glasses were almost 2 years old. So yeah, I needed a new script and I was told the appointment for my script would be $ 85. That’s not too bad for Boulder, so I decided to make an appointment.
When it came time for my appointment, I did not have to wait too terribly long. The optometrist gave me the option of whether or not I wanted dilation or not. Since I had class later on, I decided to opt against it. She also did a glaucoma test at no additional charge.
I am only giving her four out of five stars because of the fact that she made my script only valid for one year. Not cool.
