History

Established in 1989.

Details Design Studio was established by Barbee James in 1989. James had the vision of a creative, collaborative space where designers could implement their ideas for different individual’s spaces to create sanctuaries. Details Design Studio is now the only 100% ‘green’ interior design studio in Boulder County, Colorado.

Business Owner

Barbee James has been the owner/​chief designer at Details Design Studio in Boulder, Colorado for over 20 years. She has earned degrees in both Sociology and Interior Design. For Barbee, interior design is a profession where her passion for helping individuals and her innate creative talents are able to come together. Barbee believes in designing a space that is custom-​suited for the individual personalities and lifestyles of all her clients. She believes that well designed spaces are those that let the soul shine through, and makes a point to blend this concept into each and every one of her interior-​designs. Along with her love for people and design, the well-​being of our environment is another one of Barbee’s passions. She works especially hard to incorporate ‘green’ design aspects, where possible, into all of her projects.
