College Student Storage

I have sent 3 children to UC Boulder over the past 7 years and we have used College Student Storage each time. I have found Michael and his crew to provide exceptional service each and every time. They communicate clearly and promptly, and have been able to make adjustments when plans have changed last minute. We have never had a problem with breakage or missing items. My kids have recommended CSS to all their friends, with the same results. I

This was probably the best moving experience I’ve had, so simple and straight forward. The guys dropped off boxes, picked them up days later along with my suitcases and furniture, stored everything for twice as long as I expected and set all my furniture up in my new place when I finally was ready to move in (I changed my move in date 3 times!)
I really think the team that moved me in went above and beyond, re-​assembling my bed frame, which was such a relief since I would not have been able to do it myself. Also on the move out end, when I was trying to leave for my internship I learned it was going to cost me a fortune to check my bag on my economy airline.
They brought in an extra box, had me write my internship address on it, we stuffed my intended checked luggage in this huge box, and they shipped it for me for half the price to check it. The best part was since I stayed with a friend one night on my way to the internship location the box arrived the same day I did with no hassle whatsoever! I am so grateful for this wonderful team of guys who made me feel important and well taken care of, thank you Colorado Student Storage, your movers, shipping and storage programs can’t be beat!

We used CSS when my son moved out of the dorms at CU and came home for the summer. They had convenient pick up and drop off locations near his dorm and all of his boxes were waiting for him at his fraternity the day he returned to school in August. It was super affordable and a great service for those who live out of state and don’t know where to store stuff for the summer. Now we have signed my daughter up for the same service. We couldn’t be happier with their service and prices!

I’ve used CSS probably five times throughout my time in Boulder and every time has been a great experience. The guys always show up on time, are super efficient, and respectful. They made this stressful process very simple and I really appreciate it

This was the WORST moving experience and I highly advise anyone looking for storage/​moving in the Boulder or Fort Collins area to STAY AWAY! I used CSS in August of 2015 to pick up my items from one apartment, store them for two weeks, and drop them off at a different apartment close by. The pick up staff was very kind and was able to move all my items (including heavy couch, bed, dresser, and several boxes) efficiently and easily. Good start so far. Then, something came up that conflicted with my expected drop off time that I had to leave town for, so I called CSS with several days notice and requested to reschedule my drop off time for the following day. I was told that would be no problem, however that message clearly never went beyond that phone call because sure enough, all my belongings were dropped off on the original day– the day that I told them I wasn’t going to be there. They left all my items on my porch. As you can imagine, when I came home to my new apartment to find my snowboard and my bed and couch and boxes full of irreplaceable books, pictures, and family heirlooms left out on the porch, I was HEATED. CSS had charged over $ 700 for this 2 week service and they didn’t even finish the job. First thing I did was call the company and ask to speak to the manager/​owner, Michael, who was callous and rude and did not see an issue with leaving everything I owned outside, at the risk of being stolen or damaged. He refused to take ownership over the problem and did not even apologize! Finally, he reluctantly sent over a second team of movers to finish their service, and they couldn’t even get my couch up the stairs. When they tried the first time, they created 4 huge holes in the walls on my stairwell of my brand new apartment! Then, I had to call my neighbor to come offer a hand because the movers literally had the couch stuck in the stairwell and physically couldn’t move it. With the help of my neighbor, they finally moved all my stuff inside and instructed me to give Michael a call as he would send someone from his repair team over to fix the holes ASAP. Lo and behold, five months and countless unreturned emails, phone calls, no one has come to fix it, apologize about it, or even recognize it as an issue. I even got my dad to call and send numerous emails because I thought Michael may be trying to take advantage of me because I’m a young, female college student. He managed to show my father the same disrespect by not returning a single email or phone call. I understand that the movers are simply college students themselves trying to make an extra buck before the school year starts, and I don’t see them as the issue despite them creating the holes in the wall. It is evident the problem here is Michael and his lack of knowledge in business management, and I would hate for him to continue taking advantage of and capitalizing off trusting college students.

If they loose something you can kiss it good-​bye. There are no amount of phone calls that you can make that will resolve this. They stop calling you back after the first phone call.
The owner will manage to blame you that they lost your items.
The only ray of sunshine in this entire process was the delivery staff, they work hard, tip them well.

I used this service this summer to store and move my items. When they brought my boxes, they had me sign a waiver saying I had received all of my items. I realized as I was unpacking that they had lost my queen size bed comforter that I had just bought for about $ 200. They also had not let informed me that they would store or move dry food. I had left all of my food with them and they threw it all away without any warning. They also had not brought me my longboard. After calling and emailing them many times, they had brought it weeks later and left it outside my door where anyone could have stolen it. Since I had trusted them and signed the waiver before opening my boxes, they were legally off the hook for all the items they had lost. My coffee table was broken and they had told me that it was broken before they moved it — very untrue.

Friendly staff but unprofessional. They broke an item of furniture and never once apologized — instead they blamed the furniture itself. Just got my items back today and a few items are in worse condition that when it was moved out. I was also quoted $ 500 for moving my things out, storing them for the summer and moving them back in to a new place and it ended up being more than $ 1,000.

Had a very bad experience here, the owner was extremely verbally abusive to me. We had some misunderstandings re what was to be moved from house to storage but rather than calling to figure out and straighten out, he just charged my credit card and referred to it as a «f*** up fee»! (It’s on my receipt!) So unprofessional and disappointing. Avoid this place, there are other options in Boulder.

This place deserves more than 5 stars. They go above and beyond to make moving convenient and affordable for college students, especially those out of state. When I moved out of the dorms they had plenty of locations nearby to drop off your boxes, which they dropped off earlier. They will come to your dorm with you and bring the boxes to the truck for you, taking good care of skis and fragile things. When I moved into my sorority in the fall, all of my things were safely inside when I got there. I’m about to use them again in August for a couple weeks between leases, with a big discount just for being a returning customer, they have some awesome deals.

Very speedy, incredibly nice boys working the job. Was able to work with them stress free and would highly recommend this company for anyone looking to store or move their stuff!

Very poorly organized. Friendly staff, but they were 2 hours late to pick up my things at the end of the school year, and around 5 hours late to drop it off again in the fall. Not horrible issues, but very inconvenient and frustrating.
