Briar Rose Bed and Breakfast

Lovely B&B with a fully vegetarian home-​made breakfast, cheerful staff and daily morning meditation. Our room was in the cottage, not the main house, just above the meditation room. It was cozy and had a newly renovated bathroom with high end fixtures and a nice walk in shower.
The best part about staying here are the personal attention, the incredible selection of lose leaf herbal teas and the breakfast that is served community style in the living room. It feels like you’re eating at a friend’s house. We had some delicious fresh gluten-​free muffins. Pancakes looked fluffy and delicious, too bad I couldn’t have them because they weren’t gluten-​free. Instead, they made me some scrambled eggs with veggies and GF toast. It felt very special and made with love.
Free parking on property, and you’re about a 20 minute walk from Pearl Street shopping. I would stay here again, no question.

Wonderful B&B in the heart of Boulder. The inn is very sweet and nicely decorated, bed was super comfy, and the staff were great. They have a huge selection of high quality teas to choose from and the coffee was very good too.

The Briar Rose is a hidden treasure! It is close to shopping and restaurants, and an easy location as a center point for sightseeing, hiking and biking. The staff is very accommodating, efficient and informative. The rooms are clean and cozy. They have wonderful breakfasts and cater to dietary needs and restrictions. We loved our stay here and highly recommend Brar Rose.

We were so pleased with our stay at Briar Rose. The staff was wonderful and accommodating! The tea and coffee were so good and the breakfasts were filling and wonderful. We especially loved the vanilla yogurt with granola! Our room, Teakettle, was small but comfortable and we had a back door that lead to the rear parking area which was so convenient. Breakfast in the sunroom was so nice. Will be back!

This is the best place to stay in Boulder … We have very high expectations when we go on vacation and this amazing bed and breakfast is the most lux and relaxing place we have been… The whole place is beautiful and the folks who run the establishment are practicing Buddhists so that gives briar rose a very welcoming atmosphere. We stayed in the Huron room and the bed was soft with fluffy pillows… We had a private balcony over looking the courtyard, which was beautifully landscaped, we had tea service and some meals there and it was wonderful … Our room had a private jacuzzi which was a great relaxing extra for us. If you love classy and environmentally friendly you have to stay here !!!

Came here with my CU Boulder student. Comfortable room, very attentive staff and delicious breakfast. We enjoyed having tea after running around Boulder all day. The selection and presentation of teas are wonderful. I will be back!

What a delightful find! I stumbled across the Briar Rose and loved every minute of my stay. The selection of teas, the homemade cookies and breads, the zen room, my room, my tub, my separate entrance, my duthe hospitality, everything made my stay in Boulder most enjoyable. 5 stars all the way!!!

LOVED this place. Excellent tea selecting and service with a great location to the university and shopping. We had good parking and enjoyed our quaint and cozy room. I sort of felt they were stingy with breakfast, it was like the owners told the service staff to be sure not to waste ANYTHING, which I agree with, but at the same time a satiating breakfast is important to begin a full day of exploring. There were cookies and breads out all day, which sort of makes up for that. I also wish where was non dairy creamer for my coffee, which a place like this (Zen focused) should have… They did have soy milk, but for coffee that doesn’t cut it!
In any event, I would definitely go back (and bring my own creamer). I recommend this wonderful little place to anyone wanting to explore Boulder or enjoy Zen meditation.

I’m just trying to get the word out. This place like everyone has already stated is incredible. You cannot go wrong with Briar Rose. The staff, the atmosphere, everything makes for an excellent time.

I was visiting Boulder just for the day and needed a location to stash my bags for the afternoon and get picked up by the airport shuttle. Attracted to the beautiful garden, and quiet location I stopped by, hopeful that the staff would be accommodating! Lily, was gracious and wonderful. She offered us a place to leave our bags and we waited for the shuttle in their beautiful gardens! The premises are soothing and I will definitely stay here the next time Im in Boulder.

This place is a hidden gem. Total surprise — in an awesome way. My room was adorable and the place is really cute. The staff is laid back, relaxed and helpful. Breakfast is DELICIOUS. Furthermore, as random guests came down to sit around the large nice breakfast table, so many fabulous conversations and connections emerged. I came to Boulder for a job interview. When I got to the interview location, I was honestly so relaxed and I think it had everything to do with the Briar Rose. Will definitely stay again. Small suggestions: staff should know a) the bus routes/​stops a bit better (especially since that is sustainable transport and goes with its sustainability concept) and 2) some local areas to eat. However, everything else more than makes up for that. The kind people; complimentary use of computer and printer; filtered water all day; 25 types of tea; «tea trays»; homemade breads granola and cookies. I left feeling rejuvenated even though I came for a stressful interview!

I enjoyed my stay at the Briar Rose. A quiet and easy B&B to get comfortable and settle in. Meet other travelers at breakfast; meditation room, tea and cookies. Pleasant place to stay.

Staff is excellent. Nice room. Clean although bath jets could have been cleaner. Stayed in Huron room. Never had breakfast. ends too early — 10 weekends and 9 weekdays. Would stay again but don’t plan to have breakfast unless you are a early riser.

We were in the Huron room. It has an awesome Jacuzzi but the room is cramped. The bed was creaky and the walls were thin. Seems like a perfect room for a single person who wants to meditate in the bath tub.

Wonderful and relaxing experience. The staff was welcoming and incredibly friendly. The room (I think we stayed in Blanca) was super cute and had a fireplace that was already prepared to be started when we arrived. They have a wonderful selection of high quality teas and an incredible breakfast (come hungry!).

Briar Rose gets five stars, hands down. It combines the comfort of an old style New England inn with a zen attitude. Homeade breakfast, zen meditation offered every morning, incredible location, and a staff that aims to take care of you (and I mean really take care of you).
I feel at home here; whether in my bedroom, garden, or living room. Morning is a delight, in which the kitchen provides an unending array of treats, from organic vegetable scrabble finished off with garden fresh chives to homeade breads and cookies.
The rooms are simple and beautiful, as is the zen way. I would highly reccomend joining in on the zazen meditation each morning at 6 AM. It is an incredible way to start your day, and while you are here, why not try it!

I just can’t say enough good things about the Briar Rose.
It’s like a home away from home — if that home was beautifully furnished, had fresh baked cookies and the world’s greatest tea selection, and a friendly staff to meet your every need.
I’ve stayed at the Briar Rose at least a dozen times in the last five years. Every time I come back the place has improved: a renovated room, a new part of the garden, a new paint job.
It just keeps getting better!

I am quite well-​rested from the comfy bed and still quite sated from the ample breakfast. Briar Rose, for the win!
The décor is like a stay at Grandma’s place (if Grandma were a librarian and knew how to tastefully display her china collection). Books abound in the main living room and hallway. There were at least t ten in my room alone. I wish I had more time to explore and read.
The location is perfect — Pearl Street is definitely walkable. However, if you’d rather hang out at The Briar Rose, they have plenty of seating areas — large and small — indoors and out (and clearly, plenty of books to read).
The best part, however, were the people. I arrived late at night and was greeted by a letter welcoming me and explaining (in crystal clear detail) how to find my room. Throughout my (brief) stay, everyone was all smiles.
Oh, and free cookies in the dining room all day long — these people know the way to my heart.

I stayed at the Briar Rose for 3 days and nights in march, and loved it.
Kind hearted, friendly, yet relaxed staff & owners, walking distance from downtown, sustainable focus, beautiful meditation room, delicious organic breakfasts, awesome tea selection, computers with wifi, clean, warm and cozy… they even had a bike they let me borrow.
Basically if I could have made up my ideal B&B this is what it would be.
One example of their generosity was when i was running late for an interview and one of the owners gave me a ride instead of letting me wait for a taxi… things like that just don’t happen when staying at big hotels.
