At Hillcrest Bakery we Specialize in Dutch and European Pastries and Goodies. We bake Wedding Cakes, Birthday Cakes, Breakfast and Dessert Pastries, Cookies, Breads & Specialty Holiday Treats.
We have a long tradition of baking and recipies that have been passed down through generations. Marzipan Rolls & Cakes, Banket Staaf, Taai Taai and Speculaas Cookies are some of our Dutch Specialties.
We also bake European favorites including Almond Kringle, Yulekaka, Weihnacht Stollen, Apple Strudel, Almond Macaroons, Napoleans, Petitfours and Eclairs.

History
Established in 1934.
Our Story begins in Wormer, The Netherlands back in 1838. We, the Kaskes Family, began a baking tradition that continues through present day now in two countries. The Kaskes Bakery is still flourishing in Holland as are we here at Hillcrest Bakery in the USA.
Peter Kaskes learned the art of baking in the Netherlands from his father. Trade techniques and old family recipes were taught to Peter from just a young boy through early adulthood.
Peter met the love of his life Leida and married just after WWII. They moved to Vancouver, Canada and had had six beautiful children there as Peter mastered his skills as baker. Peter wanted to own a bakery but didn’t have the opportunity in Vancouver. He learned of Hillcrest Bakery in Bothell, WA, USA and bought it in 1965.
Today, we have 3 generations working at Hillcrest Bakery. Leida, her sons Peter and Bob, her daughter Barbara and her grandchildren Neal, Chazz, Estee, and Cy. We all enjoy making life in Bothell just a little bit sweeter.
