This was an ok place; very crowded, dim and loud, as nightclubs go. You’re probably aware the Boston nightlife scene is already mediocre, and this does not change that. Don’t expect any revelations.

Loved the music, loved the atmosphere! I just can’t believe you have to pay $ 20 to dance though…

Total assholes. Two friends were on the guest list, but didn’t get to go upstairs until they figured out who the promoter was(wtf?). Another friend was charged $ 30 on a $ 25 cover night. Another friend in the group didn’t get in, so we quickly all left, but the guy who was ripped off in the first place couldn’t get a refund(thankfully he was the only one who had managed to pay at this point). We got there at opening and still had to wait about 20 minutes because they can’t run a tight ship. One person at the door was professional, but that’s it. Bad experience, not going back.

Waited in line(6 of us — couples) for nearly 1.5 hours on Halloween eve and finally called it at 1230 am. The place was anyway supposed to close at 2 am. Noticed some groups of girls being ushered in without waiting. Heard from others that the place has 2 dance floors inside — Latin/electric and Pop. Either the place is too tiny even with two floors so that they couldn’t let in more people or they just did a bad job at managing the crowd. Either ways — I’m not coming back!

Don’t go in, go far away from this place. It was all wrong before we got in. First, they kicked my friend out of the line because they assumed he was drunk when he’s just naturally loud. 2nd the bouncers do not have command of the line, they have to yell the same stuff over and over again to get their point across. So it’s just a constant back in forth from the crowd and the bouncers. 3rd depending on when you get there, you have to wait extra and let the table folks get in(which they wanted their money). 4th once you’re in, they heard you like cattle up stairs and it’s just mad chaos, and by this time you’re like I’m almost ready to go. 5th they make everyone pay, even women pay $ 25, only unless you’re on the guest list and military you get a whooping $ 5 off. 6th the DJ sucks, he plays only hits from like the last year or two and then 3 songs that’s on the radio today. The Latin Dj plays mostly reggaeton(on a side note, they need new hits, tired of the same songs from like 10 years ago). 7th, the drinks are overly priced, girly mixed drinks were $ 14. 8th they shove all the people they can in there and it’s gets buck nasty packed where you end up dancing with everyone by force and the passage ways are blocked. Major fire hazard, I thought about calling the Fire Marshall myself because this place blows so much. The only good thing is that I was there with my friends that were able to get in and the club goers were dressed to impress for the most part. Would I ever go again, heck no and I hope no one else go either until management is changed. Wish I could give this place 0 stars.

I wish I could give this establishment less than one star. I am freshly 21 yet I was allowed access into their bar, no questions asked. My 24 year old friend: credit and debit card in hand, was denied. I was on the verge of calling the cops on ourselves because the bouncers were being so rude. We attempted to walk past and the«manager» was grabbed and he apologized and wanted us to go inside. My sister was turning 24 and they begged us to go in, then we agree and ask to check our id’s again. NOW they pick on me!!! They didn’t believe me this time, 30 seconds later. All of these insecure men need to learn how to check an ID. Most worthless bouncers I have encountered

Was there on a Friday night and saw a Middle Eastern college kid being escorted out for punching a girl in the face. Instead of calling the police and having this little dirtbag arrested, they just escorted him out. The poor girl was traumatized. The arrogant, disgusting animals who spend their parent’s oil money on bottle service are some of the worst human beings you could ever have the misfortune of being around, especially if they are smoking cigarettes inside and spraying champagne on their idiot pals. P. S. The women in Boston have no style, and are way out of shape compared to everywhere else. Never seen so many muffin tops spilling out of tacky, cheap clothing!

Entrance fee can be up to 35 bills, not including the waiting line. When you get in, its empty until 1130 ish. Then it just gets too crowded you can barely walk without stepping on someone, drinks are weak and expensive like most clubs in boston. The music is bomb, 2 seperate rooms, one usually top 40 mostly hiphop, trap music and some pop, the other room is latin, so reggaeton, bachata, salsa and some merengue. Good to go once in a while, but if you want the best music to dance to, def Honk kong at fen. Hall.

Went here with a friend on a Saturday and had a blast. Loved that they had two separate sections inside depending on the type of music you’re feeling up to that night. Pricey cover($ 25) and drinks($ 14 each).

I went in there with my partner and a group of friends(12 people total) he was forced to pay twice or he wasn’t allowed to enter the club. He had his ticket in his hands when he noticed that another friend of ours didn’t have cash he turned around to pay for him never leaving the bouncer’s sight when they both got in front of the bouncer he told him he had to get in line and pay again he tried to explain that he paid and that he he his ticket but the bouncer proceeded to shove him out until he gave in and decided to pay again! He did so because it was my birthday and everyone else had paid and there’s no refund! So disappointing !!! That they would hire someone like that! The employees could care less if you’re paying money to enter the club! They are too busy talking to their friends or being on their phones! I Definitely encourage you to go somewhere else! Plenty of other clubs around to have an amazing night! Hope this helps others not have this experience

Not a place where employees take pride in their work. I never understand that when I am out and see it. Later it was pointed out to me that the bartenders are probably trained in house and the giving of good service in secondary because the club doesn’t rely on regulars. It’s all about the$$. It seems like they are going for the posh nightlife environment but have poor selection when it comes to choices of cocktails. It’s ok to be expensive but give me something good. VENU does not. Its ok to have strong promotions, but dont have local artists«pay to play», or in this case pay to display. Not sure if bands were paid, …but I have a guess… which is a shame because the sound was also mixed very poorly. Speaker placement seems set up for club hits so that might not have been the engineers fault. Overall the décor seemed as if the hall was just rented and set up for that night. Apparently they are remodeling, I hope version 2.0 is better.

This place can’t recognize out of state ID’s. I think that that’s an impediment, but they think it’s hilarious. I walked out, then called the police. The cops werent helpful, left, then the bouncers told me that they paid off the cops for«only one dollar!!» What a pathetic, disgraceful place. Only come here if you’re in a bad position. Hate it.

Music at Venu is always on point, but at what cost? Got VIP table service last weekend. Only VIP reservations that night. Our contact was some dude’a brother in a sweatshirt and winter hat. Guest list was irrelevant, we all paid $ 20 to get in «discounted» from $ 30. The fxck am I paying almost a G for if I gotta pay $ 20 to get in? Those idiots don’t talk to each other and they bank on people being unconfrontational. Never spending real money at that shit shack again.

Terrible. I just don’t know how to describe the low quality. It was not a strip club at all. Tight space and no girls to ask you for a lap dance. Just don’t go there guys.

Wow, this place is horrible. I had been wanting to check it out for a few weeks before I went last night(friday night)… it was packed but the DJ was playing very bad latin music… about 7 or 8 horrible songs in a row at a time, nobody was dancing. I can’t stand night clubs where people don’t dance bc the DJ is sooooo bad. This is def one of those places. I don’t mind latin music but it better make the people dance or you are not doing your job as a DJ. also, they were dropping like napkins or some weird paper from the ceiling every a couple minutes, i guess as some kind of effect, but the napkins were getting stuck to people’s shoes… so they were walking around like they had toilet paper stuck to their shoe… very strange. I really don’t understand the napkins falling from the ceiling thing. It was a 30 $ cover each person. That’s a lot of money to pay for bad music and napkins. I bought a few drinks for 14 $ each… drinks in small cups w not that much alcohol. bartender was hot… maybe that’s what i paid for. we left after about an hour. its too loud to talk to people and nobody is dancing… pointless and overly expensive. My search for good music and dancing in Boston continues…

Skip the line, drink, mingle, party. Leave. –1 star deduction for mixing in house/techno music to the hip hop. I hate house music. But then I decided to donate back 1 star because there’s a huge fan located outside of the ladies room that is amazing, so when they do play house music you can take a break and stand near the fan.

If i could give 0 stars for this place i would. My friend won a contest to meet Mario Lopez last night and we were in VIP with the privilege of one free bottle of alcohol. That’s when the problems started. 1. that bottle of alcohol tasted like poop 2. we did not get to meet Mario Lopez like promised 3. waitress brought over a second bottle that we did not order 4. making us shell out $ 500 for a bottle of Grey Goose that was not ordered and the waitress ‘claims’ we did. She took advantage of our fun, that we were under the influence and in the end the bottle has to be paid. AVOIDTHISPLACEATALLCOSTS. ALLTHEWANTTODOISSTEALYOURMONEY.
