Uno Due Go

UDG probably has the best pizza in downtown Boston. All the ingredients are well maintained and fresh and I like the added touch of watching them make the pizzas to order in front of you. The atmosphere is pretty great too. The seating area is very well-​kept and always clean. The bathroom is definitely the best and cleanest on the block (bonus point for that) The only downside to this place would be their pizza price.
The normal personal pie prices are between $ 8 – 9. This is also considering that after eating one of their thin crusts, I was still hungry and probably could eat another half pie. The only reason I come is for their Happy Hour Pizza deal which is half price from 3−5PM on weekdays. Unfortunately, I can rarely hold out until 3.

Ugh, never eating here again. Sandwich tasted old, which says to me that all the ingredients were old since I watched him make it. Got the ‘new’ thanksgiving every day sandwich. Best part of my lunch was the Cape cod chips. Should have gone to the 5 guys next door! Very disappointed.

I stopped in on 1÷8÷16 to grab a sandwich (Sicilian) for dinner and was pleasantly surprised at both the quality of service and food. I would have hoped the quantity of food would have been more for the price, however. The restaurant was clean, orderly and staff very friendly.
I went back on 1÷11÷16 for breakfast (Tuscon) and it was awesome — prepared well, and quite tasty — no blandness here! I also was approached by the manager, Justin, who asked if i was waiting for my order (I was) and he engaged me asking why I was there, first time, etc. Very professional.
I was disappointed to hear that this was their only location — which was a surprise since they are owned by Uno Pizzeria & Grill, in Chicago — (Hint Hint)

I walked by and thought it was Panera. I walked in and thought it was Panera. I was confused because it looked like it on the outside, the tables, the colors, and the menu even. It also is an awkward set up, and I couldnt figure out where to order. I ordered a small cheese pizza flatbread, that was a bit overpriced at $ 7.99. The pizza came fast and was very eye appealing. With eating, the pizza was good. The cheese was tasty, the crust was crispy… but I didn’t like the sauce, it tasted too generic. Overall, I was more impressed with it once I figured out what UDG was, but I wish it stood out more.

I started going to U-​D-​G when they first opened, after going to after-​work Mass (at St. Anthony’s Shrine) next door. It’s a really nice setup, with different counters for different menu items. The seating is very spacious. You don’t feel cramped at all, and you can take off your jacket, eat and relax. My favorite part of U-​D-​G are the employees. Some of them have been there for quite some time. Very low turnover there. Their employees are some of the NICEST I have ever encountered (in Downtown Boston)…always smiling and courteous (and they REALLY go out of their way to make you happy!) U-​D-​G is located on a block of Summer Street where almost every building has some kind of eatery on the first floor. So much competition there, and every time I walk by I look into their huge windows and see the place packed with customers.

Such a cool place! Awesome idea from whoever founded it. I go weekly! Delicious.

Great breakfast and lunches. A step up from panera. The ordering/​layout is awkward but work-​able. Best blueberry muffins in Boston and killer soups!

Went with a friend during lunch one day and we had some sandwiches. The food was really good and quick to get which is important with so many kids! Bot of us has strollers and it was difficult to navigate ourselves to the back, but we made it and had plenty of room to sit and park the strollers.
In case you’re a coke fan though, only pepsi products here! ;)

I ordered a breakfast sandwich here the other day on panini bread. I was disappointed to realize upon receiving the sandwich that it was barely warmed up– it even felt cold in some spots. Additionally, there was barely any cheese on it.
The redeeming qualities of Uno Due Go are the plentiful seating and the ½ priced baked goods after 5 pm, perfect for the commute home.

I always said I’m going to try this place but never took the chance. I went for the first time two weeks ago and needless to say I’m happy about my choice. The deep dish pizza was gooooooooooood! Just what I wanted. To top it all off, I went expecting to pay full price and to my surprise they have a happy hour from 3−5pm so I saved $$$ as well. I was definitely a happy camper with a full satisfied belly. Thanks UDG! I will definitely return.

I liked their breakfast sandwich, delicious and reasonable price. Nice and clean environment. The staff is friendly, but the girl at the counter even let me wait to order because she was talking jokes with another staff. :(

The salad bar is awesome here. Most unique variety of toppings in the area. I appreciate that they pack it all in there (I get so many toppings), and the lunch rush hustle. Great job!

I WANT to love it, I do, I DO. Tasty soups and variety of baked goods. Fireplace is a nice touch. Not Downtown Crossing’s worst offering! And definitely an alternative to Panera if you need a quick spot to meet people with a variety of offerings. Salad bar particularly pretty fresh.
But it’s not my go-​to lunch spot because consistency of the quality is not always there with the sandwiches. For $ 9 (specifically the chicken & brie, cold sandwiches are a little less) I want to be able to count on it being made the same way every time. Instead its tastiness is in the hands of whoever happens to be making it that day. I can’t play that roulette when I’m hungry.
A word on the service: I am not one to complain about people not finding their life’s meaning in quick service; having worked it myself I know the job is not always super happy fun time. I have observed, though, a lack of professionalism (attitude towards fellow employees, carelessness, inattentiveness) from a few employees. Not a deal breaker, but irksome, generally.
In sum, I still come for soup to go, but I’m done taking a gamble on the sandwiches.

What a wonderful find! I visited this location recently for lunch and was blown away by the salad bar and the pizza section. I didn’t get a chance to look at the soups or the sandwich selection but I plan to visit again.
On my visit I had the make your own salad with everything my little heart desired and my salad was perfectly mixed and chopped. The staff are friendly and helpful! The portion size is large and my salad was very hearty and filling. The salad line can get long but they move very quickly and it is definitely worth the wait.
I want to try the pizza next visit but the person I was with had the thin crust and really enjoyed it. They make your pizza to order and it’s cooked in about 6 minutes… at least for the thin crust. The personal sized deep dish pizza looked amazing!
Take your time and look around you’re bound to find something you’ll like!

This place has become miserable… especially the night crew after 5 pm. I just left after redeeming my loyalty dollars and the young lady who checked me out at the bakery register acted like your «standard textbook example of entry level worker who thinks she’s too cool to work here». Ignored me first at the register until I asked for help because she was too busy complaining to her coworker that she was still working. I was surprised she didn’t reach over the counter and stab me in the eye with a plastic butter knife.
So en route out of the store, I said to the seemingly — manager lady «You realize that employee is miserable to customers right?» To which she replied, «Yeah I know.»
Stand up performance from employees who hate customers. I spent a lot if years behind counters for $ 5.15 an hour but never treated a customer that way.
FAIL. Rude rude rude. If I didn’t think I’d get murdered by the girl who was the cashier I would have asked for my money back because I really detest patronizing business who hire the dregs of society ad employees.

I’ve never seen a salad bar so extravagant as I have seen here. They have probably like fifty toppings available and they’re always fresh. Unlike Just Salad, they put love and care into chopping the salad and serve it with this amazing freshly made herb flatbread. If you like bomb dressings, the lemon olive oil basil vinaigrette is the real MVP. I used to come here all the time for their salads and never got sick of it. The bakery and sandwiches are great as well if salad isn’t your thing. Oh how I wish there were a Uno Due Go in New York. It’s true, you never realize what you have until it’s gone.

The area is saturated with a variety of places to go for breakfast and lunch, but UDG is the place you should go.
UDG is clean and the staff are super friendly. My favorite part is the «make your own salad» area, I get to choose all of my fresh toppings and they way they chop it up is amazing. I am honestly one of those people who love the «toppings» on their salad and do not eat the lettuce. UDG salads are so good that I eat it all. The variety of toppings available for your salad outnumber Wholefoods. I like big big salads with lots of add ins, these probably are around two pounds and I spend about $ 12 for these salads. The quality is wonderful and these salads keep me full until well after 7pm.
Lines are massive around lunch time 12 – 1:30pm, plan to go before or after those time frames in order to get quicker service.
I’ve had their breakfast bagel sandwich as well; egg, ham and cheddar. The sandwich was really good although I wish they offered English muffins to put it on to reduce the carbs. You can also get breakfast sandwiches as a wrap, but I personally don’ think a wrap belongs anywhere near breakfast.
The only things I would comment on as negative are:
1. If you go during the peak hours for lunch, the lines are so unorganized. You may find yourself waiting in the salad line if you were in fact trying to get into the pizza line. I would recommend they change those line queues or at least have someone direct people.
2. $ 1 for each hard boiled egg in my salad? I paid $ 2.25 for a dozen fresh eggs the other day!

I had one of the best salads I’ve ever had here. They have several salad options on the menu to choose from, or you can select the ingredients that you want and they’ll make a salad to order. The ingredients are all incredibly fresh and delicious. Once the salads are mixed, another employee chops them up and adds dressing. I will be returning many more times for salads and wouldn’t hesitate to try their sandwich options.

This place is good, it offers fresh, somewhat affordable sandwiches, salads and pizza. The salad bar is great — you can build your own (without protein) for approximately $ 8 and with protein, $ 10. They have a lot of options — 5 different combos of lettuce base, 20 or so veggie/​carb options: everything from summer squash to quinoa to trail mix to grapes. It just feels uninspired, like one of those perfectly acceptable bodegas that dot lower Manhattan, which you might grab lunch at every day, but when people ask you where you go, you forget the name of the place.
The one remarkable thing about this spot is the staff. They are very friendly, even during lunch hour, when the place is a mad house.

World’s BEST Grilled Cheese (V) $ 6.99 — 12-​month aged Cheddar, Cheddar cheese curds, roasted tomato jam
I gave Uno Due Go’s self proclaimed World’s Best grilled cheese a chance. Its time in the heat took longer than the two sandwiches ordered after me. It then sweated through the wrapping on the counter as I paid, leaving a damp shadow in its wake.
Still, after I unwrapped it while in the UDG dining area and started on the first half, there was a nice consistent toasted crisp chew to the bread, but it rather light on the jam and definitely not the best grilled cheese I ever had. The second half softened as it sat on the table waiting for its turn to be consumed; perhaps I should have set it on its side to help it to retain its crispness?
I could have had my choice of a build your own sandwich, with a protein!, for the same $ 6.99, and might have enjoyed it all the better.

Got a Turkey & Avocado Cream Signature Sandwich on Asiago $ 7.79 (all natural turkey, cheddar, red peppers, basil, romaine) and I ate it, all. And was just a tad overstuffed.
