Description

Specialties

Sami’s is an award winning, Lebanese style, Mediterranean food establishment. We offer a wide variety of vegetarian choices, as well as lamb, beef, fish and chicken dishes. Our foods are delicious, nutritious and healthy. We do not use preservatives, grease, msg. or fat in our cooking. Our quality is superb and our prices are in line or even better than any sub shop, Chinese restaurant, pizza parlor, fried chicken place, or fast food outfit.

History

Established in 1979.

Sami’s was established in 1979 when my mom and dad bought a catering truck. They used to stay up most of the night to cook the food at our house in Roslindale. Then in the morning they would load the food on the truck, and drive to Longwood Avenue in Boston to sell it. It was not easy growing up in that house, but we managed. We had refrigerators in the living room, equipment in the kitchen, and one of the bedrooms was used for storage.

Thank God they were an instant hit with the Longwood Medical Area staff and visitors, as well as with the rest of the city. Over the years, our Children’s Hospital location became a Boston landmark. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, customers 40 – 50 at a time, would actually line up for our Roll-Ups. To the best of my knowledge, no one was serving Roll-Ups/Wraps in those days. I believe that we were the first to do so.

He first came to America at the age of 16 with less than $ 2 in his pocket. He held many jobs over the years before finally opening his own business in 1979 with his wife Amy.
