Oppa Sushi

Sashimi is very fresh and tasty. I also tried the patriots maki, and it is quite creative. Everything is delicious and good looking. I will definitely come back!

Food was average at best and service was terrible! I would call this the typical «Americanized» sushi place, where is looks like a little piece of gold but then you go in and are smacked with an $ 8 beer. The sushi was the best part (but still average), so i recommend anyone going there for that if anything. The seafood udon tasted plain (almost like water) and had imitation crab which is not real seafood. Had to call the waiter to take our order, our food took forever and had to call the waiter for a check. Water was never refilled. I had such great expectations but this only disappointed me! Don’t go!

Small little restaurant in the basement about 5 or 6 little tables. I went in with my friend and had to wait 15 minutes for a seat, no problem. After we were seated, the server took really long to bring us water or to even come around and took our order. ALSO. He barely spoke English. Again, understandable since its a little hidden sushi place. We ordered sashimi and got sushi. We ordered two rolls and they both had soy sauce poured all over it which made it super salty. After a few dishes came out, they asked us to move table which was really unprofessional but overall, the price was decent. Would go again for sashimi but no more rolls!

This restaurant is lovely! It is a small little place that you might walk past if you weren’t looking for it… I have been here several times and have never been disappointed. It has become my go-​to place when I want sushi. The food is delicious, and the service is second to none. Also — did I mention that the prices are very, very reasonable?
I usually order sushi when I come here (it’s always fresh and very good!) but tonight I decided to branch out and tried the spicy shumai ramen and enjoyed that just as much!
Definitely give Oppa Sushi a try!

Wow, where do I start! I’ve been to Oppa many times now since coming back from Montréal and I am addicted! The food is authentic and delicious, and prices are very reasonable. Excellent service– very friendly wait staff and the sushi chef was so kind and always makes me feel right at home. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried – my personal favorites are the Pork Bulogi as well as the «super crunch maki». Brought my dad here and now he’s hooked (he’d been looking for a place he could get Sapporo reserves with his meal!!) Such a quaint atmosphere too, I’ll keep coming back every week!

I haven’t been impressed by Boston sushi, but I will say that Oppa Sushi is much better than FuGaKyu.
I was glad to see that the sushi was correctly made. The rice cooked and molded right. The fish was cut right. This is surprisingly hard to come by. Although the fish did not taste as fresh, compared to my other experiences, it may come as fresh as it could be.
I had the combo plate and found it underwhelming. I had about 8 or 9 pieces or sushi, but only three different types of fish. My mistake, maybe I should have asked what kind of fish they had in the combo. I’m typically used to sushi combos that don’t repeat itself.
Other than that, the service was okay. The server was nice, but didn’t seem like an efficient trained server. It’s definitely a homey place to eat at. I wouldn’t recommend taking a date here.

This place is just awesome. The other sushi restaurants in Boston are FAKE compare to the «Oppa Sushi». The Chef is very kind and gives you a happy-​happy power, and servers are really kind too.

Omg haven’t been wowed like this in awhile. I can see why this place has 5 stars now! A lot of attention to detail.
Super Friendly staff and amazing tasting food. The hamachi Kama was my favorite dish, seasoned simply with a little salt and pepper, seared to perfection. I also ordered a special sushi roll that lights on fire! Talk about cool and tasty at the same time. Will definitely be back again and again.

My wife and I have been here twice now. I ordered the spicy seafood ramen and she ordered sushi. The food was very good and the staff very friendly. We all talked about our cats and showed pictures of our cats on our phones.
The place is small and can get crowded at times but no matter how busy it gets the staff is friendly and attentive. While we were waiting for our food we were given complementary miso soup to thank us for our patience.
We will definitely continue to come here whenever we need to satisfy our ramen or sushi cravings.

I have known him for a long time since he was a sushi chef in Medford, MA.
His sushi is not only beautiful but also so tasty. Best sushi in Boston period.

This is a tiny restaurant that can only fit 10 tables.
We found this place through Unilocal,the food was just okay
we ordered the party boat (small) it left me 80% full and we have 3 people.
Overall its fun experience but sashimi was not very fresh + wrong color. Not very consistent quality with other reviews.
The fire maki roll was pretty amazing (it comes flaming) but it was too spicy.
By the way, all the cooks/​waitress are Korean, whereas sushi comes from Japan. Oppa is a Korean word, which is indicative that the workers are Korean.

Great food and great vibes. Wait staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the sushi chef treats everyone like family… Fish is consistently fresh and everything on the menu is worth trying. Bibimbap and ttokbokki are my favorites!

Got their sashimi special (sukidashi), similar to omakase. It was an incredible experience.
Don’t expect anything fancy, but superb quality fish and other fresh sea foods with impeccable service. I’ll keep returning!

I love Oppa! They’re always so friendly, and their lunch specials are worth it. About $ 10 for 2 rolls (12 pieces total), soup, and salad, hell yea!
I usually order to go, but the two times I ate there and got their special rolls I was not disappointed. You can tell it’s a very family-​style, no frills type place since we were the 2^nd to last people there and the owner or one of the chefs was taking to a family that seemed to be regulars there.

This is such a quaint little place for a sushi restaurant. I love the sushi here. Everything is so flavorful but the portions are a bit small. I order two rolls every time.
I really like the Crazy Maki and Salmon Cucumber Maki. There are much more adventurous rolls, like the Fire Bruins Maki„ which is also really good but more expensive.
Come for late lunch. It seems to be less busy during the later hours of lunch. Dinner time can be quite busy. I usually go to Genki Ya, further down Harvard St if there’s a wait.

Sushi here was great, love the little neighborhood gems, tiny place but perfect And amazing waitress, friendly and so chill, family run joint, just a cool place. Better than what I have had at some of the fancier sushi spots in Cambridge and Alston!

I can’t say much about the other places because since day one I have only been coming here. The girl on the phone can order what you want just tell her what your taste is she’ll do the rest.

I love this place. They have very fresh fish and and their food is very good. They have something called Jjambong ramen and it is especially very unique and tasty (also spicy). They also sell korean traditional foods. I would definitely come back to this place if I come back to Boston!

Places like this really makes me wish I could give ½ stars since 3 seems too low and 4 too generous. The atmosphere was a comforting homely sort. The place is super tiny, but cute in a way like eating at someone’s home. The food was cheaply priced. They had special rolls here all under $ 15. The quality of the food definitely wasn’t high end. I guess that’s kinda of the charm of the place. Come here for super casual dining and with low expectations; you’ll do fine. The waitress though was awesome and gave us a mini app on the house while we waited for our order. The family vibe here is genuine.

Tiny place with extensive menu. We did take out and the girls were very helpful in explaining the items on the menu as this was our first time getting food from this place.
We had some kind of sea bass sashimi, spicy tuna hand roll and another roll with tuna, avocado
All was delicious and the roll composition not your usual once, you can find in most places.

This is an example of a traditional, whole-​in-​the-​wall, family owned and run sushi place. I can’t believe what a simple and perfect experience it was eating here.
The staff is very friendly and the food was fantastic and fresh. Flavorful, bold and inviting all in one! My only wish was a fresher green tea; it would’ve really hit the spot.
I look forward to coming back and enjoying myself again, make sure to show up early, fills up fast and it’s a tiny hidden gem!

I’ve been here 2x so far and both times have been SUPER great food and service.
When you first walk into this place, you feel like you’re going into someone’s basement (but dont let looks food you!). The restaurant is fairly small but fits a generous amount of people. I’ve had the Sashimi Don, the red sox maki, and the fire bruins maki. All of which I have nothing but great things to say about it. The Sashimi don has an assort of sashimi on top of veggies and it comes with a side of rice. You mix the rice & the spicy sauce they give into the bowl. and it’s pure heaven!
The first time I ordered the sashimi don, I didn’t know it came with the spicy sauce, but the chef came out from the sushi bar and saw I had no sauce, so he asked me why I didn’t want sauce. It’s super rare to have a chef come out and talk to customers. but he did and he’s great! (Not to mention he has a picture right in front of his sushi bar of him & Jeremy Lin.)
I can’t wait to go back and try other food on their menu. but i definitely recommend the sashimi don if you need suggestions!

So so so good! I have to say that I honestly have passed this place so many times but never even thought twice to go in! Then one night we were craving sushi and remember that place!
It’s small, friendly and really good. It wasn’t super busy so the service was great and we ordered a couple rolls and it tasted fresh. Definitely worth a stop!

Quality sushi, but I have definitely had better in the area. They don’t have a large selection of rolls, but the ones we ordered were still pretty good. We asked for brown rice instead of white rice in our sushi, but didn’t get it. I’m not sure if they don’t have it, or didn’t catch the request. Either way, still a great place if you’re nearby!
