Sarah Seminara was very helpful in our apartment search which was not easy. After seeing dozens of awful places from other agents affiliated with different real estate companies she swooped in to help us. Many real estate agents didn’t bother to get back to us at all on listings we were interested in. After putting a deposit on a place we loved and then having the owner decide to give it to a friend instead we had lost all hope. Sarah ended up finding us a place we really like. I had a great experience looking for an apartment through Marc Roos Realty. Sarah Seminara was the agent who helped me and she couldn’t have been better. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the apartment and the surrounding area. She not only showed the apartment, but gave me valuable suggestions in case I rented the apartment (for example, how to handle parking in the area). Sarah was not pushy at all, like some other realtors I’ve experienced. She truly cared about what I was looking for and didn’t simply try to push something onto me. I would definitely use her services again and will definitely recommend her to others.

I’ve been meaning to write this review since May, so I apologize but better late than never. Sarah Seminara was realtor and she was above and beyond excellent. I contacted quite a few realtors who said they would help me and didn’t. She worked with me for two or three months, sending me listings that were in my budget and met my needs. Where I live now is everything I could hope for in a home. I have excellent landlords who respond quickly, a quiet street and a charming apartment that may be the first place I’ve really considered a home in a long time. The second she got this listing she held it for me so I could see it first and it is perfect. Anyone who works with her will truly be working with a wonderful personable person who goes above and beyond to meet your needs! Thank you for finding me a home Sarah!

This review is specific to Jared Walsh and Darin.
I went through 3 realty companies before I worked with Jared and Darin at MRR, and all of them were horrible: didn’t respect my price range, told me I could afford more than I could, and told me that if I absolutely HAD to stay within my budget, all they could show me were shitty apartments. Awesome. Then I magically found Jared and Darin and literally landed my dream apartment (within 24 hours of working with them!). They went completely above and beyond to help me, and were incredibly respectful and honest throughout the entire process.
I highly suggest those looking for an apartment work with one or both of these guys, as they have easily been the BEST I’ve worked with, and I’ve been renting in Boston for 5 years.

This review is about Sarah Seminara. I had neutral interactions at the office and a strange interaction with another realtor, but Sarah is the best.
I needed to move in a flash last December and responded to a Craigslist ad. She got in touch with me right away and I was viewing the apartment within a day. She has since helped me and my lovely new roomies with questions, concerns, and finding our next place. I have experience on both sides of the landlord/​tenant divide and Sarah is masterful at her job. She is also incredibly down to earth and a very warm personality. Always puts me at ease!
I know that if I move in the future I will seek her out.

I met Sarah Seminara over a year ago, when she showed me the apt I am now renting. Frustrated with my landlord but wanting to renew my lease I called Sarah for some assistance. Leaving a message she called me right back, listened to me rant, and offered great suggestions on how to handle my situation. Sarah is a great lady who goes above and beyond. If I ever need to find another place to live Sarah will get my first call. If you need a place to live call Sarah, she’ll hook you up!

I can’t speak about all the realtors that work through Marc Roos Realty, but I can speak of one that has been fantastic. After looking at eight apartments through a different realtor, I decided to take a look on craigslist. I was then connected with Marc Roos Realty and then received a call from Sarah Seminara. Sarah got us a viewing of the place we were interested in, and when that one didn’t appeal to us, she asked us what our priorities were. Later that afternoon, Sarah sent us about four or five listings that she thought matched our needs. We saw one that we liked, and Sarah went ahead and arranged for us to look at it as soon as we could. Once we let her know that it was «the one» we wanted, Sarah got right on it and made sure we met with the landlord quickly. Sarah’s demeanor, professionalism, and genuine interest in pleasing her clients was apparent all the way through the process. She even paid for our credit score out of her own pocket, because she wanted to make sure we had everything the landlord might require, and we were dragging our feet on that one point. Once the lease was signed, we continued to get calls from Sarah, checking in to see how things went with getting the keys from the landlord, moving into our new place, and settling in. To top it off, she asked to stop by to see our place, and brought an Edible fruit basket as a gift! Wow… ask for Sarah.

For anyone who has tried to rent a decent home or apartment in or near Boston, close to public transportation, and who will allow a cat… well that is not an easy combo… I discovered that several realtors were just willing to tell me to get rid of my daughter’s cat and then they could find me a nice place…
One Sunday morning I saw a listing that looked great… I got so lucky… Sara Seminara answered the phone when I call Marc Roos Realty… Sara asked me questions about what I needed… she didn’t focus on what would be easiest for her. She met me that day and made my needs her priority.
Sarah really listened… she was aware of a home that was just coming on the market… a bit over my budget but she knew that the house met every criteria I gave her. My daughter and I fell in love with the home as soon as we entered the front door. We went to see the original listing as well… but we had already fallen in love with the beautiful old Victorian.

We worked with Sarah at Marc Roos Realty when we were looking for new apartments. Everything was handled so smoothly! She was friendly, professional and accommodating. The rental process tends to be very stressful for me but I felt so at ease this time because everything was honest, straightforward, and simple. Sarah took care of everything and now we’re in a great apartment.

I have moved into and out of 10 Boston apartments. I have always had a positive experience with realtors and landlords until now. We were told that we were approved to move into a 3 bedroom townhouse in West Newton. Then somehow 2 hours later it was not ours any more. Loosing the apartment wasn’t the worst part. The worst part was the lack of communication and when there was communication it was very vague. Beware of Marc Roos Realty (especially Sam that works there).

I worked with Darin over at Marc Roos Realty on an apartment rental recently and he was a great agent! He was tireless in showing me multiple apartments and really honed in on what I was looking for. He was very responsive and went above and beyond to meet my needs.

I hate realtors, I’m not keen on the notion of a brokers fee, and I definitely will say that I was put off by the less than stellar reviews of this joint.
That being said, Lee Moretti truly blew my expectations out of the water. Right off the bat she was very responsive to all of my questions and was prompt with her replies. There’s nothing worse than seeing an apartment listed that seems «too good to be true» and then either finding out that it was, in fact, too good to be true or to just be blatantly ignored.
Lee was very patient with my unpredictable schedule, honest about her opinions on the place I was interested in and always followed up as immediately as possible on questions she didn’t know the answer to (plus she is a babe and a total hoot to talk to!). My boyfriend and I felt very comfortable with her and not at all pressured despite her candid sense of urgency regarding how quickly the apartment would be snatched up if we didn’t act fast.
Lee had all the qualities that I DIDN’T expect out of an agent (a great thing). What really made this a five star experience, however was HOW far she was willing to go to make sure we got the place we wanted. She personally drove us to and from the apartment, successfully negotiated a lower rent than the asking price, dropped us off at my boyfriend’s home after we decided to apply, kept us updated every step of the way, came back to pick the applications up from his home and then picked us up to finalize, sign, meet the property manager, get the keys, and even dropped us off after it was all said and done. I really couldn’t possibly recommend more or sing higher praises of Lee’s professionalism and care. :)

I had a very bad experience at this place with my apartment hunting last fall. Basically we ended up finding an apartment (which was great) but we found it on a Sunday so we couldn’t put down the full deposit. The broker at Marc Roose told us it wasn’t a problem and as long as we put down 1 month that the apartment would be taken off the market. (They were really cool while we were still in town).
Back story: (I had flown from the west coast just to look at apartments and finally found one on the last day)
After I flew back home I get a call from Marc Roos saying that if I don’t wire the money in 30 minutes they are giving the apartment to someone else. WTF? Even after they assured us that it was 100% MINE AND OFF THE MARKET. This is at 6AM pacific time. It gets worse. After we wire all the money the landlord hadn’t decided if they wanted to rent to me or not, so I still didn’t have the apartment. (Thanks for checking that out Marc Roose).
After finally getting the apartment Marc Roose tries to add on all these extra fees to his commision. Extra money for this, for that, $ 50 for wiring fees when it costs less.
There is a reason that this place is in a crappy office on the way to Fenway.

I worked with Meghan at Marc Roos Realty and thought she was the *only* good broker I’ve ever worked with in Boston. I was looking for a ⁹⁄₁ move in mid July.
Unlike other brokers, she told me it was a fine time to have great selection. And she didn’t lie! Although I was disappointed to pay a full fee (I did get an awesome deal!), they definitely earned it! I was shown about 10 places in my price and location range. I was happy in my current place, so this was a complete «make-​me-​move» sort of apartment search.
I’d recommend everyone make her your first call. She’s not like your traditional, hard close agent. I really feel like I was able to make a relaxed decision.

I met with broker Linda A. Ruggiero pretty much on whim. I hadn’t read any prior Unilocal reviews (a rarity for me). I live around the corner from the office and just walked in on whim. It was fate.
Linda and I had trouble meeting because of schedule conflicts, but she always responded very promptly to my emails. In the meantime, I met with many other realtors in my apartment search. They alternated from excellent to a little pushy, but I couldn’t find anything decent in my price range due to the college rush and my after-​September-​first move in date. I was getting panicky.
After several weeks, I finally managed to meet with Linda Ruggiero, and she had only one apartment to show me. This wasn’t her fault — I had waited too long, and the selection was bleak with all the realtors I met with prior. Many had literally nothing to show me. But Linda had listened to me carefully, «knows her properties,» and took me to my dream apartment. It had everything on my checklist — it was like she literally read my mind. I was blown away, as was my boyfriend.
Only when Linda was fully assured I loved the apartment and wanted it 100%, she went into super-​high-​gear to ensure our application would beat the other people who had already seen it and were showing strong interest in the listing. She went out of her way and picked me up IN HER PERSONAL CAR to save time (she actually stowed my boyfriend’s bike in the back of her station wagon!), rushed me to her office, and, while feeding me copious amounts of miniature chocolate bars, personally helped me fill out the paper work. She photocopied everything for my files and painstakingly explained everything to me. She moved with the lightening speed and thoroughness of a practiced professional.
She also went out of her way to negotiate both the rent (fail) and move-​on date (win). She’s a charmer who knows all the management companies and obviously has an excellent rapport with all of them.
After the paperwork was completed around 5:00pm, she then rushed off AGAIN downtown to ensure our application would be in front of a competitive line. And thanks to her speediness and extra care, we got the apartment.
I’d recommend her to anyone, and Marc Roos is VERY lucky to have her, judging by the other reviews. I honestly can’t believe I landed this apartment — if it wasn’t for Linda, I’d be most likely be living in a windowless basement with a dead rat in the corner. I am extremely thankful for her top-​notch customer service, and I will forever be grateful for her.
