3.5 stars Sometimes Kung fu tea is a hit or miss. I really like my boba soft, chewy, and sweet. Their boba is consistently sweet the way I like it. But unfortunately if you go at an off time like when they’re not super busy, the boba is almost always hard. So unfortunate. Also their prices are too steep compared to tea do’s but I love their boba when they make it right. It’s a win lose situation.

If you are looking for a cup of icy sweet milk tea to cheer yourself up, you are in the right place. But you might also receive a icy service while you are ordering and waiting. Like the green tea bubble milk tea and red bean milk tea a lot. Will recommend for pick up cuz the waiting time is a bit long.

Delicious strawberry green tea! I think this place leans too tea-y for me(I drink soda daily and think that sweetness is normal, lol), so I get my fruity drinks extra sweet and light ice. Free wifi, comfy chairs, clean bathrooms, convenient location, and great service that accepts credit card w/o a minimum! And with delicious drinks too!?! Couldn’t ask for anything else in a boba place! Also, for what it’s worth, I made 2 trips to this KFT location within 5 hours to order more boba. I love KFT that much!

The best bubble tea I’ve ever had. I go here so often it’s not even funny. This specific KFT place has a very cozy atmosphere where people can relax and enjoy their beverage. The milk teas are the best in my opinion, you can’t go wrong with them. I love how you can customize ice and sugar levels, as well as add toppings other than boba. The only problem is, sometimes they don’t put in your requests of different levels of ice or sugar. But, still amazing!

Pretty good bubble tea. I had the large almond milk tea($ 4.75) with bubbles(additional $ 0.50) as well as a green tea macaron($ 2.50). My bubble tea was delicious, although I thought they were a bit slow(there wasn’t anybody but me waiting for my drink but the girl was doing something else while the guy who took my order went in back). The green tea macaron was a huge disappointment. Very bland with just a slight hint of green tea. I thought it would be more flavorful because it was so intensely green. I would definitely avoid getting any macarons and just stick to the bubble tea, especially with the high price per macaron. If you insist on having a macaron go to Whole Foods and get one of their green tea ones($ 1.99). There’s a decent amount of seating, free wifi, and free outlets to charge your electronics with. The place is well lit and very clean. The staff were nice enough. Overall, for Back Bay, this is a nice convenient bubble tea place, but I’ve definitely had good bubble tea for much cheaper in Chinatown. I think I’d only come here if I really had a craving for bubble tea and was just feeling too lazy to go take the subway to Chinatown.

Located conveniently right outside of symphony station, I come here pretty frequently. This place has good boba which I really like, but it’s a hit or miss when it comes to that. It’s a nice place, pretty spacious, it’s also a good place to have a one on one with a friend or study by yourself. Either way, the ambience is good for both. I usually rotate between the milk green tea with boba and passion fruit green tea with lychee jelly. They make it pretty nicely most of the time and the speed is fast.

This Kung Fu Tea had a premium location. It was conveniently located nearby the Northeastern University and Museum of Fine Arts. The«Northeastern’ stop of the green line of the T was a short walk away. Around 5 p.m. this Saturday, my friend and I were served immediately. The service was efficient. Both drinks came within five minutes. This review is specifically for the medium size $ 4.01 Longan Jujube with mung beans. This beverage was sugary. As this drink was made out of syrup, you could not adjust the sweetness level. The sweetness level could be adjusted for the milk teas. I couldn’t taste the Jujube flavor. The Jujube should have a herbal flavor. The filler was $ 0.50 each. It was interesting to discover the mung beans were not as sweet as the red beans. The décor was clean with a modern fireplace. There were a lot of electric plugs to charge electronics. Free wifi was available on site. The password was written on the wall: «we loveyou». The bathroom were clean.

Came back here for their taro slush with boba and it was awesome. Also the décor here is nice(their big neon blue sign) and they have great seating for studying.

Oolong milk tea all day err day. It’s my to go to place when in need of some good boba. The taste is always consistent. Staff is very friendly. It’s a nice study spot since it’s spacious and has free wifi. However it can get pretty crowded and loud especially on weekends.

Like so many others before me, I am a self-professed boba-holic. In the Bay Area, new boba and milk tea shops pop up every couple of weeks and I always feel like they’re within arms-reach whenever I get a craving for some tapioca goodness. So when I moved to Boston and after tasting disappointment at a handful of other cafes, I thought I was sh*t outta luck in terms of finding the perfect place to get my milk tea fix. That is, until I stumbled upon Kung Fu one day while walking home from a spin class. That first time, I decided to play it safe and get the honey green tea with herbal jelly. Not expecting much, I was very surprised at how well-balanced the drink was! Since then, I’ve gone on to try other drinks, but my current go-to is the KF milk green tea with herbal jelly and pearls. A flawless mix of sweet, creamy, and a little bit of a floral aftertaste from the tea, it’s probably the best boba I’ve had in Beantown. And since ice and sugar levels are customized according to customer preference, you really can’t go wrong. However, they tend to run out of pearls at times, so you might have to wait 10 – 15 minutes while they cook up a fresh batch, or forego bubbles all together. The seating area is also very large and spacious with tons of tables and outlets, making it prime real estate for plopping down and getting some work done for a few hours. Not to mention, free wifi!

Located on Northeastern University territory, this place is humongous! Flat screen tv’s, lots of contemporary seating for studious students typing away on their laptops, even a modern fireplace. This place can fit a large crowd. I thought it was so silly to have literally 5 – 6 staff members behind the counter at once. 2 of them at the register and the rest chatting away loudly behind them. Either they are overstaffed or half of them are friends pretending to work there! I got the Wow Kung Fu Milk tea I saw advertised outside the window. I initially thought«Wow» was to make it sounds cool. I didn’t know«Wow» actually meant with lactose-free milk. I actually found it through reading the reviews on Unilocal.Either way I didn’t taste a difference. I’m cool w/or w/o it. My freshly made drink was warm at first but eventually cooled down after stirring around the ice. The warm milk briefly reminded me of warm milk you drink as a baby and I really liked that. KFT is what I wish Connecticut had more of because their boba is just the right consistency. Not overcooked and mushy but not under-cooked(raw/half hard/half soft). Plus no powdery artificial after-taste. It would be great to have an inviting place for college students or people in general to lounge at instead of the usual café.

All KFT locations taste the same to me, hence the four stars. But in terms of location, I think this is the most convenient location ever because the Symphony T stop is literally right in front of you. There is also the Mass Ave T stop right across the stress as well. It’s also super spacious here — however they are lacking on outlets — so you never really have to fight for a table or a seat. Most of the customers who come here are college students. One thing that I don’t like about this location is that it is kind of in a basement(not really), so it’s kind of suffocating for me. I love window spaces and they don’t really have it. Even so, it is still sub-ground which I don’t like. It’s good to come here if you are with a big crowd though and want to come here to chat.

Tasty authentic milk tea /boba served with exactly the sugar levels you want — you can request half, quarter or none at all. Favorites are red bean, sesame and taro — would love to try the golden oolong. Boba consistency is key and Kung Fu Tea gets it right — «kiu kiu» as in perfectly chewy, not under-cooked/hard, not over-cooked/mushy. Cute, spacious café, great location near Symphony.

If you love tea-based boba, Kung fu Tea is the place to go. Although I’ve never been fond of supporting large chains, I find that the drinks and store hours are fitting for students. For drinks, the best milk tea is golden oolong. It’s smooth and creamy, with just the right touch of tea in it. You can’t find this flavor anywhere else. Plus, I love that I can control the amount of sugar and ice… The boba is cooked to perfection every time. It’s chewy with a little bounce still. I hate overcooked boba, or even boba that you know had been sitting in a container for the full day. The hours are until 11 everyday. If you’re a student, you know the struggle of finding coffee shops with later hours. The tables are wide and great for study groups. But it’s loud! The last star missing is for service. I must be spoiled by establishing relationships with shop workers in the past. The workers here seem very impersonable despite how often I’ve frequented this place. They just take my order but never have the pleasantry I enjoy about coffee-type shops.

One of the better places to get bubble tea in my opinion. I haven’t been faithful to any one specific bubble tea shop because the quality and most importantly, the taste seems to differ between visits. This kung fu tea is one of my favorite locations to venture to compared to other locations. The service is relatively speed and the flavor is usually on point.

The Oolong Milk Tea with boba. Get it with half-sugar, too. My second favorite item is the Lychee Punch. Especially if it’s a hot day, the Lychee Punch really does the trick. It has lychee slices in it already, so it’s great even without boba. Everything on their drink menu sounds delicious, so be adventurous. I’ve been here about four times at this point, and I plan to try their other milk teas. You can adjust the sugar levels in your drink, so try experimenting with that. Changing the sugar levels really changes your drink. I usually get my drinks with half-sugar because I like the taste of the natural tea. The have seasonal drinks, so keep a look out for those. They also have macarons that I still haven’t tried but am very excited about. It’s never been super busy whenever I’ve come here. There’s plenty of seating and free WiFi. I’ve come here once with a couple friends who live in Back Bay to study, and it’s a good space to do that. Too bad I don’t live closer to this location. I’d be here more often to get some studying done.

After my third visit to Kung Fu Tea, I’ve decided I’m a fan. The tea is good, the boba is soft, chewy, & sweet, the staff is nice enough. The shop is really clean, contemporary, bright, & spacious, allowing students or just a person with computer things to work until they close their doors. There’s free WiFi; the password is printed on your receipt. Each drink is perfectly customizable so you can get more or less ice, more or less boba + jelly, &/or more or less sugar. I’m used to seeing food options at boba shops, but I suppose it’s good that KFT has some baked goods instead of popcorn chicken or what not. Definitely helps to discourage random snacking. One comment I have to make: there’s a fairly new female employee who is really loud. I’m glad she works in a place where she has made friends really quickly & has fun with them, but there’s no need to shout about your life story(honestly, I have no idea what she’s saying because it’s not in a language I understand) to your co-worker who is a foot away from you. The decibel at which she speaks is really irritating. I’m all about woman power & what not, but dang girl, you loud. Calm down, lady, sheesh.

Can you tell by the number of check-ins that I kind of like Kung Fu Tea? I was introduced to bubble tea by my roommate, and I have yet to have better bubble tea than what I’ve had here. It’s a tad disappointing because they are a chain, but if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em! I’m a creature of habit, so my go-to tea is always the Coffee Milk Tea with bubbles(duh). It’s the perfect balance of sweet and refreshing, and the tapioca bubbles — which are always cooked to perfection, might I add — make the tea that much more fun and enjoyable! I have also had their Pineapple Sunshine drink, and I happen to really like it. Caution: it comes with a heck of a lot of pulp, so if you’re not a fan, don’t get it! What makes this Kung Fu Tea location even better is, well, their location! It’s conveniently located right off of Huntington Ave., which is the best and worst thing I could possible ask for. With it’s prime location comes a hefty amount of tea drinkers, but regardless of their traffic, I’ve never had to wait more than 5 minutes total for my tea, from ordering to picking up on the other end of the counter. This place is bubble tea heaven, and you should absolutely indulge when you’re here!

Great place for some bubble tea in the city. Conveniently located right next to symphony station(green line) and has a few plugs and free wifi for people if you want to sit and do work. Only problem is, the place can get a bit noisy when the the KFT workers are using their blenders. Overall, place is nice. There are plenty of seats, warning though, I wouldn’t sit near the bathrooms which is at the far back left(it can be a bit smelly to sit near it). There are macarons here but I haven’t tried them yet. The only drink I come here for is the Jasmine Green Milk tea! Get it cold/hot it’s so good. This location unfortunately charges tax so it does add a bit more to their already pricey drinks. I do love their drinks either way though. It’s better to take the train here but if you’re planning to drive here you might have a hard time finding a space to park. I would recommend parking on Mass Ave if that’s your plan.

The staff was nice and efficient, the dragon passion bubble tea was liked by both my husband and myself… however neither of us have ever had bubble tea before, so for newbies this was a great starting point! The place has free wi-fi and really nicely decorated with a little funky flair thrown in for good measure that made it enjoyable to just relax and soak up the environment as well as the tea ;)
